Needing a rd
Not sure if I would like having 3 undersized LHD starting, I like all of them as players but even having Krug and Perunovich in the same line-up is less than ideal.

Yall are way way too pessimistic
We still have the deepest front nine in the league. Just makes you wonder if we didn’t go 500 over the past 5/6 weeks if front office would have paid the premium for a chyckrun/lindholm. I still think at our best we can beat anyone but we haven’t shown we can consistently reach those levels as of late.

Bozak has 3 goals and is minus 11. Brown’s game is built for a top 9 forward that isn’t good enough to be a top 9 nine forward and Mac is just not good.

Leddy is an upgrade on Scandella fs
Mikkola a spot isn’t getting dropped
Sunny is the cap casualty so next year we can buyout Scandella
Lastly Walman would block Scotty P on that bottom pair so it helps out there
Also witokski adds that grit you wanted</div></div>
You mean the guy that hasn't played a game for the redwings this year is going to add grit to our line-up?

I don't understand this trade. We still have holes along the left side of our D, even less clarity on the 4th line and a big piece of our identity is out the door. Oh and one less second rd pick. I just don't get how we improve. I'm trying to stay calm incase another trade comes in but if this is it, pack it up gents were not winning a round this year.

Unfortunately I think you are right. I don’t know if any moves will be made at this point given how inflated values are. I’m still clinging onto hope that DA will work some magic for Chyckrun. Maybe the recent lbi lowers his value just enough for us to get him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>That seems to be the hope based on the comments I read from Schenn and Faulk. They said it takes hard work but can switch with just one game. I have faith but there have been underlying issues all season that have been mostly covered up by an amazing PP and Husso being a brick wall. I just want to see them hit their peak and then maybe Army will find a way to add at the TDL. Or not, I just hate the Jekyll/Hyde that the Blues always give us.</div></div>
Every team goes through stretches, even the media's ponyboy Colorado has lost 3 of 4. I think what's most frustrating is looking at all of the separation we could have put between us and Dal/Nsh/Min. We could have essentially locked in home ice 1st round.

Ehhh I would have agreed up until about 2 weeks ago. turnovers, particularly in our own zone, lead to most goals against early on, and they still are a issue (barbys pass in the 3rd prime example) but as of late we are getting smoked along the boards. Not just talking about the hit buchy took tn, but we are losing board battles in all 3 zones. That’s why we can’t hardly sustain any offense or cycle the puck and have to rely on scoring off the rush. Not saying we have an identity crisis after a 2 week stretch of bad hockey but this might be a deeper issue with roster construction. Sunnys inability to execute at 80% health is a huge issue we shouldn’t overlook either. Anyways, we will learn a lot over the next 12 days or so. Not sure if the rumors are true but looking at a guy like Owen Tippett might makes sense on the ever changing 4th line.

Maybe, neighbours looked pretty solid for a young guy. The team also really like how he carried himself off the ice. I wouldn't say he's untouchable like Kyrou and Thomas might be but Neighbours, Perunovich and a 1st might be a stretch. Probably not something i'd see DA doing.

Deadline
Trade aside my confidence that Perron can be a first line forward forward is waning. Does he take on the role steen took in 19 and play on the 4th line with bozak and Kostin/sunny/barby? He just can’t seem to hang on to pucks in the o-zone which was a staple of his in past years. Tonight should be a good indication of how much we can rely on saad ror and Perron and a viable top line.

LDs on my wishlist
Doesn't Scandella have to go in any deal for cap purposes? And if your aversion to Chyckrun is overpayment, wouldn't a 1st and 2nd plus a top prospect for Gavrikov be overpaying as well? It might not be, I don't know much about him. TBH don't know much about Graves, Lindholm or Soucy. I just want someone that is physical around the net, maybe gavrikov fits that mold the best.

Graves
Is Graves good? I honestly don't know much about him outside of his time on the Avs. I didn't realize he is 6'5". Is he physical though? I seem to recall someone who is similar in height but might be the least aggressive player in hockey. Bottom line is we need to find a cost effective top4 LHD that wouldn't be a liability come playoffs. I don't think Scandella, Mikkola or Walman fit that bill and thats a lot of pressure to throw on a rookie in perunovich. Should be a spicy couple of weeks before TDL

Brutal to watch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Feedback from Devils fan.
1. I didn't think #6 looked as out of position at times as #41.
2. Binnington didn't look bad (the McLeod goal was flukey as the hooking actually made it look like a fake shot and he whiffed. The Hischier to Sharangovich goal probably isn't stopped by anyone. The Vesey goal, who knew he had that in him). Binnington still played better than Gillies.
3. Kostin looked great. Physical and was finding open space. Devils defense were clearly bothered by him when he was on the ice.
4. Thomas/Kyrou seemed to take the night off. Thomas had a couple good rushes in 3rd period, but otherwise didn't hear their names much.</div></div>
I heard their names after turning the puck over a bunch. Kostin had a solid game, needed to or he was going to lose his spot. Our PP was also ugly but that wasnt a huge shock after a long break. To me it was the gap coverage through the neutral zone. Way too many slot shots against. That backhand goal was a beauty though, almost Datsyukian

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sicarius</b></div><div>There’s no real point in debating him. Every GM in the league would consider Chychrun a top pairing D and yet the armchair QB knows best.</div></div>
Exactly. Who cares where other GM's might put him. We know his exact slot with the blues. That's all that matters. The question Army has to figure out is whether giving up all those assets is worth the difference between Chychrun and Parayko vs Mikkola and Parayko as the top shutdown duo. I say got for it, just dont get rid of Sunny. Stick perunovich in there instead.

Mid-Season Report Cards
Have to think Perron is still messed up from his concussion earlier this year. He just is not clicking with any line that he is put on. The “top” line of ROR Perron and Schenn/saad hasn’t been able to cycle the puck or create any sustained offense in the o-zone, particularly as of late, which is a huge concern for me. I agree with almost all of these assessments, I’d maybe move Parayko up cause he has had some impressive games this year just not consistently. If there was a lower grade for Scandella I’d would also put him there. He looks atrocious.

Half Way Thoughts
Hmm sounds like Gavrikov would cost something similar to what parayko would have cost 4ish years ago. I thought I read somewhere Gavrikov was healthy scratch for a while, must have been confusing him with someone else. The last thing DA is going to do is overpay for anyone, regardless if its Chychrun/Giordano/Chirot/Gavrikov. I agree with A_K.. it would be mightily frustrating watching Scandella single handedly ruin the deepest forward group we've had maybe ever. In a perfect world we find someone like Roman Polak was for us in 2011-12, that is also cap friendly and is left-handed. If anyone knows someone out there that fits that description lets get him on the phone and show him where to sign.
