Absolute best case scenario for tanking next season

I once saw him play on the same line with Claude Giroux when they were with the Olympiques.
They were awesome together.

So, according to you ...
14 points is what separates the value between what you spent on Hagel versus a full refund on Dvorak.
I'd love what you're smoking.

Point production isn't the only reason players get traded for value.
Didn't you just spend two 1st round picks + two former 2nd round picks on Brandon Hagel of all people?

Predictions for next season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>turtlemountain</b></div><div>Love Donskoi, but he doesn’t have much value after this disaster of a season. Better to try to have him bounce back and deal him at the deadline.</div></div>
That's what I'm predicting in this post.
A decent bounce-back season next year and a trade to a contender at the deadline for a 4th round pick.

Chychrun to Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Matthewslover</b></div></div>
1. The 3rd round pick would belong to the New York Islanders if Ladd retires or plays in any NHL games during the 2022-2023 season.
It would belong to the Arizona Coyotes if neither of those two things take place.
2. If Arizona trades Ladd, the Coyotes would no longer have any control over what Ladd will do during the 2022-2023 season.
3. Aside from sitting in the press box, Ladd could play for Arizona's AHL affiliate all year and Arizona would still get the pick.
As long as Ladd doesn't retire or play in any NHL games next season, the pick would belong to Arizona.

1. The trade with Arizona would have to happen first before the trade with Ottawa is made possible.
That's a bit of a stretch.
2. Arizona will hang on to Ladd to get an extra 3rd round pick from the New York Islanders.
3. Del Zotto can still play on any team's bottom pairing while Ladd would be a health scratch on most nights.
I think Ottawa and Arizona decline. .

If we no longer have any issues with signing unrestricted free agents
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hii</b></div><div>I get what you're trying to do but signing both Forsberg and Giroux would put you in a world of hurt cap wise, when Stutzle comes up with Pinto and then Sanderson and Greig the following years.</div></div>
Teams that want to win need to spend to the cap and have some tolerance for salary cap gymnastics.
We haven't been a competitive team for the last 5 years or so.
That needs to change.

Massive moves
Looking at the trade with Ottawa, it's basically ...
1. Norris for Perfetti
2. 7th overall for 13th overall, assuming nothing happens at the draft lottery
3. Ville Heinola to make up for all the value that Ottawa lost in the trade
Yeah, that's a no-go.

Getting both Nemec and Jiricek is made possible if Columbus wins the lottery but Chicago does not.
That would mean two picks in the Top 7.
