So really, Sammy has probably cost the Leafs 2 to 3 goals. Special Teams have cost the Leafs about 6 goals.</div></div>
Your numbers are a bit off.
Avg is 80-20, among playoff teams its usually skews a touch higher

I mean, 3 of the last 8 conference finalists have had a 3GAA or worse (4 if we drop it to 2.9). It's not ideal, but... It's certainly not insurmountable.

With a few exceptions, he's been fine. That's our starter, and the backup fared very poorly both recently and against Boston this year. Woll would be coming into the series mostly cold and since Sammy isn't the issue - that risk may not be worth it

Georgiev was at 2.60 gaa when COL won. Vasi was at 2.52 the year prior. Hell even Binners big run to the cup was 2.46

I know you (like I) want Keefe fired and wanted him gone at least a year ago if not longer but the coach stuff aside, this core of players has NOT done enough over the 3-4 years. The coach stuff is what it is but need to expect more and better out of the core.
When you compare this core to other top players in the playoffs (McDavid, Draistl, MacKinnon, Makar, Zabinejad, Aho, the list can keep going) what the Leafs are getting out of these guys is not nearly enough.
It's okay to admit that, I promise.

I would argue for the blues the main issue was management not knowing how to replace the guys they lost/traded away even the fans felt the same when he was let go. Like letting Pietrangelo walk because you extended Faulk who yah traded for was a what yah doing moment. Plus Binnington did fall off the face of the earth for a few years before somewhat resurging. I remember that bubble team and they could not buy a save from either guy.
He's a guy I would not mind as maybe he can whip these boyz into shape and turn them into men. Make them play like they want it especially in playoffs.
Cause yea other than him options be Boudreau (pls no), Evason, Gallant, Woodcroft, McLellan, Smith, Lambert
Maybe they can steal Brid'Amour as CAR apparently are hesitating to pay him but yea its gonna be interesting.
But of all the resume's out there Berube's is the best right now.
Now that could change if Sullivan and the Penguins decide to part ways but idk if that happens</div></div>

Just putting this out - Sammy has better Save % than Saros, Bobrovsky, Hellebuyck, Georgiev.
Sammy could have been better - maybe the series would be 2-2. But the flaws in this team are still there.

The big 3 underperformed in the playoffs under Babcock. 41 points in 60 combined games played between them.
You're also <em>way</em> off on your TOI stat. Matthews played nearly 9 minutes in the 3rd, Marleau 6.

Didn’t get to see tonight’s game. But holy crap is it asking too much for us to score a couple goals. At least Mitch got one, but it just seems like collectively, as a group, the core 4 (5?), is never clicking at the same time. Like is it really too much to ask to see us be able to score around 4 goals a night, one for Matthews, one for someone else on the core four, maybe a couple depth guys get goals.
I honestly don’t know what to think about a possible comeback. But it’s not looking too good for us, I’m not really expecting much at this point. And even if we do win this series I don’t have a lot of confidence they can win another one, let alone 3.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>Also, leave it to Keefe to not adjust until we've already dug ourselves a ginormous hole. The Leafs aren't coming back from a 3 - 1 deficit against the Bruins.
We say this every offseason, but it's more true now than it ever has been; change <strong><em>needs</em></strong> to come. I cannot stand the thought of having to watch another season of Sheldon Keefe hockey, or the Guy Boucher Powerplay, or the Mike Van Ryn Man-on-Man defensive structure. I don't want to see a single familiar face behind the bench next season. I also don't want to see Samsonov between the pipes, he's too inconsistent and the lows are far too low with him.
It's also startling that the Leafs would ever consider trading Marner. This UFA crop is super weak and that money we'd be saving wouldn't be put to great use. Plus, it's Mitch Marner we are talking about. He's our 2nd best player and a crucial part of this team. You want to know why he doesn't show up in the playoffs? Because Keefes system is dog s***. That's the exact same reason why the other big guys also disappear in the playoffs.
All of this being said, we won't see changes this offseason. Keefe will be the headcoach next season, and the roster will probably be IDENTICAL, just without Bertuzzi and a new RHD.
This team could be so good but we are wasting our contention window by employing a bunch of bumbling idiots to run the show behind the bench. Our blueline contributes next to nothing offensively and also doesn't DEFEND. Sick of this same old song and dance.</div></div>
I think Keefe is a good coach, tbh, and we've seen the players underperform under two different coaches now so I don't think it's fair to put their shortcomings on his shoulders, but yeah he needs to go. It's just time.

