The Stan Bowman approach (StanIsTrash)
WAO, absolutely agree and have thought this way for a number of years. General mismanager is what I think of him. Or general maintainer at best. One thing is for sure, this team is all his, and the results are predictable. I will say this, tho, in his defense. He is attempting to be better. Trouble is, incredible, irreversible damage is done and will continue for the next 5-6 years. Chicago fans seem to be happy and content with the 3 recent Cups. However, with better management their Cup runs would still be intact. I know many will disagree with this sentiment because he was the GM during those Wins but, you are correct, Stan Bowman is not a good GM. Thank you!

I don’t understand what Ken Holland is thinking
It's really not hard to understand. There is no sense in rushing kids who aren't ready. Svechnikov could barely score in the AHL last year. He's not ready for the NHL. Zadina is 18, yes he could probably be ok if he started in the NHL, but again there is no rush. Zadina can play in the AHL this year (since he was loaned to Halifax from his Czech club he's not bound by the CHL draft rule) which is a great place for him. Higher competition than junior but not all the pressure of the NHL. Another year of development for him will be huge.
Rasmussen and Hronek will make the team, and add to the core of Larkin, Mantha, AA with Svech, Zadina, Cholowski ready to jump in next year and guys like Veleno, Berggren and McIsaac in 2 years

I'm not sacrificing Bura, a young top 6 forward, for 1 year of Mike Green. That's some bad mangement.

Thanks man, I feel like this trade is gives EDM cap room and a solid R-d man and a scoring winger, and CAR gets the center they need, and some solid young players

Detroit Post Draft Trades - MIN/MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsAreOkay</b></div><div>Still, no. Dumbs isn’t a one of a kind defenseman. He is very good, and I’ve liked him since his prep school hockey days... but you can get a few defenseman to his caliber in the league.</div></div>
Exactly, there's a lot of good RHD available to trade for this offseason. My whole point is that a trade between the Wings and Wild revolving around Dumba doesn't make sense, the Wings wouldn't be willing to give up what the Wild would want and the Wild wouldn't want what the Wings would be willing to give up.

What exactly does montreal gain here? Anisimov had a terrible year, not to mention losing the better goalie prospect. Duclair is a bottom 6 forward, hard no from the Habs.

Yeah not really sure why Yzerman is working on Johnny T. Means they would be guaranteed to lose Kucherov, Miller, or Point, or even all of them.

The deal is essentially three 1st rounder and an NHL ready depth defenseman, but I get where you're coming from.

MTL #2 trade, CAR, OTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsAreOkay</b></div><div>I agree with you here. Plus, Faulk is much more valuable. This is no offense to Blackhawks fans but they can’t seem to get that they won’t get him unless they give up a lot. Faulk is so good. Most underrated defenseman in the league. Carolina just wants to go younger and Faulks value is like 2 1st rounds and a good forward..</div></div>
People just don't watch Faulk play enough and parrot what they have heard. I have watched just about ever home game of his career and he is pretty good. I will say, the team imploded this year and so did he though. The whole team was just demoralized in front of Darling, and you could just feel it on the ice. Watching thier reactions to alot of goals and just kinda tossing the season up as a loss. I honestly don't blame some of the guys for regressing this year. BP preached system system system and would never break form it even when it was failing miserably. Faulk is a creative player with a heavy shot and needs some free reign to push up on offense, which we could not give him unfortunately. Its going to hurt losing him but I think it will be best for the team in the long run if we can get some good younger pieces , even though he is only 26, id rather pay some of our other guys if we have to make choices.

MTL #2 trade, CAR, OTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Canes are rebuilding in case you didn't realize it and the main reason why is the team only brings in $110M a year in revenue. They aren't spending close to $80M in players salaries so they need to make moves to work on a cup run 2 to 3 years away. Not to mention it's already been reports the Hawks and Canes have talked about this trade.</div></div>
Few things here. We are not rebuilding, we have been rebuilding for 4+ years. We are only a few pieces away from being playoff competitive. We have a very skilled young core at FWD with Svechnikov on the way and a top 5 prospect in the NHL with Necas. Same with DEF, Slavin, Pesce, Hanifin, Faulk (maybe), Fleury, and Bean on the way. We are trying to compete now and this trade does not help in any way. The new owner has already said we are not going to be a budget team anymore, in case you haven't heard. There is literally no reason to think we need help hitting the cap floor, that's just bad info. We have 3 top RFAs that need money and could easily go after veteran help in UFA. We want young players with potential to compete and that's all we will trade our assets for. Faulk would fit very well in a CHI lineup but this just doesn't get it done imo

first rangers attempt
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsAreOkay</b></div><div>Not bad. I don’t see the NYR trading Hayes, but your value is spot on</div></div>
At this point based on the information we have, it's probably more likely Hayes gets traded than not. But this deal doesn't make sense. The only really reputable sources for the Rangers have said a Hayes deal will almost definitely be for a top 4 RD or MAYBE for 2 OA if Gorton can somehow convince Carolina to move out of that slot (which isn't going to happen). We wouldn't trade Hayes for a C prospect and a 1 year rental LD. The whole reason we feel comfortable moving Hayes is because we're happy with how Zibanejad has played and we like how Chytil and Andersson have quickly developed, and both are expected to make the team next year. That's 3 young Cs that we expect to be here for a while. Acquiring a different young C, regardless of how good he is, makes no sense. If we really wanted a C, we'd just keep Hayes because he'll be cap effective with the projections on a contract for him and we're not short on cap space. And Gunarsson has less than zero value to us. Old player, one year deal when we're rebuilding.

Yes, maybe the 2019 2nd round pick is not needed. But, Pageau, is the the type of 3rd line center the Hawks sorely need.
In regards to Manson, I know it's an overpay, but this is exactly what they need. Size and snarl on the back end that can actually clearly the crease. But, Q will probably make him a stick poking soft Dmen when hes done with him.
