Just cause you guys overpaid for Dvorak doesn't mean the hawks are gonna make the same mistake.

There's absolutely no way LA is giving you anything of value for Hoffman.

Point production isn't the only reason players get traded for value.

Didn't you just spend two 1st round picks + two former 2nd round picks on Brandon Hagel of all people?

You mean Brandon Hagel who has 40 points compared to Dvoraks 26. Yeah we'd do that deal all over again.

      So, according to you ...

14 points is what separates the value between what you spent on Hagel versus a full refund on Dvorak.

      I'd love what you're smoking.

If that's what he said to him during the job interview, he would never been hired in the first place.

I once saw him play on the same line with Claude Giroux when they were with the Olympiques.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly why they hired him. Someone willing to admit their mistakes so others can learn from him. If he would have said "I've never made a mistake in my life" after getting fired from Montreal for messing up the rebuild, i'm pretty sure that would have stopped him from getting a job anywhere.

Yeah like it really matters, Tampa is going to be in the high 20s, So what JBB gave up for Hagel doesn't really matter he wanted him and wasn't afraid to overpay for him.

Bergevin had nothing whatsoever to do with Blake's acquisitions of Philip Danault and Victor Arvidsson.

Bergevin wasn't hired to give advice on how to be a GM, because he failed at that. He was hired to give his input on player evaluations.

Embarrassing to even post most of those trades. Other teams don't want non value players from the Habs,,,,and to give up futures also.
Why worry about Montreal tanking next season....just keep their current roster.

      1. It's not embarrassing because worse trades happen all the time.

      2. Non value players from the Habs ... you mean like Chiarot, Lekhonen and Kulak??

      3. Why worry about Toronto in the first round of the playoffs against Tampa ... just play like they are right now awesome face

Sorry you didn't read your own post. Trading multi year poor contracts and expecting something return (Hoffman and Dvorak) that's embarrassing to post as if anyone is given up anything for 5.5m Drouin

Yup and is still a RFA deal after his contract is up, JBB hopes that Brandon Hagel becomes what Blake Coleman was for them.

You really reaching back to 2007 to sell me on Byron? Come on... if OTT didn't grab him off waivers at any of the THREE opportunities they had this year there's even LESS room for him this coming season. Hard pass.

I doubt Arizona will be taking Weber's contract for free. They got a middle-6 forward prospect in Nathan Smith for taking on Little's contract which has both a much lower AAV and shorter duration.

      Disagree.

Byron has 1 year left of term. He would be at a cap hit of 1.7MM, but OTT would only have to pay him 1.4MM in real cash.

At 1.7MM, Byron is a value positive player, and could be dealt at the deadline for a pick.

Tierney/Gaudette/Gambrell/Ennis etc etc wont be on the team, OTT could do with a moveable vet like this.

It would make no sense for Ottawa to do this.
You want a vet? Sign Ennis for another year.
He'd cost us half what Byron would and scores .42 p/gp compared to Byron's .26 p/gp.
AND we know he's loved in the SENS locker room.