Whether we like it or not, you need to tighten up and allow less goals against in the playoffs.
The whole argument of "what if Woll ****s the bed?" Is poor. What if Sammy ****s the bed? We now have 20 games of Sammy's playoff career and what we can safely assume at this point is he's going to be mediocre. What if Woll is what he was in the playoffs last year, or before he got hurt? Both of those two things are better than Sammy.</div></div>
I mean if Woll craps the bed after coming in were completely screwed lol. But I see your point, I’m not necessarily disagreeing with the idea of playing Woll. I’m just don’t think Sammy has been as bad as you say, nor has he been the biggest problem with this team.

The heck are you talking about lol, since when is 3 goals against completely unacceptable? It’s not stellar but it’s more or less average. When you have a team built on its offence 3 goals against is fine and you should be able to score 4 goals for the win.
By the way I agree if Sammy has not been great, he had a horrible game one. But his games 2 and 3 have been fine and good enough for us to be winning games. We just need to be scoring more, especially on the PP

Well sir we recently cant seem to score more than 2 goals in 9 of our last 10 playoff games. So okay we cant score more than 2 goals but we are paying 4 FORWARDS a total of $46.65m or slightly more than 50% of this teams cap combined
Thats correct sir.

Was a factor in why Rogers didnt want him back lul. Now he doesnt have a choice due to economy but before he made sure we didnt see Raptors tickets become Leaf tickets.
But he has discussed it before "It's above me, but it's also concerning my team, so yes we have 100% input in this, and we have to look at market prices everywhere in the NBA and in our market. We have to consider our fans too. It's been looked at in every way possible"
I think if u had a Leafs president who complained enough you would see better prices. Not super affordable but not what were currently seeing. Heck maybe the new MLSE CEO will go to the board and say look we need better prices for the fans as we need a new culture here not just business snoozefest topia lul
Lets see cause if this keeps up eventually TOR seats will just be filled with black suits and ties and briefcases by 2027 100% lul</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oneX</b></div><div>Raptors tickets are just more affordable and that's fact because I have been to at least 1 Raptors game a year. You wouldn't catch me at a Leafs game because the ticket prices sky high.
It has nothing to do with Masai but everything to do with greed. MLSE knows they can charge whatever for Leafs tickets and get away with it...it's not quite the same with the Raptors.</div></div>
The Leafs need to look into building a new arena (ideally right beside the current one) or rebuilding the ACC to increase capacity. They could easily push 30k, keep their high priced seats and have more reasonable nosebleeds.
I dream of a time where someone living in London can grab a round trip Go train (need to have them run late enough to go home) and see a Leafs game for about $150.
The rebuild plan would be multiple years of construction so they'd need to start working on a temporary home now where they can play for a few years that isn't a Coyotes situation. No fewer than 16k ideally. Does anyone know how large Hamilton's new arena is? I know the Bulldogs have moved out to brantford while its being built.
Edit:
Hamilton looks like the answer. God bless Tim Leiweke https://venuesnow.com/280-million-hamilton-arena-project-takes-shape/

I get all the bluster about the stars and the PP but when we get 3 goals against every game, against actual good defensive teams with better goalies, what do we expect? <strong>Keefe wants to win games 5-3 instead of 2-1</strong>. Until he changes his philosophy and decides okay let's give Boston nothing. Wait for our chances and bury them. I am fine winning 2-1 and going deep in the playoffs. But that's not how it's going to go.
Just listen to Keefe's interviews. He's always saying "I thought we deserved a better result". Yeah it's been 4 playoffs of you saying that Keefe. It's pretty clear by now that it's not going to work. And he won't do a thing until there are 3 losses in the series.</div></div>
That's so unfounded lol. Leafs have allowed the 8th fewest GA/GP in the playoffs since Keefe's first full season, and it ain't because of stellar goaltending. In that same time frame (excluding this current playoff), the Leafs have allowed fewer high danger chances per post-season game than the Islanders, Stars, Vegas, Rangers, Panthers, Hurricanes, all of whom have had greater playoff success than us. Defensive play has never been our issue under him.
