Game 3 - Internal changes

I don't think it was a Hawks challenge. The league auto-reviews everything in the last minute of the game

Leafs 2021 roster and Taxi squad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PittsburghBob69</b></div><div>The leafs offered Dermott 895k. If someone offers him 1.395M or over the leafs will let him walk and take the 3rd round pick compensation. NO way they pay him 1.75M. Obviously he didn’t sign the 895k offer sheet yet but he’s not gonna get more than 1M/year from Toronto. And he’s not arbitration eligible.
And Mikheyev is arbitration eligible and has a hearing next week I believe. He will probably win something like 1.5-2M a year</div></div>
I think you are underestimating Dermott's abilities.
Also, there was apparently a trade offer from Florida that would send Weegar to TOR and Dermott and Johnsson to FLA. The leafs said no and then proceeded to trade Johnsson under his value for a cap dump. Obviously Dermott was the reason they said no to that trade.
The leafs like Dermott and they want to keep him. He's worth the 1.75
As for Mikheyev, the average of his ask and the leafs offer going into arbitration is 1.85 so i went slightly above that to account for the arbiter's judgement.

Yep this is rost + TAXI SQUAD. If you put the taxi squad in the minors then the roster is actually under the cap

Entry Draft Discussion Thread
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>This thread can be used to discuss anything around the NHL Draft, or anything else happening in the NHL. I’ll star with a few prediction questions:
Who goes higher?
- Stützle or Byfield
- Quinn or Holtz
- Sanderson or Drysdale
- Rossi or Raymond
- Reichel or Peterka
Where does Askarov go?
Which player(s) will be picked much higher than expected?
</div></div>
-Stutzle
-Holtz
-Drysdale
-Raymond
-Peterka, barely
-Hopefully Carolina, but honestly anwhere in the Top 20
-Defenseman. You have the big 4(Drysdale, Sanderson, Guhle, and Schneider), Poirier is 1st round talent offensively but a risk defensively, and then Grans has inched his way into the 1st round, but I feel like more than 6 GMs are looking for defense so players such as Wallinder, Barron, O'Rourke, or Mukhamadullin can force their way into the 1st as well and push out some forwards that might be better than them.

So what does this look like now?
Good deal if all the conditions are met on those picks, ottawa would receive 3 first rounders and a second.Unfortunately the worst case scenario is that the Sens get one first and a second. In that case I really hope they have a plan to get this team back on track

Biggest surprise per team
Biggest surprise from Toronto would be McElhinney, not Reilly. We knew how good Rielly was, but McElhinney has been pure wizardry this year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Doug7004</b></div><div>Can't think of any reason that JVR and/or Tavares take anything less than a 6-7 year contract with anybody! At this point, team preference, (winning) and long term security (perhaps with even less $), will get these signed. Probably bang on with value of Leivo, and why I think he might be part of a bigger package, but can't imagine Ottawa and all of their team and payroll issues taking on Martin? Pageau not a real fit it Toronto anyway! A bottom 6 center, can easily come from within, (Aaltonen,), or from veteran low end UFA at a whole lot less $!</div></div>
Changed the scenario a bit. I bumped JvR up to a 6 year deal instead of 3. Realistically I could see him being content with 6x6 so that he can stay in TO. He loves it here. I agree that my 2 year deal with Tavares was shortsighted, so i changed that to 4 years, still at $9.5M. Personally I think that if Tavares signs in TO he will be signing to win the cup within the next 2-3 years. If they win he'll probably stay longer, and if they dont win I could see him walking, being 31 at that point. I believe the 9.5M is justified because a high caliber player like Tavares knows that if he plays in Toronto he will make bank on sponsorships and endorsements, so a slight paycut on what he is worth wouldn't affect him too bad and he wouldn't be hindering the signing of the 2019RFA crop (Matthews, Marner, Kapanen).
I agree that Pageau doesn't fit, got near the end of building this team and realized I didn't have a 4C. After revisiting it I signed Aaltonen as the Leafs 4C and brought Moore back for another year(despite Babcock's discontent with him). Aaltonen would be the designated 4C and Moore would probably end up splitting time with him in the case that Aaltonen isn't an immediate fit.
