Addison Out
Pretty solid trade. Addison would be a good RD if Petry or Rutta were traded. Foligno would be good as well. The 3rd round pick would be Alexis Beaulac who’s a 6’4, 179 Right d-man. This could be the Pens last playoff run if they lose multiple of there better players. That could mean that the 202r 1st would be in the top 15. Fair deal IMO.

How do we do this next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>I can't imagine keeping Klingberg over Addison makes a ton of sense. Calen should certainly be cheaper than 3.5M. I would be shocked if none of Rossi, Walker, or Beckman don't make the team next year. Bringing back one of MarJo or Sundqvist makes sense but Gaudreau probably walks to make room for a young guy</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildwinswhen</b></div><div>I think CDE would be livid if Gaudreau was allowed to walk. The guy is a Swiss army knife. If we can get him for 1.5M he's one of those great middle 6 guys you can count on.
I think Klingberg is an older, bigger, better Addison. If we're just getting to Faber or one of the many other Dmen we've got, then it makes sense to sign and trade Addison. I was thinking of it more as Dumba or Klingberg at around 4M rather than Klingberg or Addison.</div></div>
Yea I think they try to bring back Klingberg if the price is right. I think the writing is on the wall that they dangle Addison this summer after how this season has gone between him and the org - and at this point I don't think they want two undersized RHD on that blue line anyway.
No way they allow Gaudreau to walk, I think both sides agree on a team-friendly deal (3-4 years @ 1.5M?) after the relative success he has had. Agree with Russo that they need to bring back JoJo if him and Boldy keep weaving magic. He'd be another cheap add with two more years of the cap crunch to deal with.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jnowariak</b></div><div>Agreed on Dewar, he’s the 4C. Going to be interesting when Nyquist filters in though. I’m not sure what Sundqvist brings but I think Foligno being pushed down to the 4th line (and Reaves to the press box) is what needs to happen for this team to be successful.</div></div>
Hard disagree on Reaves.
Reaves needs to stay in the lineup as much as people don't want to hear it. Kaprizov is no longer molested on a nightly basis and it remains that way because of Reaves. Simply put, Kaprizov owes his freedom of play on the ice to Reaves. Or at least the ideological thought or threat of him. It keeps opposing teams honest.
Or do you need reminding of the Doughty incident earlier this year? Or the Frederic incident last year? Without Reaves in the Lineup, opposing teams WILL try and agitate Kaprizov and get under his skin or worse, try and knock him out of the game entirely.
Even Arizona, Columbus, and Chicago attempted these gameplan routes before we acquired Reaves. Since then? Nothing, nada, zilch. He's been free to do as he pleases.
This isn't a scenario where his level of play dictates his roster spot. His M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) and implied threat, however, does.
In short, it's not about whether he's good on the ice or not. It's psychological warfare on Guerin's and Evason's part. One that's necessary.

If I’m not mistaken, there is no more roster size restrictions if you are under the cap making waiving Steel unnecessary. Everybody on the list is on the roster.

^This^ Is correct.
Furthermore, Shaw requires Waivers.
I'd also keep Dewar as the 4C. Move Foligno to 3rd line LW. And play Sundqvist at 3rd line RW.

Boston: Gets a top 9 power forward. He's also capable of putting up points he scored a lot last year but hes more of a playmaker than a goal scorer, seems like he'd be A very good playoff performer based on his play style. Also scared of needles lol.
Detroit: Gets a first round pick for next year. That is top 10 lottery protected. I like this for Detroit because Boston seems like the perfect team that's gonna drop down-to-earth next year. Especially if pasta or Bergeron are gone. If the condition is it becomes a Unprotected 2025 1st round pick then there's huge potential here for Detroit.

I am shocked by this trade, and that’s not good because I have to wake up early tomorrow. I wonder how this even started
NASH: We want two firsts for this RFA who is by all means having a down year… we like ‘‘em that much
Tampa: We can’t do two firsts, we traded all our firsts to Chicago for Hagel.
NASH: How about your 2025 1st and a couple other picks?
Tampa: It’s not off the table, but it needs to be top ten protected.
NASH: Okay, good start how about the other picks?
Tampa: Let’s see what do you want we got 2,3,4,5…
Nash: We’ve got a deal, it’s a pleasure doing business with you!

You would be lucky to get a 4th / 5th for Greenway based on performance this year, he is looking slow.
I would be surprised if anyone brought in Reaves. No scrapping in the playoffs so his ‘scare’ value is minimal.
