Agreed would be nice to partner someone with Levi who is proven. Tough to know what GMKA wants to do with that but we will see

What are the Sabers Plans- IDEAS
Defense is wide open for Johnson to walk in next year and its been noted he sees that. Dahlin, Power, Sammy. Other than that spots can be earned. Sabres dont pay much attentiion to LD vs RD. Lots of freedom from coach.
And noone is taking the parayko contract despite what crazy blues fans have said. Not a team in the nhl will take it unless the blues are paying up.

Have fun watching your team deal with parayko into the retirement home or a very ugly buyout

Thread:
Buffalo Sabres Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Good point, and Parayko is considerably better than Risto, even in a down season for him. The guy plays the hardest D-man minutes in the league, has maybe the worst top pairing partner (pre-TDL anyway) and is top 10 in volume of total defensive stops. Is he making too many mistakes this season? Yeah. He's been better than this. Is he bad or an anchor contract? Nah. That's analytics talk from people who don't watch him play, spurn context and cherry pick numbers. Nobody said a word when he was playing near-Norris level hockey the back half of last season (while paired mostly with Scandella and Mikkola, mind you) and in the playoffs, but suddenly he's terrible when the whole team has melted down around him all year AND there's no way he could ever bounce back despite plus skating, unique physical traits and a style that isn't too aggressively physical. In a couple years, his contract will seem a bargain, at least for a while. If they finally find him a proper partner, he'll probably star again and be a bargain. If they trade him, he'll probably star again and be a bargain. It's also odd to say no one wants him when we just had a TDL littered with Parayko "rumors" and CF continually gets AGMs trading for him from at least half the teams' fans here.</div></div>
It seems youve never seen the parayko contract. No one wants to touch that

It's cute how you pretend that has ever happened here. Saying no to an overtly bad offer is not the same thing as asking for the moon. It's common sense.</div></div>
This is an over value on Parayko. Sabres wont/shouldnt consider because of that contract. One the worst contracts in the league and near unmovable

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Jokiharju, Mittelstadt and Olofsson are not the reasons the Sabres lost last night.
Not having Samuelsson or Thompson in the line up. wearing the home ice blue and playing on home ice had more to do with the defeat.
Chad, Sion Fawkes, Bill Hoppe and Mike Harrington are all useless for one reason or another.
I trust Lance more than any of them and Mellissa offers more insight than Chad, or Sion.
In general we agree that they often miss the mark.
Regardless where they play, they are both really close to NHL ready.
Completely agree that they will get a chance.
We may see that the closer to NHL ready the fewer games they may see at the beginning of the season, so they could be brought up at the end of the season and not exceed the 9 game threshold.
Absolutely the most likely.
Let's hope Johnson signs.
While he is young Levi just may be the rotation before the end of the year.
<strong>EDIT</strong> Kulich has been on fire since the end of January
21 pts and 14 goals in his last 24 games, v 19 and 7 goals over his first 31 games.
Remember he is playing against men in the AHL and he is younger than either Quinn or Peterka their first full year in the AHL.
Besides look at his picture on HockeyDB, he looks like he can stand up to the rigors of he NHL. LOL!</div></div>
I would like to clarify i dont think you just give away mitts. He does hold value right now. I honestly didnt have time to figure out a realistic trade so just put them to anywhere.

Lance,Chad lol. They are glorified armchair GMs. Unless you have been told by Terry pegula, Kevyn Adams, and donny granato, your thoughts, along with mine are useless. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. And for what its worth alot of those "lance and chads" think savoie is nhl bound next season so the argument doesnt make sense. And if kulich is making the team it still leaves them needing to make room.

Why are you giving up on UPL? He's exacly where the guy you're trading him for was 3 years ago. Just doesn't have rinne as his starter easing him in. He should be in the Ahl right now taking roch on a run. Instead bad management has him playing up here as a 3 headed monster.
Goalies get 2 years in the AHL and get called up for injury (so keep upl and find a 1b ufa who gets hurt a few times a year ie. comrie or better) upl should look better next year and if levi is destroying the AHL great he'll be our 1b in 2024 with 40 games under his belt and you'll give upl until 26 to show what he can do with 40+ nhl starts in 2 seasons. Its not like your trading him for peek value anyway and upl should at least turn out to be a decent back up.</div></div>
Ill give a serious response, since you seem to know it all. On the body, humans have hips. Goalies need there hips, its crucial. Well already at his young age he has had two major hip surgeries. Thats not normal. And it wont exactly get better, his hips are the same as a 35+ year old goalie. Im taking it you dont know much about goalie movement but there is extreme tightness in UPLs game, directly correlated to the surgeries and this has been well documented by people who actually study the position, not from some guy who thinks they know exactly what to do with this team (you dont)
