I think you are missing the point of this I don't expect any of my Marner trades to happen. I am choosing a random team each time I do this. I only doing this for some good hockey talk.
Also for everyone who is questioning Marner's value. I start a thread in the nhl forum come talk to me there about his value

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SociallyHawkward</b></div><div>It's definitely a more balanced leafs team with a huge hole in goal still. Can't see the preds going this hard for a winger. I think the flaw in your formula here is wanting a top 6 winger as part of the return. If I'm spending the insane price to acquire marner it's because I have a hole at top 6 winger. I wouldn't pay this price to just upgrade the wing position.</div></div>
I I'm generally trying to choose wingers that are in there early thirties players who career are trndind downwards. Atleast that's is what I will be doing from here on out.
Also I basing this on what the Yotes are asking for Chychrun. Which I believe is
2 first
A top 4 D
And a top D prospect..
If Chychrun can potentially fetch that much, a healthy Marner should be able to get a better package.

Oh I fully agree I don't think Dubas has the balls to move marner. That's why all my marner trades are just for some good fun and good hockey conversation

Question for Hockey fans. What is Mariners trade Value.
Hello fellow hockey people. I plan to be a more active user going forward and I have currently started a "Breaking up the Band" series which involves Mitch Marner being traded. Every day or so I'm going to pick one team at random to be trade partner.
I have Marner value at
2 first( lottery protected)
Top 6 forward
Top 4 D
Good prospect.
Now I know some people are going to come at me and say that's way to much for Marner but I think that's pretty far.
I also know some people are going to come at me and say Marner's contract is to big to move. For this people I disagree. If Marner hit the UFA market right now every team in the league would be coming to him and offering him a contract that would be higher than it is now.
I am open to constructive criticism I well the hockey talk. It been a very tough few years for me, and I am mainly doing this for fun to help my mental health.

I have to ask why do people keep putting Jarnkrok with Matthews. I have nothing against Jarnkrok but he hasn't shown me enough to earn a roll in the leafs top 6.
I agree that a change is needed but I think fans are over thinking it.
I rather see the leafs run with a top 6 like this
Robertson Matthews Nylander
Bunting JT Marner.
I would want to see this tested over 10 games. If it works keep it that way for the rest of the season, if it doesn't try something different. Maybe by then Jarnkrok will have shown enough to get a chance at the top 6

I will agree to disagree, Marner is worth what I suggested, also I dissagree that it would make the NYI so much worst. So the draft picks and a prospect is a lot but the Islander would still be getting the best player in the trade by a long shot.

Hey Kirk Im just going to comment on the Marner Trade. Package wise I don't think you are to far off atleast not in my opinion. I do have a few thoughts.
First I think the islanders would have to include a better froward Beauv. I would take the older Brock instead.
Second I can't see the islanders giving up their top RD that they just signed to a reasonable contract in any trade. So instead of Pulock how and Pelech instead.
From a quick glance NYI have pretty good D depth so replacing Pelech from with in shouldn't be to hard

The blend that may solve some issues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Matthews does well with anyone
Last year he played a game with Kerfoot as the RW and that line combined for 5 points
Jarnkrok has played top 6 in the past for Nashville and SEA and like Kase could thrive in the role and give them a spark when guys like Marner and Nylander arent working
This allows for the spread of offense as even if teams shut down the 3 they got a 3rd line with Willy to deal with</div></div>
Just because Matthews can do well with anyone doesn't mean he should be playing with players who shouldn't be in this teams top 6.
This is what I would do.
Robertson Matthews Nylander
Bunting JT Marner.

Hey leaf fan here. I'm going to say no the Schenn trade. Here is my reason you expect the leafs to give up Holl and 2nd for Schenn but then you go on a flip Holl in for a 3rd. Leafs need to keep their draft picks not through them around for a bottom pairing D man.
Now if you want trade Schenn straight up for Holl then I would accept that trade. Holl needs a change, and I've always like Scheen I think the leafs screwed up his development way back then.

Downgrading one of the best 5 on 5 players to a bottom 6 player and a pick doesn't really fit what the organization is trying to do.</div></div>
Hey I fully agree that the Nuck trade is bad, why not post a counter offers, you can disagree on everything but still make conversation.
I am currently making a "Breaking up the Band" leafs series that involve trading Marner. I hope you come check them out some time same goes for you Coachcoach

I respect what you are trying to do here, but there is no way Kane or Toews is coming to the leafs never mind both of them.

Need To Score More Goals
I agree the leafs need to score more but the Shark trade is a no for me. Leafs need to stop trading away the future. Imo if you want the top guys to score more the solution is to move one of the top 4. My vote is Marner, who is one of my favorite players right now, but I think he gets the best package outside of Matthews.
The leaf players need awake up call, and the best way to do that is to move a player the rest of the team never thought would be moved.

First of the Tarasenko trade is a no for me. I rather take my chances with Robertson on the 2nd line. Leafs need to stop trading the future for a one year rental.
Also I don't know enough about the leafs prospects but I don't see The Nucks doing that trade. If the Canucks Move do decide to move Garland it will be for a much better package.
As for Barabanov I don't see him as a good fit for the leafs.
Also there is no reason to banish Holl in the minors. He is still a tradeable asset even if it's for a 4th Rd pick.

I don't mind the shark trade, but there is no way the sharks are keeping 5mil of Karlsson contract(maybe 2mil but even then that's a stretch). Also I can't see the sharks giving up two top 6 forwards and a Number one D.
I value Marner at
2 1st
1 Top six forward
1 top 4 D
1 top prospect.
For your trade to work I think the leafs would have to throw in a first.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>I just don’t see the point of this from Nashville’s perspective. Even with McDonagh it creates a big hole on their blue line imo. Plus Marner is a winger and I personally wouldn’t do this unless it was for a huge upgrade at center for Nashville. It’s the more important position to team success imo.</div></div>
I agree, the preds seem like a unlikely trade partner but like I siad I'm choosing teams at Random. Also Marner has enough skills that I think he could make a average centre look like star, do even though Marner doesn't play centre, he would still be a huge help to any team. He has the ability to control the game. All the Centre has to do is get open.

Frist of, I would absolutely take Trots over Keefe and that's nothing against Keefe. Trots is a proven winner as a coach.
As for your trades it's a no for me on all of them. I'm all for trying to win the cup, but there are ways to do that with selling off the leafs whole future.
If you have time you should check out my team. I'm not going to link it, I don't want to overtake you're build.
