I Might Be the Only WPG Fan that Wants to Keep Scheifele
I don't think you're alone. It is mostly the vocal minority that wants to move Scheifele.

Rebuilding
If the Jets were to trade Scheifele and Dubois they might as well trade Connor, Ehlers, Pionk and Morrissey too cause with neither of PLD and 55 and no top 6 center prospects they're going nowhere so not much point in keeping two valuable assets.

Jets don't have cap space for Brossoit. That is why he left in the first place.

Brossoit is too expensive for a backup and Winnipeg doesn't have the cap space for him next season.
Too bad though, he was a good backup.

Any trade for Scheifele to NYR starts with Schneider or don’t bother.
1st+Schneider+Barron+Gauthier/pick.
If needed for cap reasons, WPG can take Strome back as well, though I’m not sure his value and/or how that would alter the deal… but Schneider must be included or it’s no deal.

Very unlikely the Jets retain on Scheifele if they trade him and certainly not for that return. Leave out Chytil, start with Schneider and go from there.

Deadline moves
I see Minny or Avs in on Stas. I would ask him what his preference was before moving him just out of respect.
FLA trade is fine. Some see it as an overlay but I think it make us better. I was a big Stanley fan but it’s time to move on and Vesa hasn’t really done much and needs a change of scenery. It definitely doesn’t make us worse. If it’s an overpay then FLA can add a mid-late pick
I could see Toronto in hard on DeMelo. That said. I would try to move Dillon or Schmidt first before DeMelo. DeMelo has stabilized every one of our players he’s played with and is really underrated.
I’m hoping there is a bit of a bidding war on Copp. I can see quite a few teams in on a defensive centre who can chip in offence at under 2M with 50% retained.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmyjets</b></div><div>Avs or the Blues are probably realistic options. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets asked him where he wanted to go and tried to facilitate that. I think both those teams would welcome him back with open arms. Anyhow, the point is we trade him for a 2nd somewhere.
I just think that there will be some team out there that is willing to give a 7th for Beau. We've done it a fair amount when we make the playoffs just in case you get down to that 8th or 9th Dman.
I don't really know that much about Tippett but thought that as a former #10OA pick the Panthers would want more than Stanley. I view them as needing the Left D and then giving Vesa to backfill for Tippett. Maybe we could get another asset out of that trade but I'm not sure what that would be. Sourdif?</div></div>
I think the Tippett trade looks just fine. He’s had a bit of an up and down year looking great but also not playing some games.
Would be nice to ship stastny to the Avs. Gives him a real chance at winning.

Not really sure how I feel about Stastny, but I could see us making that move. Seems like a very fair trade.

A brighter future
There is no reason for Winnipeg to sell Scheifele and Copp at such a discount. The first and Lafreniere are a good start, but Kravtsov and Chytil aren't needed by the Jets and don't carry much value.
If the Jets retain on Stastny, they should get more than a 3rd.
The Jets have no need for another LD, so there is no reason for the Jets to overpay for Chychrun.

the missing piece
Jets should stay away from any trade involving Perfetti. He’s already contributing on the 2nd line, but I do think there’s a package to be built around Lucius and Heinola. They fit arizonas timeline much better than Stanley and vesalainen. What would need to be added to make it work, I’m not sure.

Trolling the canes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmyjets</b></div><div>Yeah bro, as a neutral fan here that is a classic quantity for quality deal and no team is going to retain salary for 5 years, nevermind that you're asking them to do it to get Eichel to be a $6.1M player and probably the best value contract in the league.
Guhle and the 3 - 1sts probably satisfies the asking price but Kulak, Lehk, 2nd & 3rd doesn't get you $3.9 retained for 5 years... so the initial premise of the trade falls apart because you won't be able to get a better player for $6.1M, nevermind a better C.
Habs are in a real tough spot here from where I sit. Let a team swoop in and take your lunch money or sign a really rich contract that with the qualifying offers will walk the player right to UFA. Plus if they match that puts Suzuki and then Caulfield at risk of being offersheeted too.</div></div>
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Even though there are too many pieces that don't spike Buffalo's interest, value-wise it's fair (if you don't take into account that retention, obviously). Just looking at value, this trade is OK, it just has a few million too much retention

explaining the 2022 lineup
Perfetti wouldn't be a good fit with the two stonehands at all, I have major doubts that Perfetti makes the team this year, let him play in a lower league and put some weight on, no point in rushing him.
Vesalainen probably gets put with Lowry and Copp, don't know if that's a good fit for him either but that's likely where he ends up.
Wheel will remain on the top line, Maurice isn't changing that line unless injuries happen or they really struggle, even if they struggle Maurice will likely keep them together and make some excuses for it.
Gotta think Schmidt will be on the top pair with Morrissey and DeMelo will be paired with Stanley on the third D pair.
Stastny will be 2LW with PLD and Ehlers.
The 4th line will likely be Toninato or Gustafsson with Nash and Harkins.
It's unbelievable that Heinola appears to be the odd man out on this defense, he won't be happy going down to the Moose or being the #7 dman.

explaining the 2022 lineup
Schmidt already spoke about how he’s talked with Maurice about some potential pairings. Talked about being paired up with Morrissey or playing left side with Pionk. Looks like we’ll either get:
Morrissey - Schmidt
Dillon - Pionk
Stanley - DeMelo
Or
Dillon - Morrissey
Schmidt - Pionk
Stanley - DeMelo
