Trade Deadline Ideas
Wing can get a 2nd or a 3rd, so unless you up the offer it's a pass, other teams are bidding for him and will outbid this by far

I don't see the appeal from a wings perspective. 2 cap dumps for a 3rd in 3 years. Maybe if you throw in rodrigue and a 3rd this year it's closer

Uh he's 4M this year and 1M next year. 4M this year is a lot. He's a cap dump to the red wings at the league minimum. We certainly aren't paying for him. You are barking up the wrong teams tree for that trade

For us he is, we aren't trading a pick for a big cap it makes no sense for us. We aren't trading picks and rebuilding. If you trade him to a contender sure, to wings your paying to move him

Russell + 4th to Detroit as a cap dump I think is more correct and fair

Wings can get more so it's a pass.
Lgd will get a 3rd+ 5th

Wings can get. It's seperate so we should decline.
Neal costs a first as a dump
Lgd gets a 3rd+ 5th
Staal gets a 4th
Bernier gets a 2nd/3rd, especially retained

Would love for one of the 3 pay a 2nd and wings resign him in the offseason. I would almost guarantee they would rather trade greiss and resign bernier today but doubt that happens.

My Guess
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>I'm not opposed to Ghost coming to Detroit but It depends on what Philly wants in return for him. Looking at some of the Analytics he isn't very good defensively, he is basically a forward playing defense. Taking that into account I would put him as a #4 or #5 so 2nd or 3rd pair.</div></div>
He would essentially be our 3/4 and our #1 pp guy. Philly put him on waivers so we just tkwr him for free. We won't give up anything. Also could leave him unprotected in the expansion draft

Im with you. We need pp help, his cap hit isn't Terrible and it's not that much longer. We will need this type of player when we trade half of them at the deadline. Either he stinks and we get rid of him in a few years, he's productive and helps the wings out, he's productive and we can turn him into something next deadline or the year after. I can't see how it hurts them even if he's bad, we have the cap space and aren't going to be struggling cap wise over the next 2 seasons. The risk is worth it

Terrible take here, Detroit is always rebuilding? This is their first rebuild since 1985, it takes time to rebuild and you don't trade away the 1 guy you are rebuilding around. Your proposal is rejected and it's not even close to realistic

Yup not one of these makes sense for the redwings. Not entirely sure where the value for a rebuilding team is. Almost feels like a troll post

Wings are gonna pass, we aren't trading mantha for a 2023 pick, doesn't fit with their rebuild and just doesn't work. Middlestadt hasn't proven anything yet and henri is a good piece but both worth mantha for the wings. We have plenty of Dmen in the pipeline that are close and we don't have another mantha

Minor moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilsince95</b></div><div>The Namestnikov idea isn't bad, definitely a 3rd best player on a skilled line kind of guy who has thrived with that in the past. With him locked in for next season, that's a deal I'd be willing to send Benson in for for sure. If not many other deals happen to figure out the offset cap space ,could perhaps send Turris as well to offset cap, and add a later pick from the Oil as well. Or move Chiasson as part of the deal.
Any Detroit fans out there with perspectives on Namestnikov and how he's playing/what the team wants to do with him?</div></div>
Sure honest take. He's a bottom 6 forward whose super fast and will score a decent amount, nothing overwhelming. He's a good piece to have on your team with an extremly friendly cap hit. Could play any of the 3F positions and could play top 6 if needed. However at this time he's one of our only forwards signed past this year, he's from the Detroit area, he wants to be in Detroit which is hard to come by right now and just brings the right kind of veteran mindset to a team whose rebuilding and loses a lot. All of it means he would be a great depth option for a team that needs his skills, but the wings are not looking to trade him for all those other various reasons at this time. Maybe next trade deadline would be a different story
