There’s an easy, near-perfect cap-wise $11,642,857 cut that the Rangers could make in this scenario

If you have Stutzle you probably don’t sign Trocheck either

Let’s also not forget Caufield and Stutzle were given bigger opportunities on rebuilding teams who were developing

Not 3rd line minutes on playoff teams

That type of player don't care about this, they force your hand

Lol with Quinn and Gallant as coaches, trust me both of them are playing 3rd line minutes. They’re not forcing anyone’s hand

To be fair two years ago Cole was sent dow no the minors and a lot of habs fans were concerned that cole might not have been that guy (which he is), but also under quinn, they were forced to third line roles. I blame quinn more for kakko because the right side was perfectly free for him to move up, and under gallant he proved that he should've been rewarded and moved up wasnt able. similarly laf was not allowed to play rw under gallant for no particular reason. Now under lav in a short time frame they are doing well in top six role. And Xspyrit is right in that truly great players force their way up, but what happeneds when good play simply isnt rewarded

Extra note; where the team is at right now im not concerned about their development and more concerned whether they are helping us win hockey games which they are so i am happy

Don't worry, I understand more than anybody that a coaching staff can hold a team back, we've been stuck with DJ Smith for a while.

My point was more that Caufield has a special shooting talent and would force his team's hand, same as Stutzle overall skillset.

In the present ACGM, Kakko and Lafreniere wouldn't be there so Caufield and Stutzle would play in the Top-6 and yeah, Trocheck probably wouldn't have been signed
