Different scenarios
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dca919</b></div><div>It's not the trade value is off with Detroit. It's a problem of organizational fit.
RHD: (2019 1st rounder) Seider, (2016 2nd & current 1st pair RHD) Hronek, (2017 2nd) Lindstrom, (2019 2nd) Antti Tuomisto, (2020 2nd) William Wallinder, (2020 3rd) Donovan Sebrango, or (2020 3rd) Eemil Viro. Plus the 2021 loaded defensive draft class (where the Wings will pick in the top 8 almost guaranteed).
I don't think Boychuk would be happy as a 3rd pair/ healthy scratch on a rebuilding team.</div></div>
+ Troy Stetcher
I’d ask for more if I was Yzerman, we are seeing how critical cap space is with Schmidt going for a third round pick and Toews two second rounders.

You guys basically traded Johnsson for nothing and think other teams will pay this much for Kerfoot?

ya that is nice and all but you have no cap space to sign Petterson and Hughes you will only have enough cap space to sign one of them with this roster

Only team that does it is Arizona and boy this isn’t the direction I’d want to go. We essentially take on cap dumps (JJ) and retain 7M on MAF for Krebs/Hague at the expense of 4OA, 32OA, Cholowski, Svechnikov, and a future 2nd.

Are we sure the person posting this is a Wing's fan? Last week a couple of Sabers fan's were discussing Mittelstadt being a bust. Since Mantha just bought a house in Detroit I think it's safe to say he won't be going anywhere soon.

Neither is Marc Staal ... NORMALLY. However a flat cap and key players to sign makes him one.
I agree completely that there’s lots of value in him but I do not believe that teams with oodles of cap space (DET OTT NJ etc) are just gonna take these players without incentives. Blues have to make room to sign a couple guys: Dunn and AP. We shall see what happens. Bozak has no trade protection that I’m aware of.
Steen does.

Absolutely zero chance of Wings trading a potential 1st overall pick and probably a tip 5 pick for a 33 year old defenseman that will be gone in two years when the rebuild will be further along .
Not sure why you believe that Wings would even entertain the thought.

Detroit passes on the Moore trade. Moore isn't a solution he's more of a band aid or stop gap and with 3 years left on his contract is more than Detroit is looking for.

there is literally no reports of him saying he wants that</div></div>
Dude stop being in denial, He basically said in that interview that he wouldn't take no one year deal, He's been taking short term deals enough and wants to get paid. There been talk that he wants the Roman Josi deal so yeah he wants to get paid. if he were willing to take a cheap deal he'd already be resigned by Boston instead of heading to free agency.

2021 Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Dermott was our best defender when muzzin was out both during the season and in the play in. He is like a jake gardiner who can play defence and hit.... on either side.
Sandin won’t develop much more in the ahl. I would take him on the third pair and give him some extra shifts. 15min in the nhl is better for him than 23 in the ahl.
Keep Lilly and move Holl. Saves over 1m and I bet liljegren would look better with muzzin than Holl.
Lehtonen is the wildcard. I don’t know much about him. Is he going to be a 3rd pair guy who gets 40 games this year? Or is he going to look great and play with Rielly?</div></div>
The Leafs cannot compete with the elite teams of the NHL the way they are. Dermott isn't very good. Liljegren is a pipe dream. Sandin is two years away from being a top four defender.
There is too much money invested in the offence.
Change is in order, or you can expect the same results.

32nd for Dermott is a fantasy. If Glendening is going back then the add is minimal at best cause Wings could get a 2nd or 3rd for him at the deadline which is the most they'd pay for Dermott

UFAs RFAs and trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nighthawk</b></div><div>If Jake isn’t an improvement for the Wings then they must be loaded with nobodies on RW.
He’s easily a 2RW on the Wings & if bounced to 3rd then something good is happening.
Other than Larkin nobody touches his speed.
Stecher is a very solid 3rd pairing D man that replaces Biega & can play top 4 if needed.
Roussel is very solid & would help the Wings over what they already have.
Wings problem is a horrible cap situation for a rebuilding team that on,y needs time.
In the end as my explanation says tweajs could be bone. The Wings are sad & these players woukd all help in the meantime. In goal is another big need.
Like I said make a counter offer instead of judgement that doesn’t achieve anything.
Use the ACGM to see this proposal thx</div></div>
Wings have Mantha and Zadina as top 6 RW's. So no Jake would be a bottom 6 F even on Detroit.
Biega will be Wings 7th D at best, Hronek, Seider, and Gustav Lindstrom will be their RD's next year. All are young and have potential.
Roussel might be marginally better than another 4th liner Wings would trot out but he's certainly not going to make any meaningful impact
Wings have like 35M in cap space so not sure what you're talking about being in a terrible cap situation. They have a couple bad contracts in Abdelkader and Nielsen but other than that their cap outlook looks great and there's a good chance they'll buy out one of those contracts this offseason.
I won't offer a counter because Detroit doesn't really want any of these guys at the cost of valuable future assets. They've finally started to get some of the old, useless vets off the books and make room for their prospects to play. No sense in cluttering the roster up again with marginal players with little or no upside.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nighthawk</b></div><div>Jake is a known quantity & room to get even better.
The 2nd is more than fair fir unknown proven.
Adding a RW is big help.
Stecher & Roussel amount to the 2nd maybe. It could be a 3rd.
Stecher is young RHD & an upgrade on Biega & can play minutes if needed with injuries.
Roussel is a solid vet & plays with energy as a 3rd or 4th line winger.
Can add some scoring & mentorship during the rebuild.
Berggren is still unproven but I project his ceiling as a 3LW</div></div>
Jake is what he is atp, a dime a dozen bottom 6 F. Stetcher is decent but Detroit kinda set at RD with Hronek, Seider pegged for top 4 duty. They'd maybe have some interest in him alone but not for the 32nd pick. Roussel is another bottom 6 F the Wings don't need or have room for
