Gourde is a lot more valuable than a 6th and he's worth wayyy more than 2.75-3 million per year

What's the problem with the Tampa deal? They want Karlsson and have three aging defenceman on expiring contracts. We took the biggest cap hit they had.

He's played one good season in the NHL at 26 years old. I figured teams would be a bit weary of that. Also he's a UFA next year so he's essentially a 1 year rental

No. They could get more for Stralman considering he’s a great shut down defenseman. They’re trading Callahan, Tyler Johnson, and KIllorn. The deal is

Sens - Sergachev, Zajac, Speers, picks.
Bolts - Karlsson
Devils - Johnson
Rangers - Callahan, KIllorn, picks.

This trade is dreadful. They want Stralman

He slotted 75points last season and yes, maybe he's a rental, but his cap hit is 1M!!! Do you know how many contending teams who are up against the cap who would be interested!! And do you know what they would do to get him on their team!!

WHY would Tampa do this? Stralman has one year left at 4.5 million and still is a top four right hand defenseman. Gourde just scored 25 goals, a center and has a year left at 1 million. How about we give you Gourde, Callahan (hometown captain material), Colburn aging defensemen but useful as a third pairing (especially for a team at the bottom), one year left on his contract. In return you give us that sixth round pick. That would be a real salary dump.

Oh and to note, he’s only played 104 games and 1 full season with those numbers. Some bloom late. Absolutely a horrible excuse. He brings it every night. Like I said, this trade is dreadful.

Tampa would be stupid to trade Gourde when they have a prospect pool everyone drools over.

If you think Tampa is going to be able to resign Gourde you're insane. But I'll switch the trade up I guess to be more fair. Tampa would be wise to trade him now because they'll lose him for nothing.

Dude what?

Killorn - 4.45
Callahan - 5.8
Coburn - 3.7
Girardi - 3

Karlsson is on a 6.5, and verbally agreed to an 8y 11m deal. The rest of Callahan’s contract is going to cover that. Salary cap is going up. They would have 11.15 to sign Gourde? that’s just off of these contracts being lost. That’s not even accounting for the cap hit they already have and how much the cap will be going up. Please look things up before you post

Tampa needs some beef up front, several of our prospects have scoring and size. I love Gourde but must manage cap for the future, with another year like last he will command 4 plus million. So start the transition to a few younger players that are cap friendly.

Stralman is a top pairing defenseman, he’s extremely underrated. He wouldn’t be a salary dump, and Gourde is literally 1M. That’s not going to be the move they make to free up room for EK
