i mean im not a rangers fan but id imagine tha rangers would need a top line forward in return. Preds dont really have a top line forward who is at the end of their deal and relatively cheap. So if you could figure that out i could see it work

I wouldn't be too worried about a huge dip in NSH's player values just yet. Tovy is still only 23, still protected by RFA expiry status, has a very friendly cap hit, and is technically only in his second full NHL season. He has also shown enough to be a fairly valuable trade chip if NSH decides to go that direction. So, yeah, keeping him in that trade would've been an overpay for AA at this particular point in time.

I don’t think AA is the missing piece though— NSH has Tomasino they could just call up or not scratch Tolvanen all the time. I don’t see the need for AA and don’t see him as a fit for Hynes’ system. If anything, Hynes needs to go before they can truly improve.

I’d rather not trade away multiple picks for a middle 6 UFA when NSH is playing as poorly as they are right now

Fair enough, AA might not end up working out but I'm going to assume Tolvanen is worth at least a 2nd, so him + a 3rd (or maybe even just a 4th) should be enough.

That Columbus trade isn’t happening, love Saros, but he isn’t worth Werenski, 12th OA and 3 second round picks.

Hard to say what Johansen's trade value is after his rebound season, but you're definitely not getting enough value in any of the other trades.
Trenin's next contract is probably going to be in the $1.5-2.5M/yr range, depending on how much term he gets.

Three LHD making more than $5M? Not really a good way to spend what little cap space they have.
Ekholm would be a great fit, but it isn't realistic. Even if this is all that NSH is looking for in return, which probably isn't the case.

Not enough for Saros, Toronto doesn’t need Ekholm, or his contract(they have enough expensive LD) Edmonton can't afford that

What do you think Flames and Nashville fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Verdaka</b></div><div>I will say that NSH would be interested in Miller for our second line. However, NSH isn't going to give a 1st and Fabs. He's grown this year into a solid linemate for Josi and might be able to lead the 3rd pair on his own depending on how things shake up this summer. One or the other is probably what you would get and Tolvanen or Kunin to sweeten the deal with L'Heureux. (I don't know enough about L'Heureux to determine if NSH should keep him)</div></div>
Never thought about Tolvanen before since I didn't realize he was a 1st round pick. I was thinking about L'Heureux which I put in earlier or Fyodor Svechkov another 1st round pick as well if the Canucks wanted any of those two.

Off-Season Moves pt 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Verdaka</b></div><div>I think Fil is probably looking for more too but I think it's EvolvingHockey that has him at 8.5x8. I think it may be more 9x8 but who knows.
Lauzon I think is the right price, but I concede that Trenin and Glass might cost more.
I overpaid on Cole mainly to make sure that he wouldn't accept another offer. IT would all come down to negotiation.
What do you think about 2023 1st, Tolvanen, and L'Heureux?</div></div>
Personally, I don't have interest in Cole - even at half that price. He's already 33, slowing down, and NSH doesn't need another left shot defenseman.
If Nylander is on the block, I think TOR would take that. Would NSH offer it though? An unprotected 1st in a deep draft when NSH isn't necessarily going to be a playoff team, and a player who NSH just traded up to draft are both difficult pieces to part with. Nylander is very skilled, but I'm not sure he'd be a good fit under Hynes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Verdaka</b></div><div>We are trying to get rid of him but that's more because he doesn't mesh with out system rather than him being a total bust. I say he just needs more development. He's 25 so not too old and he would provide much needed cap space and defensive depth. Though IDK if you guys are struggling with that so I may be wrong</div></div>
What do you mean he doesn't mesh well with your system? NSH would be the second team he didn't fit in with, wouldn't be smart to move Nylander and have him be one of only two pieces coming back. Tolvanen won't make up for that.
TOR has enough depth defenders at the moment, potentially trying to move one to create a little cap space.

I've read from some NSH fans that they are dying to get rid of Myers. If that is true, there's something wrong with him and should not be in a package that acquires Nylander.

He's just not particularly good. I know the Leafs had him on the Marlies roster to finish the year, which might signal that he's heading there at some point anyway, but if you don't like Holl, you're gonna hate Myers :tearsofjoy
He could certainly be a salary exchange part of a Nylander deal, but he's a 7/8D.

Not a Leafs fan, but it's definitely not the price for him, regardless of what a certain group of fans that don't like nice things on their own team would have you think...
-Myers was waived last year and went unclaimed. His actual $'s owed this year is $3.8 mil, which makes him even less attractive as an asset. Odds are he gets bought out, or swapped for an equally bad deal.
-Tolvanen is now 23 and has seen little to no success at the NHL level.
-3rd=meh.
-Nylander=point per game player.
IMO, you're looking at a 1st round pick and a very good young asset as a starting point, with some other stuff tossed in.

Overall I don't think it works for either team.
TOR loves Kampf, especially for cost vs production/value. Getting 2 players back, @ higher cost, without shedding salary elsewhere just doesn't look ideal.

I would rather keep tolvanen over this package. Tolvanen needs to go back to focusing on his shot that got him drafted instead of a grinder. If Poile traded tolvanen I would hope it would be for someone else that needed a change of Scenery like Kravtsov
