I genuinely wonder if you've ever watched Goodrow play a game at all because if you did you would know he actually does have value, hes not a cap dump contract like everyone thinks he is for some godforsaken reason. He also has that playoff factor that teams looking to contend desperately want/need (look at Jeannot), on top of that he's also (reportedly) a big locker room guy.

2022-23 NYR - Andrew Copp
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>XBestOneYetX</b></div><div>Sadly, today is D-day for Copp in my opinion. If we don't re-sign him today I don't see him re-signing here once he hits the market, as Detroit and Nashville can offer him more money and likely the term he is looking for. To me it comes down to if Copp is willing to accept 5.5/5.75 for 5 years to have a chance to win a cup? He certainly won't have that anytime soon in Detroit, Nashville adding Copp and McDonagh are big moves, but not sure that puts them above Colorado or even St. Louis. I just think the Rangers will be moving on if the deal isn't done today. Chytil to 2C, sign an affordable 3C (White, Rodrigues, Jarnkrok, Dylan Strome, possibly Stastny - but I'd prefer not a 36 year old) and if Chytil isn't working out we make a deal in season or at the deadline. Getting PLD to play with Breadman would be great, but an extension would need to be worked out before we traded for him and it will cause us major issues down the road. Drury has how work cut out for him.</div></div>
Spot on re Copp, I in the same place as you. Ditto on some of the names you indicated. Finally, no old guys, "play the kids." Let's see what we have!

Cap Space
From the NYR perspective, J.T. Miller is one year rental. The NYR lack sufficient FREE CAP SPACE to retain J.T. in the out years. If the NYR intend to move some of their younger players at the end of next year, or this year for that matter, then this trade might make some sense. VAN will no doubt be looking for different young names than the ones in this trade proposal.

Trades
Rangers can't handle Christian's cap hit and if Kappo goes, it will be for an offer sheet he can't refuse. And that 's before you take into account XBestOneYetX's comments which are spot on. I take the ANA trade to CAP Dump. Trade # 3 is interesting. Without doing any closer analysis, I say yes if the Rangers can fill the other holes and still work this one in without breaching the salary cap. 2 out of 2 ain't bad.

Come on, you are lying to yourself and your earlier post made it very clear, he does not plan to sign an extension!</div></div>
I'm a Jets fan but don't be a Jets Homer. PLD is far more likely to sign long term in NY than Winnipeg. Let's be serious here.

Siegenthaler was literally proven as the best defensive dman in the entire league analytically yesterday and Graves is a solid top 4 LHD. Third pairing will be filled with one of our prospects and a veteran signing. Our D is fine</div></div>
I feel bad if you think Jack Campbell is your goalie answer

Can’t wait for the Rangers to be that team next year to take a step back cuz their goalie doesn’t win them every single game. The days of Rangers cap hell have arrived just as the Devils prospects are turning into NHLers and poised for a big offseason. Should be a fun few years</div></div>
Get a goalie over a 90% sv% then talk

Yeah I think he’d take it for sure. Especially if it projects to be an early 2nd next year.

That's a nice package for eichel, unfortunately he isn't going to get close to that. Adam's waited to long to deal him and now he pinned himself against free agency. A lot of the teams that maybe had the cap space to add 10mill have now filled out their rosters, which takes out a potential bidding war. My question is would he really keep eichel for another year if he doesn't get exactly what he wants.

Everything we have heard is Rangers are looking for a veteran d-man that plays the left. Gio, Dunn, Soucy all names that have been floated in rumors all play the left. I expect Jones to be dealt or be the 7th man even though it's not ideal for his development. Smith should have been signed to be the 7th man at league minimum as he wanted to stay here.</div></div>
Im bummed they didnt give Smith a look but it is what it is. I felt he closed out the year quite well and really lead by example for the kids.

NYR 19-20
If the market wasn't tight as a clam right now, I'd say each move is reasonable...if anything,I think (in a normal market) the Names and Strome trades are low balls...the Smith trade might need a little sweetening...a 3rd and 4th to take 8.75M in salary (over 2 years) probably needs an upgrade in the picks and/or inclusion of a prospect.
