We can play him with Savard to take the more difficult minutes.
Guhle or Xhekaj with Barron, depending on whether Barron seems ready for 2nd or 3rd pair. Xhekaj makes more sense as he's already being sheltered and Guhle seems ready for top 4 at least.
Kovacevic has been playing well enough for a spot as well, which means one of Xhekaj or Harris being the 7th D on any given night.</div></div>
Harris is the #3 rookie dman in minutes played …
He is light years ahead of Xhekaj & Barron
Even Kovacevic is ahead of Xhekaj & Barron

Barron will play in the AHL next year, + I don’t see MTL trading Edmundson this TDL

TBH I didn't see that it was in the future at first so sorry if i came off rude. But still we are both correct in that he needs to up his value first.

He will need to prove he can play good and ofc his value goes up. But as of now that trade is extremly unbalanced.

Nope. Trading Roy opens a gap the Kings have no one to fill. He's literally the only defensive RHD the Kings have in the system.
I'm not saying the value is bad, just that the Kings can't afford to move Matt Roy. That 1st round pick won't turn into a contributing player for at least 3 years.

The current winning run might also be a good news to increase the value of players we wanted to trade.

Relax. If you want a lottery pick you're probably going to get one - I can't see Sam Montembault & Jake Allen combining for a .920 SV% the rest of the way. But as said upthread, settle down - 4 of your top 5 scorers are 23 or younger. It's great for a young team to have success together like this - even if the whole roster isn't ready to make a playoff run just yet, getting them to gel together like this so early on under MSL's system is a huge win. Enjoy the season instead of freaking out about a draft pick you don't even have yet and might not turn out to be half as good as any of the guys currently on your team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>amigos71</b></div><div>i mean we are not in pace to pick a top 10-15th pick... and the problem for me is not the youngster playing good it's that other good teams are not playing up to their level and that our goalies are playing in a way that they won't be able to sustain for many season and that's gonna be a big proble when they stop being good/okay goalies.</div></div>
ya i fully expect a few of the other teams around us in the standings to turn it around soon, and our goaltending has played above expectation for sure, but i dont think either of them are part of our future so them over performing may provide some trade opportunities as well. i think habs will finish in the 75-85 point range, hopefully, wont be landing a top 5 pick but also can still be sellers at the deadline.

Over a sample size of 4 games its not difficult to have those numbers on a hot team, but a backup goalie is never going to be worth more than a 3rd round pick, no matter how well they are playing. Monahan, with 50% retention, assuming he can keep this play up and not get injured, might get you a late 1st.

I wouldn't use that as the bar to determine how Boston uses/ values him. He's their pk shutdown horse and gets zero pp time. He's routinely called on to start in the d-zone because of his defensive prowess and a guy they like or there at the end of games to protect leads

Probably not. Why would Sweeney without some astronomically stupid offer trade Carlo top pair caliber RD on a really good contract for the next 4years after this one? Unless it's a deal soo good he can't turn it down. Carlo will only be 30 at the end of it.

No. Carlo is worth by himself more than that. His contract is gold by itself, that he is a top 4 shut down guy makes him more valuable, that a rival wants him makes the price so high it would be insane. Carlo’s value also increases with each cap increase.

Solid defenseman whose career was derailed by a serious injury early last season. Playing his way back into prominence. Good enough that although right-handed, has been alternating at #2 LhD with Sean Durzi (opposite Matt Roy). I'm only trading him because we have Durzi and Jordan Spence behind Doughty, Roy and Brandt Clarke, and then only for a LhD.
