Why would a rebuilding Detroit want Anisimov? He still does have a modified no trade clause also and I highly doubt he would want to be shipped off to Detroit.

Toews trade
Toews is not getting traded. He completely changed the course of the franchise and they value him way too highly for a lot of reasons. Because of the way they value him, they would never consider trading him unless it was for an absolute no brainer slam dunk and that trade you suggested is the complete opposite.

You're insane if you think the Hawks would trade their first rounder along with Saad.

Why do people continue to believe that Carlson will sign a contract for anything less than 7 years.

defense wins championships
If you're going to get Carlson its going to most likely 8 years by 8 mil. Its going to be a bidding war for him in free agency unless he stays in Wash at a discount bc their cup run right now. If anything, the Hawks are trying to surround their "core" guys with younger players so trading a lot of youth away for older veterans really doesn't make sense to be honest. You're completely revamping the roster here.

Getting OEL some friends
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FullSend</b></div><div>The chances Tavares signs in the Dessert or relatively slim, he wants to stay as close to home as possible, if he’s signing far from home, sure.. he will take a pay rise of 12 mill, but it should also be noted he wants to go to a contender if that’s so, or why would he leave the Islanders.
The Karsson trade isn’t bad, maybe a bit more to Ottawa. But would he accept a trade to Arizona? Because he has a no trade clause.
Don’t think Montreal will fully take the cap of Kruger</div></div>
Don't think they'll take Krugers full cap hit? Why on God's earth would they trade a second round pick for Kruger when he's been traded for nothing from the blackhawks to the knights then to carolina, then put in the AHL, then traded to Arizona...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lly</b></div><div>Saad going to be 26 in October, but yes, JVR is older. JVR wouldn't really ~cost more because they're not giving up their #1 d-man to sign JVR. We know Carolina is listening to every offer, but a #1 d-man like Slavin on a good contract is going to cost more than Saad and a swapping of picks whose value difference is realistically none. Plus, Carolina has already said they don't want to move any of their top 4 d-men unless a legit 1C is coming back somehow and their targets are supposedly guys like Tavares and O'Reilly.
Also, if they're looking for a scoring winger, they're about to get one with the #2 pick.</div></div>
I cant see them turning down Saad for Faulk or Hanifin though. Slavin was a reach yes

The Blueprint - this is it guys!!!
I like the trades, but Holtby may not be the best idea. You don't want to have over 10 mil in cap hits just for your goalies especially with a young and upcoming core like Carolina has. Theyre going to need to sign these guys long term.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burgerboss92</b></div><div>Just saying, if CAR needs a scoring winger, why wouldn't they just try to get JVR as an UFA? They have money to give him a big contract, and also his brother Trevor is also in there, which make it even more tempting for him to sign in there. They'd be much better off by just keeping Slavin and getting JVR as a free agent. Saad as a scoring winger isn't that much of an upgrade - only 18 goals this year, while JVR scored almost 40.</div></div>
You're definitely right, they can sign JVR, but he is 30 while Saad is 24. Fits in with their young core a lot better and like you said he will cost a lot more than Saad.

I don't think it is completely unrealistic though. Carolina desperately needs a scoring winger and Saad is that. Their GM has said a ton this offseason that they were just too easy to play against and Saad is definitely not easy to play against so there is a fit with him going there I just don't know what D would be coming back to the Hawks and personally I would want Slavin if I am giving up Saad and a first. I think Saad without anything attached can get the Hawks Faulk.

Actually Duchene could have more value next year if he has an excellent bounce back year. A team could acquire him at the draft and immediately sign him to an extension, like the Ryan O'Reilly deal. At this point in the summer it looks like Duchene will start the year with the Avs so it seems Sakic is banking on a big year from Duchene. That's a pretty big gamble though..</div></div>
Its a huge gamble. Duchene has shown a lot of frustration amid all the trade talks and if he has another down year Sakic is screwed with his biggest trading chips. What do you think of the other trades though?

Considering Arizona just acquired Anti Raanta and they see him as a starter, I doubt they would want Mrazek. They are also in a youth movement there and have been for a while, so they would never give up a young promising forward in Max Domi.
