Where to Start
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>Two elite players away would be my thoughts, but minimal cap room, and tough to acquire the two elite players, with scheifele and Dubois on there way out, it turns into four players needed, and with there exodus it turns into a possible free for all rush for the door. I can get behind either theory, but being Winnipeg and no bargain free agents coming and drafting middle the pack, could be tougher and tougher to turn tide on bubbling and mediocre, over possibly selling relatively high right now. Nuke Buffalo/ottawa approach I’m kind of pulling for.</div></div>
Jets struggled mainly due bad coaching and development during their 2.0 history. I say give it a go, try to retool agressively, if it doesn't work, sell the sh*t out of it including Connor, Ehlers and JMo.

Where to Start
I wouldn't blow it up, just retool. The prospect pool isn't bad, actually it's in the best shape in years. Not just Heinola but also Samberg are NHL ready. Chisholm might be as well if given more opportunity. Lucius and Perfetti are elite prospects.. Ehlers and Connor are signed, our shutdown C is signed, main D core (JMo, Pionk, DeMelo) is signed. I believe a retool is what we need.
If Scheifele is moved you can get a solid return. If Dubois doesn't sing long term then it's going to be at least those two years so you have that 1C after all even though for a short period. I believe you can pick interesting players that are underperfoming in their current teams and if given the opprotunity (and fitting the system) they can perform very well. I'm not sure, though, if our GM is that elite NHL calibre one to shake things up effectively but who knows.. I would personally target D. Strome and could think of several other "cheaper" pieces

All-in retool - cup 2023 easy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Of course you're only looking at his most recent season. Because without cherry picking, you can't make anything resembling an argument that Miller is better. Scheifele is undoubtedly the superior, more consistent player.</div></div>
You argue with cherry picking but suddenly Scheifele's defensive weakness isn't counted or "can be tought". Also, Scheifele's career FO% is 46.2, Miller's 52.7.
I still believe Scheifele's value is higher than Miller's (regardless their contracts) but I would not act like there is such a huge gap between them really.

Jets aggressive
I kinda like the general look of it but 1) signing Kadri for that amount is going to age badly IMO 2) I would rather keep a well established shutdown RHD in DeMelo than get a 2nd round pick 3) Pionk > Dumba to me, but I understand that you had to cut someone loose for the general thing 4) I can't really see OTT aiming for Schmidt 5) And I can't see MIN aiming for Wheeler 6) I'm not very sold on Pulju, he already had that top deployment (with McD as well) and proved that he is a 3rd liner to me.. Overally a very interesting take

I like Gudas a lot and I believe Stanley's value isn't really big but Gudas would be a one year rental which is not needed right now since WPG most likely isn't a serious contender. I would rather prospect or a pick

Add a Goalscorer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>Jets should accept that trade, as Svechnikov should be relatively easy to replace.
From The Athletic, February 2022:
<em>
Joey Keane, RHD, 21 (Chicago Wolves)
Keane’s got a look about him on the ice that really sets him apart out there. His posture makes him look stilted and stiff, he gets way out over his toes through his stride, and he holds his stick high on the shaft. But the reality of his game is much smoother than the look of it, with elite skating ability, a physical presence, excellent transition value (both ways), and an overall toughness and confidence about him. His skating helps him escape trouble, he plays an aggressive style, and he’s a righty with pro athleticism. Those things should make him a useful No. 4-6 D who gives a group of six some uncommon elements. He faces the same challenge many Wolves (formerly Checkers) players have before him though (just ask Bean or Haydn Fleury): An NHL team with depth on the blue line that makes it hard to break in.</em></div></div>
Yes, exactly my thoughts. Jets fans tend to overvalue Svechnikov just like pretty much everyone on the team lol. The fact he was being played with PLD and Connor doesn't make him a 1st liner

Nice deals, I love it as a Jets fan. People tend to overvalue Pulju a bit while he is a 3rd line player (who actually plays quite decent defensive game)
