draft day deals
There is no way Florida moves Ekblad without a significant piece going in the opposite direction, and Arizona is trying to get rid of salary for next season not take on more.

Sharks Offer Sheet Cirelli and Trade Burns to DAL
no point for SJ to give more than a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Cirelli at that price the won't go any higher than offer sheet compensation.

5M is not much for rich teams but for the Yotes to spend 5M on a player that shouldn't be in the lineup is rough. They do care about the cap because they only have just over 2M in cap space right now. they still need to find a way to compete while keeping their salary low. and they only have 8 forwards under contract through next season. They will not be taking on Eriksson and Stecher which will end up costing them just as much as keeping OEL.

Arizona will not be taking back cap in an OEL deal. The only reason they are moving him is to move salary.

Fair!
The only reason I had Virtanen there is because apparently Van wanted to move him because he is an RFA and they have more than enough money in middle/bottom 6 forwards as it is.

I just think that Debrusk is as good as gone, reports of him asking 5M on a bridge deal, similar to McAvoy bridge. Carlo is replaceable IMO, and his value seems to be fairly high to Vancouver. Not many times you get the opportunity to trade for a goal scorer like Boeser.

Avs 20-21 Rask and Carlo
Not Getting Carlo without a top 4 defenseman going back that way.
Sweeney has said that Rask won't be moving, so it would take at least a great deal to move him.
Also it doesn't really make sense why Avs do this. Lots of Goalie options in FA this year such as Holtby or Markstrom and it looks like Vegas is trying to move Fleury.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Personally I think they are using the media to negotiate.
The snag I see is the signing bonus. If next season is shortened there is a provision in the cba to pro rate pay. Petro will need to have a heavy signing bonus next year at least.
I say it’s close 60/40. 60 he stays.</div></div>
The signing bonus is definitely a big piece of the puzzle!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>I might be the only leafs fan on here that thinks there’s a better chance of him staying in St. Louis than hitting ufa.</div></div>
I think that you will see him stay put, if they offered him 8M x 8 years as reported I dont think he will be getting any better than that in FA from a cup contending team. Most cup contenders are in enough cap trouble them selves because of the cap not going up to sign big FA's. Very similar to Krug in Boston. The only teams with the cap space to sign them either have their own RFA's to deal with or aren't going to be competing for the cup anytime soon.

I know people get super excited about 1st overall picks but they don't = cups. Well built teams that make sensible trades and draft well = cups. How many first overalls are on boston or st. Louis? Travares himself is a first overall, he left NYI and now some how they're a regular at the conference finals (not that thats a pro JT point). Your still getting a 1st rnd pick this year and an center that makes you a legit contender, i was doing this for the rangers.</div></div>
NYR wont be trading the 2020 1st. Change that to the 2021 1st and take out the Pits 1st and you have a good deal IMO.
Teams that do well, draft and develop well while signing/trading for key role players to play around their core/top talent.

Depends on whether he wants to go to a cup contender or not. I don't think you will see any cup contenders having the cap space to give him any more than 8M

Not a Leafs fan LOL. When I read it i thought it was the 2021 1st. And NYR does this because they had trouble providing offence anytime Zibanejad wasn't on the ice and they need to move a goalie. the best option is Lundqvist.
