You don’t think the canucks would want to move out 13 mil being used up by pylons? And the Hronek trade tells me that they are willing to trade futures for immediate success

I agree, just created him to show who were taking in the draft

Should they do it? Absolutely not. But its the canucks, the Hronek trade shows that they are willing to trade futures to make the playoffs next season, and in order to have a chance at playoffs theyll have to get rid of myers and oel

Keeping Gaudreau
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flamesfan</b></div><div>Both those trades are terrible for calgary</div></div>
I thought the value was pretty spot on for the Tkachuk trade, and Cgy leaves some value on the table with toffoli cause they're over the cap before that trade and teams know that he NEEDS to be traded, so they lose leverage

Keeping Gaudreau
If Tkachuk signs a 9x8 it will work for toronto because in this deal they give up Sandin as well. I made an ACGM draft of this trade from torontos end and it works just fine

A Klingberg replacement thats not Petry
Id say it depends on what dallas wants to do, because yes that burns contract is more expensive than barrie petry or klingberg would be, but burns is the best player of those 4 right now. Burns has always been great at driving play and creating offence, and these past 2 seasons have been the best defensive seasons of his career. So if Dallas saw something they liked in that Calgary series and think they can make a run this year, I could see burns working there

escape cap hell plus obligatory Vegas big name signing
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cadyn</b></div><div>No from Edmonton</div></div>
If you were Edmonton would you even want Lehner? You guys are obviously gonna try to make another deep playoff run, and goaltending was your biggest weakness last season. Trading for Lehner is a sizeable upgrade on Smith, and Lehner has term so this whole goalie carrousel thing can finally stop. getting a staring goalie while losing nothing off of your roster seems like a good deal for a team who just made the conference finals imo.

If Bergeron retires and Pasternak wants out
I agree with rebuilding, which would mean trading marchand and possibly McAvoy next offseason assuming that this team ****s the bed this season, but they're both injured rn, and therefore are at their lowest value. I think its best to hold off on those 2 for one more year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boston14</b></div><div>I like Dunn as a player but a first plus one of Boston’s better prospects is a bit too much (for me at least). I know the rumoured asking price was a first rounder but if I’m Boston it doesn’t make enough sense unless they’re betting against another team. Maybe Zbroil could be included.
Urho is still young and has potential. Plus he’s on a two way contract. It’s nice having him as an option next season if injuries strike the backend again or he steals a spot with a strong training camp.</div></div>
My thought process here is that I think multiple teams will come to the table offering a 1st for Dunn, considering that a dman Like Savard was able to fetch a 1st at the deadline. So whoever wants a young top 4 dman the most will have to overpay a little, and I personally see Boston as the team whos most likely to overpay for Dunn.

I agree that St Louis definitely wins this trade, but it's something I could see the isles trying if they really want to go for it this year. New York gets the better older guy (Tarasenko>Eberle) and St Louis gets the better younger guy (Beauvillier>Thomas)
