What are the Sabers Plans- IDEAS

Description
Im a caps fan but loving watching the Sabers they are so exciting and the young offense is with all the young exciting pieces reminds me of when the caps had Ovi Backy Semin MOJO and Green from the point and more. Obviously Levi answers the goaltending questions. Now my question for Sabers fans is what do yall do with Kulic, Savoie, Olofasson and Krebs because you have so many great young current forwards and prospects and not enough slots. What would you want to see have happen to them and do you bring back Okoposo and Gierginsons as if feels they have been there forever and are great leaders? Think both Savoie and Kulich can be at least 40-60 point guys next year but gotta be playing more than 4th line like Krebs has basically been all year. Also is a Ryan Johnson trade very probable? Seems as if there is no good reason for him to sign given the Left Side of the D is a log jam and gives him basically no room to grow. Let me know becuase I am interested what yall think Buffalo should do

Additional Details:
I was thinking given the blues are going through a bit of a retool, seems more likley with Faulk than Parayko given his term that they could move Faulk. The right side of the Sabers D could defenitly use improvement and Faulk on PP2 would also boost its efficency. I am thinking a move with Johnsons rights and then 1/2 of Savoie, Kulich, Olofsson or Krebs is in the Deal to make it work and it eliminates the log jam of young forwards and helps the right side of the D aswell

The Blues are not trading Faulk, and probably not Parayko unless someone blows their minds. They want to move the top 4 LDs out. Buffalo is obviously good on their left side already.

Oh... and Olofsson would NEVER be of any interest, just FYI.

Defense is wide open for Johnson to walk in next year and its been noted he sees that. Dahlin, Power, Sammy. Other than that spots can be earned. Sabres dont pay much attentiion to LD vs RD. Lots of freedom from coach.

And noone is taking the parayko contract despite what crazy blues fans have said. Not a team in the nhl will take it unless the blues are paying up.

Yeah Idk too much ab the Blues depth charts, knew yall had 2 good RHD and outside of Krug and were lacking an elite guy on the left side so maybe getting Johnson would help and just taking one or 2 of some of the young Buffalo forwards but again Idk if Armstrong has said yall are trying to quickly re-tool or just break it down. but hey winning those 18 and 19 cups for us caps and blues fan finally paid a price this year

Yeah that's why I basically said it was Faulk and who knows ab that Parakyo contract? And Im just thinking from Johnsons' perspective on if he's someone that personally is a big Left side and hates playing right he looks at this situation as not ideal but if he thinks he can play his offside he's definitely got top 4 spot for him and if you are making the jump as a good prospect like him you may want more room to grow on your desired position than behind 2 elite first overall LHD.

Winning the Cup had nothing to do with it. Trading for Leddy, and then re-signing him instead of keeping Perron, the team's emotional leader, was an epic ****-up. Same goes for not protecting Dunn.

Johnson isn't what they need, and as nice as it would be to have saaay Kulich, the Blues are already overloaded with this type of winger, present and future. The need to move out Krug and/or Leddy, and then go pick up a Gavrikov or Soucy or Graves or hell, offer sheet Byram.

Just because you repeat this over and over, that won't make it come true. This is so wildly misguided it should be embarrassing. But... here you are again.

You bring some good questions, I’ll try to give my take, apologies if I miss something.
I think Okposo is likely gone, he’s lost a step this year and although his leadership is valued, I don’t think he’ll be good on-ice next year. Girgs may be back on a one year deal. I think Oloffson is gone, he has slumped at the end of the season when this team needed to be winning, and doesn’t add much beyond sniping. We have enough skill on the wings that he should be traded in my opinion. I think Savoie comes to the NHL starting on the wing, he won’t benefit much from playing in the WHL next season. I think Kulich stays down, his all-around game still needs some work, and there’s only so many 1st/2nd year wingers that can play in a lineup and be very competitive. I think Krebs has been on the fourth line this year in part to develop his defensive game. Next year we might see him in a third line center role where his improved defensive game can help support the young wingers.
I also think Johnson could end up signing. Granato has been shown to be flexible and not sticking to left-right handed pairings. The Sabres top3 is set, but Johnson could end up beating out Jokiharju at some point to be Power’s partner, which would be good for a second contract. Johnson and Power have both played some on their offhands in college.

We can deal Olofsson. If we decide to retain I think we can get a 2nd or 3rd. Krebs ideally can be our 3rd line center. The fact that he is producing at a 30ish point pace playing 4th line minutes and no PP is impressive. His defensive game has grown and so has his physicality. Hard to say what the right thing to do with Savoie, Kulich, and Rosen is. I truly believe they are all NHL ready and if they had the opportunity to play top 9 mins and some PP time for a full 82 game season could each reach the 30-40 point mark in their rookie seasons. However, the Sabres management is patient and I am grateful for that. If Savoie doesn't make the team out of training camp he plays in the WHL, likely Winnipeg would deal his rights to some up and coming WHL team. Kulich can make it out of camp and could slot in on the 3rd line. However, I am more than comfortable keeping him in Rochester where he will be the best player on the team and having him be our call-up when the inevitable injuries occur. Rosen is in the AHL again next year. Johnson could very well still sign, the 3rd LHD spot is open for the taking as is a spot alongside Owen Power.

This is a critical offseason for the Sabres because now they finally have the organizational depth of young guys competing for a limited amount of space. How they navigate who plays where and who they end up trading will show us if Kevyn can take us from a building team to a playoff contending team. We certainly don't need to bring in any more forwards via trade/FA but RHD needs to be addressed as does a suitable goalie situation.
