Detroit isn't trading ASP and a 1st for Anderson and Markström who is 34. ASP could be better than Anderson and Markström at 34 isn't worth a 1st.

Which I wouldn’t be surprised if that was 100% intentional for his contract.</div></div>
He had the same amount of points last and this year with 42 and this year he had 2 more pp points. His 1st year with out Walman he had 50 points. Yeah Ghost is the problem.

Take out the 2nd and probably. Matheson is a 60 point dman as much as AA is a 30 goal scorer. Matheson is a 30 point dman and at 30 he might not even get back to 30 points.

Getting younger and more picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lottsie10</b></div><div>You're higher on Wallinder than I am and that's ok, I get it. But I still don't see a spot for Wallinder on this team in at least the next 2-3 seasons with Walman, Edvinsson and Maatta/Johansson all in the lineup before him. I understand you value him highly but the fact of the matter is NHL GMs won't value him as highly until he plays some NHL minutes and that's probably not gonna happen in Detroit. So as it stands now, this may be as high as his value gets to other GMs. Also to your Sprong and Perron point, those guys are what they are, I think Farabee still has more in him with as young as he is and could probably produce more with some better line mates than what he had in Philly.</div></div>
If you're going to move any one it should be Walman he always joins the rush and it's holding Seider back. Wallinder was really raw he drafted but he has far more skill than Walman. Plus Farabee is a winger he won't be getting 16 min a game on the 3rd line and he won't be getting pp time. He's already 28 and his performance has more todo with his situation than anything else. As younger players like Forrester, Brink and Tippett got more comfortable that passed him on the roster. Seriously let Montreal overpay for the average 3rd liner and be happy when he puts up less points than he did this season.

Relieves Seider a bit on defensive responsibilities so he can get back to 1PP duties.</div></div>
Yeah but that isn't what is holding Seider back it's Walman they work well together because Seider stays back to allow Walman to join the rush.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lottsie10</b></div><div>Ghost would cost a lot more in terms of salary and is older. Durzi is 24 which could be a nice medium-long term piece. I don't hate the idea of Pionk</div></div>
Is Ghost really going to get that much? Without Ghost we lose the production from the right side. Bringing in Pionk we need to adjust the pairings. Walman and Seider play well together because when Walman jumps into the rush Seider stays back, which means Seider production suffers. Do we move Walman to the 2nd pair with Pionk and Chariot in to the 1st pair with Seider which will allow him to join the rush.

Yeah but I'd rather have Ghost in the 3rd pair than Chariot in the 2nd pair on his off hand. Plus his production from the back end is needed.

If Markström was the piece that got Kane and Stamkos to sign would you make this trade? It's only a pick.
But I don't see that happening so I agree Detroit passes.

Couple moves to make
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Adir4</b></div><div>Kasty can be gritty at times and has found a home as our 4th line C for the last couple seasons.
If Branny gets flipped he'd most likely land you a mid to late round pick along with a body. He is a skilled d-man, he just hasnt gotten the time to show the highest level of skillset due to the incompetence of the previous coach/GM duo. Which is a shame cuz I've always liked Branny, but his days are likely numbered as OTT is planning a big shake-up on their backend.</div></div>
Or just give Detroit a 4th for Maatta. He is being moved for the cap space.

Or maybe just resign Ghost. I've see a lot of Winnipeg ACGMs with Pionk being traded and thats the big physical dman Yzerman likes. Probably get him for about a 2nd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>He was linked to them, but I meant breaking an actual trade. I thought it was him who said Chychrun was going to LA, then it hit a snag. (Kypreos said Clarke was being dealt which was even worse lol). To be fair though, I think Chychrun would have been in LA if Pettersen was moved. It might not have been the Chychrun trade that Pagnotta got wrong though, I just remember him saying something and then it turned out to be false (which happens). It might have been an FA signing.</div></div>
That is very true!!!

Getting younger and more picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lottsie10</b></div><div>I just don't think the price is as high as you think it is. Wallinder is a bottom pair guy at best, Soderblom is a Bottom 6 guy at best, and 2nds usually result in one of those two things as well. We already have a million of those players in the pipeline, we need a young winger that can contribute on the 2nd line and that's what Farabee is. I think now is the time to start selling off some assets to acquire some talent before those assets expire.</div></div>
Both Perron and Sprong put up similar numbers with less TOI. Wallinder is easily a middle pair dman and that's because he isn't better than Edvinsson. But he is better than a 3rd line winger which is where Farabee was at the end of the season. I have nothing against Farabee but Wallinder and a 2nd is too much!!!!
