I personally though herb was saying that it was too much for duclair which i'd agree unless you are dumping cap which with duclair's 3Ms you really shouldn't have to. That price for a rental is kinda crazy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>That type of player don't care about this, they force your hand</div></div>
To be fair two years ago Cole was sent dow no the minors and a lot of habs fans were concerned that cole might not have been that guy (which he is), but also under quinn, they were forced to third line roles. I blame quinn more for kakko because the right side was perfectly free for him to move up, and under gallant he proved that he should've been rewarded and moved up wasnt able. similarly laf was not allowed to play rw under gallant for no particular reason. Now under lav in a short time frame they are doing well in top six role. And Xspyrit is right in that truly great players force their way up, but what happeneds when good play simply isnt rewarded
Extra note; where the team is at right now im not concerned about their development and more concerned whether they are helping us win hockey games which they are so i am happy

Just want to say that I'm not an expert on the Hawks depth prospects I just like to make interesting hypotheticals, but I see Swayman as someone who could develop into a good starter, whereas to be a cup contender I'd rather have a bona fide elite goalie, which isn't easy to find, and is the hardest position to fill so if they end up having 2 great goalies that's an excellent problem to have

30 cents on the dollar.
Boston laughs at that.
Hawks 2nd in 24 and good prospect would be the minimum. And the lack of any desire to move him means you’d have to make an offer they could not refuse. What i just suggested as minimum does not blow them away.</div></div>
Fair enough, operating under the assumption that Boston cant truly afford Swayman, and Swayman doesn't want to be a backup behind Ullmark

Jake at a 5 year term
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYRxLundqvist</b></div><div>Of course he's a good player... is he a great player? Or a 11+m player? No. He should be making probably 8.5m on a team who can win a cup. My issue is the rangers just say eff it and throw money at whoever is available in free agency. Rangers also can't develop a player, but it's not shocking when you look at the development staff. No shot between andersson, kravtsov, laf and kakko (all top 10 picks) not one can develop in to star.</div></div>
Anderson and Kravtsov, that ship has sailed (even tho we traded Anderson for Cullye which somehow we salvaged the situation), Laf At Max can be like a 60-point guy, but Kakko is an absolute dog, he shouldn't be put together with those guys IMO cause he actually shows his potential night in night out. Panarin is probably more of a 9.5 guy maybe a 10M guy, Which under the circumstances when he was signed, we were in a bidding war with the islanders and we were expecting the cap to rise, it makes it make more sense. But to say that he's one of the worst FA signings is a bit outrageous. I find it hard to separate cap number and actual skill too sometimes but to say that he isn't great when he puts up elite numbers is crazy

Damn, what a lazy player even tho he put up 92 points, and ugh top 3 in turnovers along the sides of players like Pasta, Malkin, Draisatil, Karlsson, Kucherov, and Marner, what a travesty. And I promise you, out of every "cute" pass that u see he's connecting on two other "cute" passes that go unnoticed because they didn't result in turnovers

I've become convinced that Panarin might be one of the most over-hated players in the NHL, especially by his own fans. The guy is practically a lock to go over a point per game and ur comparing his contract to Trouba. Is it an overpay... yes but he's still an elite player

The only argument to this is that he would want more money to play in a very cutthroat market, that being Toronto which is valid, my biggest issue is that this has the cap going up by 7M which while I'd love to happen won't

58. Lenni Hameenaho
I loved Wahlberg before draft…I think he got as high as into the teens in my rankings. I regret not putting him inside top-10.</div></div>
I think Reinbacher is fine I had him going 11 to Vancouver in my mocks, I think Yager will be a solid pick in like 5 years, and what a steal for Columbus getting Brindley and Fantalli

Every Teams replacement Captain
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>For Chicago, Jones could be the next captain but I think Bedard would be the "replacement captain".
I don't think Gallagher would get any love once being passed up already.
For Buffalo, I think it would be on of thr young players thst replace Okposo, likely Dahlin (as long as he signs long-term).
NSH I think it would be O'Reilly.
PHI's next captain isnprobably Couturier, not sure who would be the replacement but I suspect that it wouldn't be Konencny.
For WSH, John Carlson over Oshie.
Flr could be Ekblsd but Tkachuk would have a good chance. Similarly, Marner in Toronto over Matthews. Rielly would make a good captain for the Leafs but I suspect that thry would choose Matthews next if it helped keep him around.
Others that I'm doubtful about: Norris (OTT), Hartman (Minn).</div></div>
The thought was if the captain was removed from the roster today who would be the captain
Gallager - I thought about giving it to Cole but he's probably too young, before Suzuki I thought he should have been captain
Buffalo - they didn't go the skill route with Okposo (Not that Skinner isn't skilled ) I feel that Skinner is one of the few vets ig, but he might be the longest-tenured buffalo
Nashville - O'Reilly hasn't even played a game for them yet
Philly - Ngl I forgot about Coots he's probably the guy
WSH- I struggled between the two but I feel Oshie is more of a leader
FLA- Ekblad just seems like next man up MT is a great player but idk ab captain he's probably a leader but some people lead better on the ice
TOR- I never said mathews would be a good captain, I just think if JT is gone they have to make it their franchise player, which speaks to how little leadership this current and future core has
Norris- I get it, everyone on this team is young I thought more about the future for this one as opposed to claude
Hartman- He just seems like he's ready to pump up the boys when their down by 4 or just do whatever it takes to win which is commendable in a captain, joel ek is another solid choice

I would love to see that, its just a matter of if fox can play 100% of his offensive game with miller without him having to think about getting back on defense, if so that could really work
