Tampa 2025-2026
I think as soon as next year thompson and goncalves should be in the lineup and Alnefelt will get a few games, high chance that groshev and finley get called up at some point as well. By 2025-2026 depending on how the previous season went I would think Huuhtanen, Duke, Howard, Gauthier and Powell would contend for spots on the roster. I dont think that perbix will still be on the team by 25-26 and Chaffee will probably get pushed out at that point too although it is always hard to tell with this management, they really like their 25 year old rookies for some reason.

Rather have Gauthier, Groshev or Huuhtanen play in the top six to develop offensively over Jeannot. Don't see us giving Jeannot a 7 year either. The same issues still exist, right side defense could still be better but a legitimate top six winger either needs to be developed or signed.

I wonder if a team with cap next season like the Wings or Nylander less Leafs would offer him about 7m X 3 years.</div></div>
Tampa can afford 7M. Also "a fine player" is pretty crazy to say. He's having a pretty bad season eye test wise and he still has 24 points in the first 21.3 games. He has fallen off 5v5 wise, but he instantly makes any power play basically deadly if there is someone good on the other side because teams have to watch him so closely and there is so much extra space

How much for stamkos
Odds are we might offer him what Dallas did in a Pavelski-like deal, 3Yx7M. Once his new deal is up at 37, we revaluate his health, performance, and where both parties stand.
Additional cap space can be freed up by moving Sheary to a team not on his M-NTC (makes room for Groshev or Goncalves at the NHL level on whatever deal they have) and ship out Perbix (he's truly a replacement level D, moving him to develop Thompson as a top-4 RD instead at a young age seems like the smarter move)

Need both to be closer to $6 mil. Almost $8 mil is way too much for Hedman for 5 years. Depending on how the season goes, I’d be super hesitant to give that deal.

Both Hagel and especially Jeannot are going to need big increases in their games to see contracts like that from Tampa. Hagel should be no more than 7 as of now, and if Tampa is going to pay Jeannot near 4.5, he's really going to need to have had 2 very good seasons of improvement with the team.

Hedman new contract
I like all of the contracts besides hagel, I think I would max out at around 5mil AAV, he seems like a similar player to gourde or coleman and that seems to be the market price. His increased production was due to him moving on the kucherov and point line and while he is very valuable especially on the forecheck Im not sure that 7.5 mil is worth it. We also have a ton of young talent that need ice time and hagel's rights could be a nice trading piece.

Hedman new contract
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wrestlingfan5</b></div><div>So he’ll be 34 and look at kris letang? Nobody really gave that contract to much crap</div></div>
Letang took a paycut from his previous contract though, everyone kind of understood that the term was the cost of doing business on that one. You're giving Hedman a raise and also giving him a ton of term.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wrestlingfan5</b></div><div>But yes, probably honestly won’t sign for 6 years, I’m more looking at AAV.</div></div>
The two are inherently tied though. He could take a Letang contract and make less than his current AAV for a long term. Or he could take a short term contract and probably get a mild raise, assuming he doesn't fall off a cliff. If you're looking at an 8.5 AAV, you're probably looking at a 1-2 year contract. And honestly, that would be smarter than the Letang thing if you care about your team beyond 2026. The Penguins are living and dying for the next three years and then entering a rebuild, and that's why everyone was like "yeah the Letang contract makes sense for this team's situation", because who care what the last three years of Letang's deal look like if the team is rebuilding?
Is Tampa planning on following the same path? Given the contracts they just handed out to Sergachev, Cernak, Cirelli and (to a lesser extent) Point, I would think probably not. They're planning to continue being at least vaguely competitive for the rest of the decade.

Signing killorn and trading colton for picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wrestlingfan5</b></div><div>Agreed, I’m just playing around with different scenarios. I did just post another team. Under keeping colton & cole. Let me know what you think on if we kept everyone but killorn.</div></div>
I've done the same thing. Posted a few Tampa rosters. I did one where I tried keeping both Colton and Killorn and the best I could come up with was 2.5 mil AAV for both of them and that's on a 21 man roster. I think I had Jeannot making around 1.65 mil. Then Perry and Nedelkjovic at 775k. Schenn at 850k. Bogosian as the 7D. Eyssimont as 4C.
But no one believed Killorn would take a 2 mil paycut. He's apparently making McDavid money as a UFA. 🤭
An exaggeration but you get my "Point."😉

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Soninlawovwasgr8</b></div><div>Why does McDonagh wave or why would Tampa buy him out? Both Paul and Sergechev get more money than that</div></div>
Tampa will pay Paul more to keep him this offseason. That's about as much as Serg deserves, and if his camp comes at JBB with numbers that begin with a 7 or 8, he'll get a haul for him in a trade before paying that price. He's not worth more than McD or Hedman, so 6.5 is the absolute max JBB should be considering.

This generation best Dman, 28 y/o. The injury doesn't worry me, he only needs the time to heal and we'd have him for the rest of his career.
And remember: you wanted change for the playoffs? A player like Karlsson would be able to drag our ass all the way to the ultimate prize. He was almost able to do it with Ottawa, while dealing with a BROKEN FOOT.
PLayers like Erik Karlsson don't come around ofter; if you get your chance to get him you absolutely go for it.

2020 if salary cap goes up to 815
Hey <a href="/users/Wrestlingfan5" target="_blank">@Wrestlingfan5</a>, great job making a roster that is 2 yrs out, that is hard to do. Just wanted to add a few point. Like <a href="/users/Random2152" target="_blank">@Random2152</a> said, the cap should go up next yr do to normal league growth in $ and b/c of the MGM Grand betting deal. Also the yr after should go up a lot more b/c of Seattle's buy in. No one knows the numbers but $84-$86M is my guess.
Seattle expansion should be happening on the yr you made so they are gonna get one of our players. It is also Tyler Johnson's home state so some fans have speculated Johnny will wave his NTC to go there. I hope not. Also the yr you did is the yr Killorn's contract goes to a modified NTC so my guess is Killorn is who will go to Seattle and if not, he will get traded to make room for all the Syracuse guys coming up.
So Vasy, I love Vasy and I think he is in the upper bracket of goalies in the world however, i would never sign a goalie for that long. 5 yrs max for a goalie. Look at the Marc Audre Fleury contract... that contract is prefect! I hope we get Vasy around that.
Lastly the Dman, that is the biggest wild card to trying to make a Lightning team 2 yrs out. man who knows who will be here (other than Heddy and McD which is a lock.) Got think a trade for a D will happen at some point. Foote is not ready and may not pan out, other than Cernak, the cupboard is bear in Syracuse. I just wanna say if Coburn, Girard and maybe ever Starls is here in 2 yrs we will be in trouble. That group is aging and the league is getting younger and faster.
Anyways again great job and I really enjoy seeing what other fans of the bolts think will happen in the future :) Go Bolts
