Description
An attempt to show fans the cap issues they might see isn’ t what it appears to be & can be managed making moves such as this or close.

Podkolzin signed May 1st 2021
-hidden in Utica for season start purposes to replace Baertschi
Juolevi & Rathbone platoon in & out
Francesco Aqualini can eat Eriksson’s retainment to make fans laugh
-there is probably an add needed for Eriksson
Tanev is a 1yr deal looking ahead to the e-draft

The cap pays bonuses & allows flexibility for for future decisions. Arguments on trades I expect but this cap space allows it to be done in some form kr manner.

Detroit declines, not sure why you'd think a rebuilding team would be interested in a deal like that

You need to add something to entice Ottawa to take Eriksson

Jake is a known quantity & room to get even better.
The 2nd is more than fair fir unknown proven.
Adding a RW is big help.

Stecher & Roussel amount to the 2nd maybe. It could be a 3rd.
Stecher is young RHD & an upgrade on Biega & can play minutes if needed with injuries.
Roussel is a solid vet & plays with energy as a 3rd or 4th line winger.
Can add some scoring & mentorship during the rebuild.

Berggren is still unproven but I project his ceiling as a 3LW

Melnyk already pays him nothing but make a counter offer.
Eriksson is still very good on the PK & D.

Jake is what he is atp, a dime a dozen bottom 6 F. Stetcher is decent but Detroit kinda set at RD with Hronek, Seider pegged for top 4 duty. They'd maybe have some interest in him alone but not for the 32nd pick. Roussel is another bottom 6 F the Wings don't need or have room for

If Jake isn’t an improvement for the Wings then they must be loaded with nobodies on RW.
He’s easily a 2RW on the Wings & if bounced to 3rd then something good is happening.
Other than Larkin nobody touches his speed.
Stecher is a very solid 3rd pairing D man that replaces Biega & can play top 4 if needed.
Roussel is very solid & would help the Wings over what they already have.
Wings problem is a horrible cap situation for a rebuilding team that on,y needs time.

In the end as my explanation says tweajs could be bone. The Wings are sad & these players woukd all help in the meantime. In goal is another big need.

Like I said make a counter offer instead of judgement that doesn’t achieve anything.
Use the ACGM to see this proposal thx

Wings have Mantha and Zadina as top 6 RW's. So no Jake would be a bottom 6 F even on Detroit.

Biega will be Wings 7th D at best, Hronek, Seider, and Gustav Lindstrom will be their RD's next year. All are young and have potential.

Roussel might be marginally better than another 4th liner Wings would trot out but he's certainly not going to make any meaningful impact

Wings have like 35M in cap space so not sure what you're talking about being in a terrible cap situation. They have a couple bad contracts in Abdelkader and Nielsen but other than that their cap outlook looks great and there's a good chance they'll buy out one of those contracts this offseason.

I won't offer a counter because Detroit doesn't really want any of these guys at the cost of valuable future assets. They've finally started to get some of the old, useless vets off the books and make room for their prospects to play. No sense in cluttering the roster up again with marginal players with little or no upside.

Virtanen isn’t a Yzerman player, we are loaded on RD so Stetcher is ehhh, and Roussel is an overpaid bottom six player (which we have plenty of). That doesn’t return 32OV in a deep draft and Berggren nor does it make sense to acquire those guys for a rebuild. If you want to take on cap dumps for you then we’d be interested in picks, Demko, Hoglander, etc.

I like jake and I think that depth is a huge issue an addimg guys like him in the middle 6 is a good call. Rousel no interest and I like stecher but not sure he's a fit even though he'd improve the blue line. Think they'd rather get seider and lindstrom more minutes. Id rather pay less and eat a contract for you guys. We have so little as far as assets go that it makes more sense for us.
