This is an over value on Parayko. Sabres wont/shouldnt consider because of that contract. One the worst contracts in the league and near unmovable

Contract is unmovable. It's a futile effort to even try. Nobody will be happy with a return and he will sit on STL's roster for the next however many years. Hopefully he can be like skinner has been. Still an anchor contract, but at least it brings some value.

Good point, and Parayko is considerably better than Risto, even in a down season for him. The guy plays the hardest D-man minutes in the league, has maybe the worst top pairing partner (pre-TDL anyway) and is top 10 in volume of total defensive stops. Is he making too many mistakes this season? Yeah. He's been better than this. Is he bad or an anchor contract? Nah. That's analytics talk from people who don't watch him play, spurn context and cherry pick numbers. Nobody said a word when he was playing near-Norris level hockey the back half of last season (while paired mostly with Scandella and Mikkola, mind you) and in the playoffs, but suddenly he's terrible when the whole team has melted down around him all year AND there's no way he could ever bounce back despite plus skating, unique physical traits and a style that isn't too aggressively physical. In a couple years, his contract will seem a bargain, at least for a while. If they finally find him a proper partner, he'll probably star again and be a bargain. If they trade him, he'll probably star again and be a bargain. It's also odd to say no one wants him when we just had a TDL littered with Parayko "rumors" and CF continually gets AGMs trading for him from at least half the teams' fans here.
