Jets next year extending Scheif and Hele and others
Scheife and Helle sign for 7x $8.5, my values weren't far off, just a lot shorter :)

Chevy has shown that he is conservative and won't make big splashed unless forced to, the conservative move is to resign your own free agents.

I could see another two years of high end goaltending after this year, maybe the last few years of that money will be onerous, but Helle can mentor the Jets goalie prospects in the latter years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Next years free agency seems to be a year where there is a lot of cap room available. Do you think with your two pending free agents sign before then for only 4 years on their last pay day? Buying players out of next years FA is going to be expensive</div></div>
55 has baggage, and goalies are volatile from year to year, I don't think they would get more on the open market, but we shall see. The players probably realize the lack of interest and will take the Jets offer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Isn't that the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. I really don't think those UFAs want to return. And how has it improved the Jets? Just paying the same guys the more money.</div></div>
We haven't truly seen this version yet, with a full season of Namestnikov, Nino, Vilardi and Iafallo, but like you I don't have high expectations beyond a bubble wild card team.

The way the Jets are playing it's probably pretty late in the first round.

WPG Playoff Run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Maybe. They said one month minimum and at his age that can easily stretch out.
Either way, he isn't waiving for Winnipeg and the Jets shouldn't be moving their first on any deal short of a trade for a young star player with term.
Just go after some cheaper depth guys at the TDL. That's all the Jets need.</div></div>
Genuine question: Why wouldn't veteran UFAs waive for a playoff run with a contender? They have no obligation to stay after the season is over.

Oops, forgot to move Harkins out of there-fixed it now.
And unfortunately Heinola is the first defensive call up with the Moose until DeMelo or Dillon expire the following season.

Probably the team will look something like this next year. On paper it looks fine, but losing responsible two-way veterans like Copp and Stastny it will be worse than this years team.

Yes for sure Little is done, this was a What If exercise.
I hadn't thought of that angle but it makes sense that that the injury forced the Jets hand to seek out another center.
