Should Gorton have taken Lapierre at 19 - vote in comments
It’s a smart pick for a couple reasons, one they screwed the devils out of getting him, two he’s a very good get at 19 and 3 we’re thin at rhd prospects (yes Ik we have studs there but still),(not to mention they prob have something brewing with a deangelo trade). And they clearly didn’t love the forward prospects still on the board and lapierre was too risky for them

No, get the 3rd best defensive prospect is smart. Rangers have unreal offense with kakko and laf now

Ideal Offseason

He could accept $5M from Tampa and still take home as much as from the Rangers.</div></div>
You're forgetting the part about how its New York City tho. Everyone playing for Tampa loves Tampa Im sure, but there isn't really a more enticing place for guys to play than in NY. And to be the number one lefty D instead of 3rd? I would sign it. You're either getting the same ticket matched by Tampa and staying put and getting rich, or you get to be the guy in NY

I didn't say he was washed, just aging. I want someone who isn't gonna fall off by the time we are real contenders.

Sergachev and Domi
TB is a fair trade. You are correct someone needs to go. Bogo is healthy and playing exceptionally well. At 1.8 Tampa signs him. Sadly I think he will get much more than that. After a dozen years he has a taste of playoff hockey. He will sign with a contender.

Whats the Value of Palat
It's such a ridiculous question. Palat would have to go to a team with cap space. Teams with cap space are lousy. Palat ain't waiving, so stop dreaming about players waiving their NTC and leaving a good teams to go to poor teams for multiple seasons.
Then there is the question, why would teams give up much if anything for him. 5.3m could be spend just as well on a UFA or to sign your own RFAs rather than Palat.

Offseason 20-21
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Waddilyp</b></div><div>Sagecoll, just wondering why you think the Rangers decline the rest? I don't think they will get much more for Kreider or Strome and Domi gives them the 2nd line center behind Mika that they need. (The Smith trade is just for cap reasons)</div></div>
I don't think your Kreider trade is *that* far off, but the deal starts with a 2020 first, Swap Beaucage and the 2nd for a 1st and you're certainly close.
Sorensen has negative value (he was a below replacement player this year) , if you swap him with someone like Gregor, you're certainly close. Strome just came off a 70 point pace, he's likely to get something similar to his brother in a trade.
Deangelo is a solid bit better than Domi, worth almost a full Win more in less TOI, It's an easy decline there. That'd be an interesting swap for Trouba though. Chytil is their 2C next year, they don't need a replacement there. And it's just not a smart idea what you're doing, Chytil is far superior defensively to Domi.
I understand what you're *trying* to do with the Smith deal, but you're really overdoing it. You can either retain OR add the 3rd to get the 5th, but doing both is excessive. If you retain, it's enough for Ottawa.

Offseason 20-21
I’ll only talk for MTL, fair value but Bergevin intend to extend Jeff Petry this offseason and Weber and Petry are better than DeAngelo so we decline. Fair trade tho, if Petry wasn’t gonna be resigning, I’ll take that.
