Like I will leave it with this imagine your the new CEO of MLSE, you call Shanahan in and go okay so the Matthews era or Shanaplan has resulted in 1 playoff series win what seems to be the issue. Well sir we recently cant seem to score more than 2 goals in 9 of our last 10 playoff games. So okay we cant score more than 2 goals but we are paying 4 FORWARDS a total of $46.65m or slightly more than 50% of this teams cap combined
Thats correct sir.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>No I remember Masai interfering with the board when it comes to it at times. Was a factor in why Rogers didnt want him back lul. Now he doesnt have a choice due to economy but before he made sure we didnt see Raptors tickets become Leaf tickets.
But he has discussed it before "It's above me, but it's also concerning my team, so yes we have 100% input in this, and we have to look at market prices everywhere in the NBA and in our market. We have to consider our fans too. It's been looked at in every way possible"
I think if u had a Leafs president who complained enough you would see better prices. Not super affordable but not what were currently seeing. Heck maybe the new MLSE CEO will go to the board and say look we need better prices for the fans as we need a new culture here not just business snoozefest topia lul
Lets see cause if this keeps up eventually TOR seats will just be filled with black suits and ties and briefcases by 2027 100% lul</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oneX</b></div><div>Raptors tickets are just more affordable and that's fact because I have been to at least 1 Raptors game a year. You wouldn't catch me at a Leafs game because the ticket prices sky high.
It has nothing to do with Masai but everything to do with greed. MLSE knows they can charge whatever for Leafs tickets and get away with it...it's not quite the same with the Raptors.</div></div>
The Leafs need to look into building a new arena (ideally right beside the current one) or rebuilding the ACC to increase capacity. They could easily push 30k, keep their high priced seats and have more reasonable nosebleeds.
I dream of a time where someone living in London can grab a round trip Go train (need to have them run late enough to go home) and see a Leafs game for about $150.
The rebuild plan would be multiple years of construction so they'd need to start working on a temporary home now where they can play for a few years that isn't a Coyotes situation. No fewer than 16k ideally. Does anyone know how large Hamilton's new arena is? I know the Bulldogs have moved out to brantford while its being built.
Edit:
Hamilton looks like the answer. God bless Tim Leiweke https://venuesnow.com/280-million-hamilton-arena-project-takes-shape/

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>He won't though. And it is likely the end of this team as we see it. I get all the bluster about the stars and the PP but when we get 3 goals against every game, against actual good defensive teams with better goalies, what do we expect? <strong>Keefe wants to win games 5-3 instead of 2-1</strong>. Until he changes his philosophy and decides okay let's give Boston nothing. Wait for our chances and bury them. I am fine winning 2-1 and going deep in the playoffs. But that's not how it's going to go.
Just listen to Keefe's interviews. He's always saying "I thought we deserved a better result". Yeah it's been 4 playoffs of you saying that Keefe. It's pretty clear by now that it's not going to work. And he won't do a thing until there are 3 losses in the series.</div></div>
That's so unfounded lol. Leafs have allowed the 8th fewest GA/GP in the playoffs since Keefe's first full season, and it ain't because of stellar goaltending. In that same time frame (excluding this current playoff), the Leafs have allowed fewer high danger chances per post-season game than the Islanders, Stars, Vegas, Rangers, Panthers, Hurricanes, all of whom have had greater playoff success than us. Defensive play has never been our issue under him.

Even put aside the fact that he's had two of our best chances despite not being able to bury them - he looks composed out there. They had me tearing my hair out with how often they were just dumping the puck in for a giveaway, but on multiple occasions he would be in a position to do that and instead play it back to keep possession and still get a change in.

That's fair, but Sammy's not it either. He's an incredibly streaky goalie and not the guy you want to ride in the playoffs even when the defense is clicking. He can pull games out of his rear end on occasion but he can also cost team's games. He's a fine backup, but Leafs need a more reliable starter along with at least one top 10 shut down defender in the league.

Saros might have made a save on one of those turnovers but to think he would save them all is silly.
Need to cut down on turnovers and mental mistakes. Yes, gotta be physical but if you're taking yourself completely out of the play, the hit is unnecessary.
Also shots vs high danger chances. Getting shots on goal is good but there just wasn't enough high danger chances.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fangm</b></div><div>If you think everyone was just bad then we watched a different game. Clearly there were issues but the Leafs out shot and out hit Boston. Moneypuck has the expected goals at 7.4 to 3.7 in favour of Toronto.
The lesson I take is that we need more of what we got from the first line. Boston was doing the same **** but since everyone does it nobody gets called. On Toronto it stands out when Domi or Bert do it cause nobody else does.
Also the two high sticks are complete flukes, wouldn't read into it.
In terms of the goalie. If it's going to be a tight checking defensive game then we need Woll. Sammy will give you the brilliant save that Woll won't but he also lets in a bunch of ****ty screenshots like 2 of the goals today that Woll rarely allows. I'd rather give up the 1 goal on a crazy play that Sammy would save and get stability that this team didn't have this game. That 2nd goal was a backbreaker. Never goes in on Woll.</div></div>
Early in the first period the Leafs were keeping up with the play but as soon as the unnecessary hit by Reaves and the pinch by Edmundson at the same time the Bruins carried the play.
These goalies we have can make routine saves but as soon as the D or forward group make mistakes, all bets are off. The goal where the Boston player was able to get to Sammy without a Leafs player between him and Sammy is just bad defense. If there's going to be more chances like this one in the series, forget the game no chance at winning the series.
As for Matthews and the talk about shots vs shot attempts, bottom line is the stars have to score. It's why they get the big bucks and if the stats line is going to be zero, zero, zero, good luck winning anything.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fangm</b></div><div>A few talking points:
1. More poor decisions from Keefe. Jarnkrok on PP1, not pulling Sammy at the start of the last PP. Again he really seems to struggle to motivate the team and get them to play the right way at the right times.
2. Horrible officiating.
3. Jarnkrok and Holmberg stand out as two guys who played really poorly. Both honestly looked completely lost and had many turnovers. Robertson is the only guy on that line who can carry the puck. They knew that and kept stepping up on him but the other two couldn't capitalize on transition chances.
3. Knies looked great but Marner as always disappeared. He seemed completely lost out there.
4. Woll should start next game. Not blaming Sammy but he didn't do enough to win the next for the next game.
Thoughts?</div></div>
No problem with Jarnkrok on PP1. He's probably the best option as a secondary triggerman with Nylander out. Really underrated shot.

Jarnkrok has a wicked shot. Really underrated. His passing is adequate though unspectacular and he doesn't really need to be the puck carrier on PP1.
