Neither can I. He doesn't drive the play. He's better suited as a complimentary piece. I only mentioned it cuz it sounds like we're gonna at least try it. I like Larkin Namestnikov Filppula, and at some point bring Ras over and give him in a shot at that 3rd C spot, as you said.

Better than Filppula. I think they'll probably try and flip between him and there's been talk all summer of trying Fabbri at center as well. If neither of them stick then I guess we can move Filppula up but ideally he's 3rd line

Same here. I really like the Bednar pick, but nothing else really excites me after round 2. I thought they passed on a lot of interesting players for just meh. good thing is, the round 2 picks are the most important ones, and I liked all of them so.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buffbry</b></div><div>Yeah I'm just so high on him and he won't last till 45. He's going to be the steal of this draft when he turns out to be Shea weber with speed. He's gigantic, left handed shot on D which we need, has a huge shot, uses his body, rushes into the play, is fast. I really think this guy with hronek, seider and mcissac(whoever we draft next year, owen power etc) just makes our top 4 special in a few years.
I'm higher on wallinder then anyone in this draft, I get you might not be and that's completely fine. I see nothing but pure skill and upside in his game</div></div>
Well done

I would be fine drafting Marat 32nd. I wouldn’t draft Wallinder that high though. Rather just wait till 45 and save our 2nd next year. There’s a lot of good players still out there right now. I don’t think Wallinder is worth basically 2 second round picks and Hirose.

I would take him at 55. Don't think I'd be super comfortable taking him any earlier, especially not at 32 with the guys we have available.

This. We are going to get really familiar with Edvinsson this year as he will probably make his debut with Frolunda at some point. Power, Lambos, and the last Hughes are all there as well on that left side. We'll see lots of Johnson as he's right down 94, and Raty will probably be in our range as well. The top of next years draft fits perfectly with our positional needs. Raymond was the perfect pick this year. I'm excited.

We need more to take on Boychuk, and honestly I would rather not make that trade at all. You can make an argument that our RD is one actual "strength", with Hronek back there, Seider coming up, Lindstrom looks solid, Tuomisto over there soon, among others. Boychuk would just be clogging up space. There's other deals around the league that would be better than this one for us. And even if this deal does get done, we get a 1st. Only reason we got a 2nd tonight is because Staal only has one year left. Same thing with Eriksson. Mid-grade prospect and 1st get that one done.

Oh I agree our defense is ass. Staal is an upgrade over guys like Ericcson and Daley, but that's not saying much.

Let's not sugarcoat it, this has nothing to do with Detroit actually wanting Staal. He can skate and we happen to need players basically everywhere, that's not the same thing. I think the biggest reason it's only a second instead of a first is because it's only one year. Any longer and I bet it's a first.

Wings are going to draft Rossi
I don't hate the idea of going after Cernak, but personally I'm against it just because we already have Hronek and Seider over there, plus Lindstrom, Tuomisto and other prospects as well. Also put Marco at center. If we draft Marco over Raymond/Perfetti it's because we think he can stick at center in the NHL over Perfetti. If we wanted a winger we'd draft Raymond. I get you're just trying to break him in or whatever, but play the kid where he knows how to play. I'd sub Gagner into that 3rd line winger spot where Erne is and have him mentor Marco, that's why the guys here. We just signed him today, he's probably not going to sit in the press box. I like the signings. The Markstrom one is a bit controversial with some fans but I personally like it. Anymore than 5 years I'd say no but 5 is good. Haula is probably a better center than Fabbri but I don't mind trying him there.
