had the same; some would say burakovsky could play instead of Jost (on LW). Anyways, don't be surprised to see Jost/Compher as 2C for couple of games over the year

Jost around 20 goals, 15 assists.
Kadri around 25 goals, 30 assists.
Donskoi around 15 goals and 35 assists.

Compher would be with Burakovsky on 3rd line.

I don't understand why a team that trying to make the playoffs...they were two points out of the playoffs last season would trade two important parts of their team for futures. Not the message you want to send to your fans and other players. Vacant cap space and picks that may or not be NHLer three years from now isn't what team do.

My bad, 22/23-45. Somewhere in the 65 point region is what I meant.

All of Max Domi's analytics suggest it was an unsustanible total, I'd expect him to regress a little, I'm not saying he isn't going to be good, but maybe 22-23-45 is more accurate than what he did last year, although depending on his linemates, he could very well regress further than that. I'd expect him to stay down the middle to start the season, because if it ain't broke don't fix it right? If he starts to fualter though, I can see him being moved back to the left wing

What to expect from Max Domi
1. he would be winger with Danault-Kotkaniemi-Poehling in the middle.
2. I dont think he is inconsistent. That happens to everybody.
3. Expect a drop-off in his game to like 60 points on Kotkaniemis LW. He is very good passer so pointwise something like 20+40 points. Expect similar game from him tho. No dropoff there.

2019-2020 trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRudeRune</b></div><div>Fair point.</div></div>
Everyone loves Petry in Montreal. He's showing skilled highlights (That puck batted in the air looked too easy for him) and is a great presence in the team. He's a great skating defenseman, watch carefully clips when he pitch to create an odd man rush and check his first 3 strides how powerfull and smooth they are. He'll be 33 for his next contract talks and I don't think that we should keep two aging dmans when so much is coming in that pool.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>It's simple: Brook, Fleury and Juulsen will soon be NHLready. But you're right : He's solid. I think MTL should trade him next summer instead. Also, I don't think this trade would happen because RD is not a FLO need. MTL will eventually find a team with a weakness at the RD and I would be disappointed if MTL doesn't get a 1st pick.</div></div>
I think if it happens it's this year TDL, that's when you'll get full value because the other team would have him for two playoff run.

Starting Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pullero</b></div><div>Defidnedĺy need to switch Danault and Kotkaniemi. No way he's ready to be 1c.</div></div>
Agreed he's not
he played almost 22 months straight with no break between representing FIN , Draft Columbine and post draft rookie camp followed by training the rest of last summer for an NHL debut . come mid Feburary we had to start scratching him because he was basically in jeopardy of injury because he didnt have the same strength for bracing himself for hits especially along the boards , Cedric Paquette took him out hard then threw him to the ice after as he was falling , he looked beat after that his season was over in Claude's Eye's as he would not risk injurying the 18 year old
KK is a good season away from being top 6
Poehling or Domi will be rotating 2nd Center duties
i think you might see Poehling start on Domi's RW in Camp but come 10-15 games into the season
we'll see Poehling take over Center as he's just a dominant faceoff center and we need guys capable of Danault's level of success .
KK didnt have the 3 years Poehling had to prepare Physically and Mentally for North American hockey so it will take him slightly longer to learn to play Center at this speed .
Poehling on the other hand got drafted off his ability as a 2nd Center bulk faceoffs defensive Center compared to a Plekanec's at the draft by Timmons .
the real X factor here though is Suzuki as he's coming into a situation in MTL just like his friend and training partner Marner was in TML his first year pro .
if he gains Chemistry with Either Danault , Poehling ,KK or Domi its likely he'll stay up as he's turning Pro this year so its 1 year off his ELC either way with the only clear upside to an AHL Start is they intend on using him at Center not Wing (something i find very unlikely as he's simply like Marner a better winger despite being a good Center )

Idea is to try out Suzuki, JHS, Beauvillier with Poehling / Kotka on youth exploit style lines.
Caufield/Ylonen are 1/2 years out, and Montreal could pickup a replacement who would be ready around the same timeline this draft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Yeah. Good arguments. It's just sad MTL always aims at average guys and not elite. I get the feeling we have two 2nd lines and two 3rd lines since 10 years. And while MTL had good elite D during this time in Subban, Markov and Weber, the future looks like a lot of top-4-but-not-top-2 defensemen in future-Weber, Mete, Romanov, Kulak and Brook. The past=strong D and weak O. The future=strong O and ok D.</div></div>
They're getting there. This team is accruing a lot of talent. That usually means they'll be able to trade for elite talent or grow their own pretty soon.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>IMO, since Dobson is a project, it would be weird to consider MTL needs for this season. Of course LD is weak right now for MTL, but Mete, Kulak and Romanov are the future LD and it is ok. We can also add Struble and Norlinder. On RD, Weber and Petry are taking many minutes, but Weber's icetime should decrease of at least 1 minute/game by year to stay effective and I would prefer trading Petry while he still has value (this year of next). I don't think Brook or Fleury can become 1st pair defensemen, so Dobson would gradually take this place while Weber gradually slows down, and the evolution could look like this:
2019-20: Weber(23m) - Petry(22m) - Folin/Dobson(15m)
2020-21: Weber(22m) - Brook/Dobson(20m) - Brook/Dobson(18m)
2021-22: Dobson(21m) - Weber(21m) - Brook/Fleury(18m)</div></div>
Yeah that's true. I just feel the right side without Dobson is going to be fine. Other than Romanov, Habs left side isn't that strong. Mete is what he is. Kulak too. Romanov may not even be top pairing material either. Just a solid top 4. habs need that top pairing lefty more than a righty IMO. But yeah adding a righty wouldn't hurt that's for sure.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Well it's interesting to see two different points of view. One says this deals is at the advantage of MTL and the other at the advantage of NYI. This makes me think this trade is pretty even.
Suzuki has been drafted 13th and Dobson 12th (even). Both were the best player of their team (even), and those two teams were very good (even. Suzuki was the OHL-playoffs-MVP with 42 points (3rd best amount since 2010, better than Tkachuk, Scheifele and DeBrincat), while Dobson put 29 points as a defenseman, and he is one year younger.
For that last part, everything depends on how they will develop. If Suzuki develops as a kind of Tatar/Drouin and Dobson as a kind of Pietrangelo, well Dobson is the best one. If Suzuki is more like O'Reilly/Scheifele and Dobson is more like Vlasic/Ristolainen, well Suzuki is the best one. No one can be sure. That's why, to convince NYI, I proposed to add Juulsen. It represents less risk for them and Juulsen is a little more NHL-ready. But I'd understand if Lamoriello declines that... It is just a really good offer.</div></div>
They both project to be studs. Whatever they end up being heavily depends on development so it can go any way. Simply basing it on value right now though. Both guys are even in value and they'd be a 1 vs 1 IMO. Adding Juulsen would be like Habs adding Ho Sang to deal, just like that. Doesn't really make sense.
Not saying the trade makes sense for both teams in terms of needs and what not though. Habs don't really need another RHD right now. That may be the least needed position for them other than goaltending. Same thing goes for NYI. Do they really need another center/winger?
If Dobson was a lefty however......Habs would be all over that. That's their Achilles heel right now.

You also have to gauge team need. MTL really don't need to add another RD, and they do need someone like Suzuki in their roster (right shooting forward, either at Center or RW, who can play the PP). but I agree with F50marco, no need to add Juulsen here, but if something had to added, it definitely wouldn't someone of his caliber.
