I think if the Bruins keep Lysell or Merkulov down another year, they're doing themselves a disservice. That being said, I have no idea how they fit them in.
Do you package Geekie with Ullmark to get a better return? Let JD walk for nothing? Going to be interesting for sure.

Yeah he's probably not going to a Canadian team and there's nothing of interest in that return.

Moving Forbort to LTIR opens up space to bring Beecher, Lysell or Merkulov up which is good.
Also can't believe Ullmark nixed the 2nd or 3rd trade that has been offered for him.

Three Way BOS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Ultimately, I think Boston is interested in Lindholm.
Ullmark, DeBrusk, and $3.25M of retention this year for Lindholm, Schmid, and a 2nd round pick.
Lindholm and Swayman get extended while opening up a slot of Lysell and Lohrei for this year.</div></div>
This would be fine if he was the player he was last year.
You're taking a huge gamble that he turns his season around. He already has shown he can't be a difference maker in VAN.
If this is going to be the price for him, I don't want it.

That is a TON to give up for Lindholm. I would do a 1st and a prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caps123</b></div><div>Not sure what you mean. You're asking WSH to give up a player you deem to be valuable for significantly less than what WSH paid to get the player. And you also are asking WSH to take a player to make the cap work on your end. Seems like a lot for a 5th round pick two years from now ...</div></div>
I agree that a 5th isn't enough. Just pointing out that getting Forbort isn't a net negative as a player, but you're correct, there needs to be compensation for the salary difference.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS IDEA
This was purely speculation last night and everyone acted like Jake was packing his bags. I don't see this happening unless BOS really thinks they can't/don't want to extend him
Came out at like 10 last night that VAN is trying hard but is most likely out the Guentzel sweepstakes anyway, so the 3 team trade is unlikely.

"Eat" is a strong word. Going to a UFA this summer and is still a useful 3rd pair PKer. Is he worth $3m? no, but you're also getting him at 1/4 of the cap hit for a month.
I think a 3rd or 4th would be fair. I wouldn't mind seeing a package with him and Pacioretty either.

Take Lysell out and I think that's the deal, with probably Forbort going to PITT.
I highly doubt that Ullmark deal happens mid season and NJ is supposedly set on Markstrom.

Boston deals the 1st, Forbort, Farinacci/Lauko/Braz.
I don't see them dealing DeBrusk for Lindholm. Even with how streaky JD is, it still leaves a big hole in the top 6.

You're not getting Swayman, but if there were to be a deal with Swayman, it would start with Mercer as a return.

It's gotta be money in-money out. It might be a defensemen, I doubt Lindholm fetches JD at this point.
He's been real bad in VAN, so I'm sure it's going to be somewhat of a bargain.

I don't remember who, but someone said that the B's goaltending is no longer a strength, but a luxury they can't afford, and I couldn't agree more.
If Don Sweeney gets an offer including Holtz or Mercer, I think he has to take it. No telling how long the goalie trade market will stay hot.

DO NOT INVEST - Not a cup roster
Selling off on a team that's 2nd in the Atlantic isn't something that's going to happen.
I can understand just not doing anything at the deadline, but selling is not ever going to happen.
If you think JDB walks in UFA, then yeah, get some useful pieces for him or package him for an upgrade..

Yes, I believe the rumor was a three way trade between Detroit and OTT at or shortly before the draft. I believe the hold up was Ullmark waiving the NTC. But this deal was to get Boston back in the 1st round of the draft, I don't think any significant player was going to BOS.

when did i say the bruins weren't going to move someone out? i just said i don't think they move ullmark.
the bruins have plenty of assets that can be traded for help at the deadline.</div></div>
I don't think they NEED a center. Their bottom six needs to be above 50% at the dot, but if you move money out and can recall Beecher that solves that problem.
The top 6 needs another scorer, not really a center. At least someone who can get JDB going, or help out March and Coyle. JVR and Heinen are fine but definitely not top 6 guys.

I don't think Ullmark is being moved. I think a depth center and a solid d man are the targets. none of this.</div></div>
I don't really think the difference in getting a top 6 wing or getting a center to move Zacha to the wing is that big.
Bruins don't have cap or assets, how are you getting anything other than league minimum without moving someone out?

It's not likely the Bruins trade away from the D-core. If Donny has learned anything, it's that you need 8-9 D men ready to go come play off time.
I doubt they could swing it, but if you got Middleton and Johansson, you'd be filling all your needs with one trade.

TInordi is definitely not an upgrade over Forbort.
I'm interested to know why the Boston scouts have been at so many Blackhawks games. I have to think it's Donato or maybe Dickinson.
