Pens 19-20 Final Trades
NOBODY IS TAKING JACK JOHNSON CONTRACT FOR THIS SMALL OF A RETURN. You need to add a 1st round pick and prospect minimum. A team upgrading their 6th round pick to a 5th round pick is lent doing it
Try JJ 1st and jarry for a 5th round pick

Matthews is comparable to eichel mackinon ROR when it comes to being a ppg player. Goals he compares to Ovi kucherov or Tara? How close to those guys did he sign?

Offer sheet and getting Aho
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CameronLeafs</b></div><div>Matthews has worse numbers than Marner, yes. just pure points. But by that logic Jake Guentzel is far better than Malkin, and Huberdeau is better than Ovechkin, Tavares, Schiefele, etc...
On your list, I would agree with McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, Barkov, and the only winger in the NHL potentially worth 4 first rounders is probably Kucherov.</div></div>
Haha I would hope hubbber is better than Ovechkin he’s a lot younger. Ovi at his age was miles better. We are talking about a 33 year old winger who’s maybe missed 10 nhl games.
Gentz has the 2nd most 5v5 goals last year. He a product of Crosby but lucky for Pittsburgh they have Crosby hah
I compared two players that are the same age hah marner can play 4v5 5v5 5v4 and drives the play well. Those comparisons you just made aren’t as Accurate as you would think. Harsh reality is that marner and Matthews are equally talented as each other. Matthews can score goals marner can set up goals. Both are 80-90 point players. Neither are close to Crosby or Ovechkin at that same age. Hell Ovi is 33 and leading the nhl in goals ha come on man. You’re talking once in a life time players Ovechkin and Crosby. Matthews isn’t on that level. He never will be. Got off topic there but it’s true.

There’s more but teams like the penguins haven’t had a 1st round pick besides this year in awhile. And won cups and have been one of the most feared teams in the nhl. People tend to glorify late round 1st

Caps pissed him off imo. They called Stephenson up over him and he was clearly the better player. He would have went to the khl over DC ha

I know you said no salary and Fenton said he won't trade Zucker unless it's a no brainer but Gusev is a no brainer to me. Would something around Zucker even work? We could take on one of those defenseman signed to larger money and send Seeler your way (cheap and solid 3rd pairing LD). If that's not enough maybe Greenway could be added but we'd probably have to take on more salary... Idk Zucker, Greenway, and Seeler for Gusev and Holden maybe?
Edit: otherwise maybe Greenway is enough to get it done. He has a ton of potential</div></div>

I'm especially excited to see how Leipsic and Dowd play together. They have some sneaky offensive talents. I'm also on board with getting rid of Stephenson. Really was invisible last year. Getting a fourth or fifth for him would be solid. Stock up on picks for the coming draft, refill the prospect pool, and prepare for the retirement of our current stars.
This could be a team ready for a deep run.</div></div>

This has nothing to do with washington. They were out muscled out the playoffs this year. They need to be able to match that level of intensity.
Has 0 to do with with washington. Just like signing Gudbranson had 0 to do with washington and everything to do with the games against the Sharks and then Philly and teams targeting their star players.
If there is one team that lives in another teams fan bases heads, it's the penguins living in the caps head. Of course when we win 3 cups going right through you, It's why when we meet in the playoffs you hold your breath and penguins get ready to lift another cup.</div></div>
