Honestly, I'm first trying to gauge which teams would be interested in his services so I don't waste folks' time. After that, I see Addison being used primarily as a chip to help us trade up in the draft.

Yurov signed a 1-year deal with his KHL team after they replaced their coaching staff. However, it's interesting he opted for the non-traditional 1-year term vs. the normal 2-year. Probably has something to do with his desire to play with Kaprizov and the time is ticking with the latter's contract and all. Öhgren will probably play a year in Iowa after next season since he likely won't receive huge minutes in the SHL (still decent minutes tho). The key for him is consistency. Khusnutdinov will be NHL ready for sure tho. He's already played like 139 KHL games.

Exactly! We just need to suffer through next season. After that, our cap opens up with Zucc + MAF + Foligno + Hartman + Goligoski all coming off the books. We'll be able to bring a good chunk of them back on team-friendly deals if need be, which is nice. Some other notes, there's no way in hell I'd spend that much on Duhaime and Dewar. Both are barely above min. wage players. Also, don't forget about Beckman, Walker, and Spacek. I could see them supplant Öhgren, Yurov, & Hunt, respectively, for the 2024-25 season. We'll probably want Öhgren and Yurov to spend some time in the AHL before being called up.

MAF says no. He's tired of moving and stated just yesterday that he plans on playing his final season in Minny. Guerin agrees so he's staying -- much to the chagrin of some Wild fans. Foligno stays since he's a locker room guy. Maybe he gets traded but I haven't heard of any rumors. We're more focused on trading Addison and possibly Goligoski. As well as, resigning Gus.

Minnesota Wild signed Marcus Johansson (2 Years / $2,000,000 AAV)
I agree that this is a good value contract; however, I'm a little disappointed that this means fewer opportunities / playing time for players like Beckman and Walker. I think this contract will be a win iff it helps Boldy continue to develop into a superstar. If MoJo adds some consistency to his scoring touch then this will be a big W. We still rely way too much on Kaprizov & Boldy to drive the offense against tougher competition or down stretches.

For Minnesota,
1. Kaprizov
2. Spurgeon
3. Boldy
4. Gustavsson
5. Brodin
6. Zucc
So I'd replace Zucc with Spurgeon.

Mock-Draft

Thread:
Mock Draft with small explanations
The last thing Minnesota needs is yet another undersized LHD. We already have an offense-only defensemen in Addison and that isn't going well. Currently, we have...
LHD: Carson Lambos (1st, 2021), Ryan O'Rourke (2nd, 2020), Daemon Hunt (3rd, 2020), Kyle Masters (4th, 2021), & Jack Peart (2nd, 2021)
RHD: Calen Addison (trade), Brock Faber (trade), David Spacek (5th, 2022), & Ryan Healey (4th, 2022)
Those in bold have Top 4 potential, the rest are easily NHLers.
For this draft, we are targeting forwards. And judging by Judd Brackett's past drafts, we are gonna lean towards guys that are decent skaters, leaders, high character + hockey IQ, and drive the offense for their team. I'd love for us to draft guys with higher ceilings, especially in the goal scoring department but that doesn't seem to be in the cards as JB prefers to be a bit more conservative by focusing on solid, 2-way forwards.

For those that are interested, how much would you be willing to pay?
He finished 3rd in points amongst rookie defensemen despite riding the bench the last half of the season. He's a killer PP1 guy but that's about it. His offensive talents didn't translate into 5v5 success. His defense is highly suspect. That being said, he's young and posses all the hallmarks of an elite offensive defensemen. He's just never going to become that under Minnesota's system. I don't expect a significant return.

I would be ecstatic if Michkov slipped to the Wild. If we can't help our current Kaprizov, might as well draft the next one :squinty . Plus, this one will be 2 years younger when he comes over. Also, if Yager falls that far, I'd trade the rest of my draft and (almost) any prospect to grab that extra pick. Walking away with Yager and Michkov would be a dream come true.

Off Season Moves and Next Years Roster

Quoting: Samsoc22

Didn’t know about the Wild’s goalie depth so thanks for going a little in-depth about it I appreciate it. I also appreciate that you understand hockey and realize Hart would be Vezina caliber on a good team like the Wild. There’s too many clowns in this comment section that think they know hockey that think that Hart is some random goalie. The ask is probably too much and realistically should probably be just the picks but if they already have that kinda depth they shouldn’t even kick the tires on it. Thanks for your insight!

To add to what others have said, the Wild are the last team that'd be looking for a future goalie. For context:
a. Gustavsson was arguably a top 5 goalie this season (2nd lowest GAA) and is only 24.
b. Behind him, we have Jesper Wallstedt who is considered by most to be the best goalie prospect in the world. Wallstedt made the All Star team as a rookie in the AHL this season.
c. Hunter Jones was a 2nd rd pick in 2019 and although he's been a disappointment so far, goalies take longer than normal to develop and he has shown strides recently that give hope.
All in all, the Wild have 2 franchise goalies in their system so wouldn't be interested in Hart at all. Especially for that price. Our GM (Guerin) and head coach (Evason) cannot stop gushing over Faber. In fact, Guerin specifically targeted him in the Fiala trade. I could only see the Wild giving up such a haul as the one you proposed for a bona fide young, franchise center. Someone like McDavid, Matthews, et al. Which is unlikely to occur. Rossi is our only prospect that could become a franchise center -- something we've never had before.
Hope that helps. :)

We have youngsters but Evason would rather fill our roster with veterans than give prospects proper game time to develop. As for your point on 2023 picks, I would agree if it weren't for this draft being a generational one. That being said, I do see how enticing it is to wait until to TDL for a Hagel/Jeannot return. My thought process with trading prospects over picks is the former allows you to speed up your retool w/o impacting your tank for the next 2-3 years. But I understand that GMs typically want to make their own selections.
How long do you expect the hawks rebuild to take?

Oh, I totally get it from a Hawks perspective. What would it take to entice you enough to forgo the TDL route and accept an offer this offseason? The Wild have the top ranked prospect pool (according to Scott Wheeler from The Athletic) and are able to offer a number of talented prospects that align with your rebuild...or at the very least, speed it up.

With all due respect, imma have to disagree with you on this. I think Minnesota accepts or at the very least seriously considers it. The main piece we'd want is Raddysh. In order to get him, we'll have to sacrifice at least one of our top prospects. If I'm Guerin, I'd try to fixate on obtaining Raddysh and that's it. I like the other 2 players you included but I don't see roster spots for them given our abundance of depth pieces in our system, as well as the fact that Evason & Guerin prefer grizzled veterans over youngsters when filling out the roster.
All that being said, I think the value is fair and I'd accept it if I were GM. :)

If you're asking why he wasn't in the NHL this year. It's because Guerin/Wild organization don't like rushing prospects and even though Rossi wasn't playing bad, he was playing sound defensive hockey at a minimum, his offense wasn't where they wanted it at the beginning of the year so he got sent back down. The plan, initially, was just to get his confidence and scoring ability back on track then call him up again. However, the play of other call ups, namely both Connor Dewar and Mason Shaw kept them in the lineup. Ergo... there wasn't a realistic spot for Rossi on Minnesota's roster until the injury to Joel Eriksson-Ek a couple of games ago
Thems the breaks. 🤷♂️

I'd STRONGLY recommend reading this article. I think it does an excellent job breaking down how Rossi's game has grown this year and where it hasn't -- particularly w.r.t. aggressiveness on the boards. Which is something Evason values highly.
