<a href="/users/brenfox31" target="_blank">@brenfox31</a> <a href="/users/Missouri" target="_blank">@Missouri</a>
Welcome to the GM Game, if you want to make a trade with Chicago, please let me know.
I am highly interested in a few players off both of your teams!

One week ago Nylander and Pesce
<a href="/users/brenfox31" target="_blank">@brenfox31</a>
Congrats on becoming Anaheim’s GM. I wasn’t sure where to reach you since I don’t know what your Twitter handle is/you don’t have your team page up.
If you do have a Twitter handle, shoot me a follow @MrBooth_7 so we can start discussing some deals. If not, perhaps we can discuss on here until you get your team page/Twitter set up.
Cheers,
Red Wings General Manager

What the last 3 cuts should be
Nylander's contract being compared to pastas is WITH the cap increase, not before. Here is a cap chart:

Proving the leafs don??t have cap issues
OK, folks don't have to Marleau's brain to know he isn't waiving his NMC when 2019/20 will likely be his his last chance to win a Cup. And his chance to win is with the Leafs not Arizona.
If nothing else you have proven the Leafs do have cap issues.

Braun because Sj is too OP
1) You must not have watched any preseason, Borgman was terrible in his last game against Montreal.
2) Rosen may be the best defenceman of the preseason for TO so far, Dermott played 1 game and looked fast and determined but a tad wild.
3) Ozhiganov is a Babs favourite, it would not be surprising if he gets time with Rielly at some point this season.
4) So we are going after a team's 3RHD and want him to be a top pairing guy. No thanks
5) Nylander signs for 7 or 8 years or his tenure with TO will likely be very short. If he get's bridged, he'll have a couple great years and then TO can unload him for a massive windfall. He'll never get huge money in TO. Matthews and Tavares are rightly way ahead of him in the pay scale for the team.

Life without Matthews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brenfox31</b></div><div>Lol "everybody knows that Arizona will offer sheet a contract they can't match"???? Since when??? They will 100% try to sign Matthews, and he likely will sign a smaller deal to TML than Arizona, especially if they do well this year. I would say that Arizona will offer sheet, but I don't think Matthews is going anywhere. Nylander would get traded (after being signed) before they let him go, and even that probably won't happen. Dubas knows that a Matthew-Tavares situation mimics a Crosby-Malkin situation and we all know how that worked out (3 cups).
Also you have 7 million in cap space on this, but can't sign Matthews and get rid of someone else? He would want 10-11 million sure, but if Marner and nylander both get 7.5 i would be shocked. I would say 7 each for them, that leaves 9 for matthews Plus additional for sending down engvall and Brooks. And Ozhiganov won't get 2.5 so they lose Gardiner.</div></div>
You suggested that the Leafs pay Matthews 9m, let's say Arizona offers 14m....,.,do the Leafs match? It isn't a question of the Leafs being not fair in their fair, it's whether another time offers "too much".
But you are correct, a team can present an offer sheet, it doesn't mean a player will sign it. He then has more leverage to get more from his team.

just some lines and stuff
Haula is too good for the 4th line. Also, switch Smith and Marchessault. Smith played on the right most of last year and did well there. Haula can play 3rd line LW with Eakin and Nosek. Scratch Gusev and put Bellemare on 4th line center.

Nice dreaming. The Sharks will never land Karlsson and only give up Teirney, Dylan, Norris, Barcer, and a few picks. Get real!!! ...oh wait... OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!

Duchene and Karlsson (NOT Nylander this time) OTT/TOR trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brenfox31</b></div><div>I think that the deal is fair, but I have to question if Duchene is even much better than Staal in the next year or so. I think the Leafs could probably add one of their goalies and get a low pick in return to the Spurgeon deal</div></div>
I think Duchene will be. Staal is 33, and I'm not confident he will put up 40 goals again. Duchene is only 27 (he'll be 28 next year), and has put up solid numbers. The basis for swapping the two is that we really need Duchene's speed. We were pretty slow last season and it really showed in the Winnipeg series. That's a good idea about the Leafs, I like Pickard a lot I could add him in for maybe the Wild's extra 5th from Washington?
Edit: to add to the Duchene bit, he'd be playing with Granlund and Zucker who can keep up with Duchene's speed and could feed him the puck/finish on Duchene's feeds. I think he's a great fit for the Wild even though we need right shot forwards and he's a lefty
