More likely than not that the flyers don't sign O'Brien and take the 2nd for it.

Starting the Rebuild
I know goalie returns are never what fans might expect but that feels like a really cheap price for a 24 year old goalie that is still being viewed as the franchise goalie. Even if the Flyers rebuild takes 5 years he'd be 29 and you should build from the back out imo. With how we are seeing goalie age into their 30's there's no reason to feel like that's too old

Moving Provorov and Hayes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Kings keep Durzi and the first and 4.8m in cap to get a LHD. Two years of Provorov is worth nearly as much that much. Take back 5m Peterson in the trade, maybe the Kings consider it.</div></div>
4.8 to get a LHD in UFA where the probable best one is already on the team and likely wants to test the market, and others that are comparable are older than Provorov or Gavrikov. Trade doesn't have to include Durzi but it frees up a spot for one of their younger RHD to jump into the NHL. To include Pererson in the trade more would be coming Phillys way...

Moving Provorov and Hayes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I don't disagree with the fact that he *likely* looks better with a change of scenery/solid partner, but I wouldn't be paying a 1st+Turcotte+Durzi to find out. That's arguably a better package than Chychrun netted the Yotes, and he was cheaper/better.</div></div>
With Spence and Clarke knocking on the door and his contract being after one more season I wouldn't be shocked to see Durzi moved this offseason especially since it seems like the kings want to acquire a vet LHD and it seeming likely that Gavrikov wants to test UFA. Turcotte is also in a interesting position hard to find a spot for him down the middle in LA I think if philly did acquire him Cates might move to wing and he's play center. Also feel like LA hasn't give him a serious look in the NHL since he signed.

With a change of scenery and a solid partner I think you'll see more of what you did in the past. In his 4 games with Ellis he looked great not that it an enormous sample size. He's also looked much better along side York than he did with Risto or Deangelo

Don't see Philly doing that while entering a rebuild. If they move Hayes and Provorov they'll need contracts like Ellis' to be near the cap floor

I must have misread his contract I thought he had two years after this. I feel like it will really depend on who is moved this offseason and what they future plans are.

I mean probably not honestly... in theory the caps would be taking on a "worse contract" but it's very unlikely that Ellis every plays again so you keep him on LTIR for the remainder of the contract while also upgrading a pick when you're trying to get out from another bad contract I feel like a pick would need to be coming to Philly not Washington. Even though the Ellis contract is two years longer with Philly rebuilding it could help reach the cap floor if need be.

I think both players could probably pull a former 1st rounder as well as the pick even if it means that's the extent of the package. I'm somewhat familiar with Bourque since he was expected to go around the range of the Flyers pick in 2020 not so much with Johnson. Anyway, I'd rather them get a pick and be able to get a guy they think fits their needs

Harts Value
I personally don't think Hart will be dealt unless he makes it clear he want to leave. It's hard to gauge his value cause when looking at his stat line it's not the best but when you look at his underlying numbers he's been good. Among goalies with 35 games played he sits 12th in the league in GSAx.

At this point I don't know if there would be a preference in position I'd assume D based off the likelyhood of where the flyers 2023 pick will be landing and the forward talent at the top of this draft class.

That's kinda where my head was at with a return for him. I'd probably say a prospect and a 1st and depending on the prospect a mid/late round pick.

I could definitely see him playing in Ottawa especially since he played juniors in Ottawa. Also familiar with Giroux which would probably be a plus for him. Not really sure what a return would look like but I see the fit in Ottawa for him.

Trade makes no sense for Philly. DeBrincat got traded out of Chicago for not wanting to go through a rebuild he likely wouldn't want to sign in philly. Konecny will be moved to help with the start of the rebuild.

Get rid of Tuch and make the pick a 2nd and it might make more sense to me. I think it would be more likely Laughton is moved to a contender as a piece by himself for something in return

Ylonen is of some intrest but don't know too much about the habs prospect pool. Tuch seems like he's a solid two way guy but I think picks might need to be there to get a trade done. I think if made available most teams in the league would be in on Laughton so the price could keep getting pushed up

Offseason re-tooling to take the next step
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CJ1909</b></div><div>Johansson is a solid prospect, but maybe add another forward prospect instead of Fabbri. Fabbri is there to provide some offense as I don't think the PHI lineup will be all prospects. I think the (2) 2nds are on point. I don't see a 1st+ being include plus a solid prospect. If he was signed for a lower AAV maybe, but not now.</div></div>
They won't be a prospect filled line up but the vet forwardss will likely be from within ie. Coots, Laughton, Atkinson. I think TK could fetch a 1st, 2nd and a solid prospect maybe just a one and a solid prospect is more realistic. I don't know too much about Johansson but seems like he's a good puck mover with solid skating I know provorov will likely be moved but even then York and Sanheim are still there on the left side with Zamula still in the AHL LD might not be the right piece. On a terrible team TK's a ppg player at $5.5 for the next two seasons and if he doesn't get hurt could potentially score 35 goals this season and has already cracked his career high. $5.5 for that is a great price
