A first round pick, a 2nd round pick, and a 3rd liner isnt logical for a rebuilding team?

You guys have so much cap space, I think you can just hand him a 2.6 'prove it' deal just to ensure he picks the Devils
Also, as I was typing this, I get the Saad to STL notification lol

The thing is (and maybe I'm a Toronto homer) but Ho-Sang is from the greater Toronto area so maybe he would be ok to play with the Marlies, similar to what Galchenyuk did, and MAYBE get a chance in the NHL for a game or two.

Every GM makes questionable decisions. I don't think he should play in the NHL, I have a feeling he'll play with the Marlies though.

I guess you could move guys around in the lineup, personally I don't like Kerfoot as a centre compared to a winger, but that call is on Keefe.

I just learned about the new condition rule, my bad there. But I like the idea of getting Kuemper as a 1A.
Unfortunately, I think Dubas is getting too attached to "his guys". Doesn't seem like there will be much on the trade front, but who knows, Dubas always seems to have a hidden trick up his sleeve.

Nino is still a fantastic player IMO, maybe they could charge more because of the cap value
Dadonov isn't very good and makes too much money, especially for a team like Ottawa who has an internal salary cap
I think Tampa is banking on Barre-Boulet to play their top 6 next season, but no bad option there.

It could be anyone tbh, I also love Clarke's game so I went with him lol.
Devils do give me the vibe that they might be going for a playoff push, this trade could actually make a lot of sense for them as they get two DECENT roster players on cheap deals. Abramov also doesn't seem to be very far from making the NHL.

Hear Me Out - Ideas Before Expansion Draft MCCANN TO TOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>I don't get this McCann deal from a Toronto perspective. Sure he's at risk of being exposed to Seattle and has had inconsistent play to make his value not the highest, might be closer to a 3rd and a prospect, but the rest of this just doesn't make sense.
1. You trade Hyman's rights - well what if Pittsburgh signs him (which would be their intention) - & you've now just traded a 3rd and Hyman for McCann. Which is a terrible deal for Toronto.
2. If you trade for McCann before the expansion draft then you need to protect him - and if you don't (I assume you've still protected the core 4 plus Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, and Holl by the looks of it - should be Dermott but that's whatever), so why wouldn't Seattle just take McCann who's younger and has more team control? Then Toronto just traded a pick and Hyman for literally nothing.
This just makes no sense as it is. Good idea going after McCann, just bad execution here.</div></div>
I should have clarified, that is my bad. Here TOR actually goes 7-3-1 but still exposing Kerfoot to SEA. Hyman is gone from the Leafs 100% so it doesn't really matter where he goes, we're just shipping him off for SOME value.
Maybe the pick is a bit much but I didn't want to be called a Leaf homer so I sent them a pick as well. The general point of this trade though is to upgrade at 3C (McCann in, Kerfoot out) as well as getting SOME value for Hyman instead of just losing him to FA. And from a PIT standpoint, they get exclusive negotiating rights to a player they are interested in (who can also just walk) AND a draft pick.
Both teams get value for players they were going to lose for free.

Nylander sisters
Gotta say, I love some of these ideas! But I would probably execute them differently...
A. Nylander trade seems like a bit much of an overpayment, considering he was injured this season and still doesn't have a contract...
I also think CBJ might want a bit more for their goalie, especially cause there is salary retention there.
And as much as I love Tyler Bozak coming back, 3C at this age is a huge risk. 4th liner no problem, just worried about his age and ability to play 14-17 mins a night.

1. I would argue they are ridiculously stupid lol. You can't be THIS bad of a franchise and be smart.
2. Olofsson is a very good middle 6 winger at most. They also get 2 fairly high picks in a draft that they supposedly value a lot.
3. I'd also say Barratt could be more than a bottom 6 player if he is developed properly, I like his skillset, smart player.

Haha, but for real, I like some of these moves. Danault is going to want so much more. That being said, I would probably make the Islanders retain, or have them find a team to retain for them which would allow the Blues to not buyout. That would allow them to give Danault the money he wants.
I also think Tatar comes cheaper then 5 just because he was sat in the playoffs, even though he is a very very solid middle 6 winger. Maybe sign him for like 3.75, move Bortuzzo and improve that 3rd d-pairing...
