is buying out Krug a viable option
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwg314</b></div><div>his buyout looks to have a similar structure, but less term and less penalty.</div></div>
Based on CF's buyout calculator, I would rather deal with the cap penalties from a Leddy buyout as opposed to a Krug buyout. Plus, Krug has atleast got some offensive upside

Kings
Not bad . . . not bad at all. Personally, I'd probably prefer to spend Girard's $5 million on Gavrikov (chiefly because he wouldn't cost us assets to acquire), but there's nothing here that is unrealistic or foolish.
I'm hoping that we get one better pick (instead of two lesser ones) for Sean Walker if and when we trade him.
As a fan of not just another team but one outside our division, you've done very well here and I think that this is a very good projection. You even got one of our forward lineups completely right, although our bottom 6 is usually in flux. (Another typical one is Fiala - Kupari - Vilardi, Iafallo - Lizotte - Kaliyev, although in that lineup, Lizotte and Kupari might change places.) I'm pretty sure that I couldn't do as well with the Blues.

Yes, but I would think 3.5x3 would work. When Dobson signed that deal he had a 50 point season under his belt.

Of course, you can point to the analytics crowd that only "watches" hockey from a stat sheet because you've parroted their clueless takes and then exaggerated them beyond the pale. The Blies are obviously not trading Parayko for A) a winger, which is the last of their needs & B) someone who eats basically all the cap going out the door. Of course, one would need to understand the Blues just a tiny bit to know that.</div></div>
I never said they would trade him for Skinner. I said skinner was more valuable. You need to understand the difference.

We shall see, but agreed it's likely. It could work out really poorly for the Sharks if STL gets lucky in the lotto and then does well the following year.

100% agree, but the penguins have like 5 other contracts on their roster when Sid leaves that won’t age well either, so that’s a down the road problem. I think this is a win/win for what both teams are looking to do now.

The most fun to watch 1st line in the league
I think that line would be broken up after 4 games. Those guys all want the puck, no one is doing anything away from the puck and neither winger is going into the corner to get a loose puck

playoff time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwg314</b></div><div>Help out the wild? This is an elite winger and a top-4 RD, both massive needs for OTT. Dorion thought they were done rebuilding a year ago. What are you saying?</div></div>
Nevermind Dorion, he's not qualified for the position.
I would do that deal. I know Dumba is UFA at the end of the season but the team needs to take a big step forward. If they're not close to a playoffs spot, then trade him at the deadline. If they're close, try to re-sign him short term (could afford high AAV if short term) then deal with the situation later.
<strong>Fiala - Stutzle - Batherson
Tkachuk - Norris - Joseph
Formenton - Pinto - Brown
Kelly - Kastelic - Watson</strong>
That 1st line is filthy, all 3 could be PPG
That 2nd line would be very hard to deal with since the first line would already draw a lot of attention. If Joseph doesn't produce enough, then you have Connor Brown ready to move up in his spot (been pacing 50+ pts in each of the last 3 seasons)
That 3rd line could be an elite 3rd line right away. That speed and defensive awareness would be awesome. Can score goals too
I don't expect anybody to know these guys but would be a hard line to play against. Then there's a guy named Angus Crookshank who would have made the team if not injured
Buy out Colin White. He's a good 3rd line player but he makes too much and there's a massive logjam incoming. Ridly Greig might be hard to keep off the team. Worst case scenario Greig takes Fiala's spot who would then be with Tkachuk and Norris, Sens would have basically 2 first lines.
<strong>Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Dumba
Holden - Hamonic
Del Zotto - Thomson/JBD</strong>
Chabot would finally have a good enough partner for him (best he ever had was Dylan DeMelo, BY FAR). Sanderson will have the chance to play with a proven veteran, he will be able to focus on his defensive game. Perfect for him. And then good depth behind them
<strong>Forsberg/Gustavsson/Murray</strong>
Hopefully Murray has a long stretch of being healthy but good depth at that position too. Forsberg and Murray were one of the best duos in the NHL this past season.

Fixed it for you.
Jeannot's blend of physicality and offense is a rather rare commodity around the NHL. When teams find one of these guys, they tend not to want to part with them. How often do you see Caps fans trying to trade away Wilson around here?

Barbashev and Vladdy traded
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>xercuses</b></div><div>Blues say no to the first trade fs Dobson is an RD</div></div>
You are delusional, you wouldn't trade Tarasenko who's 30 years old, one year away from UFA, and gone through some major surgeries even if he was healthy this season, for a 22-year old right-handed defenseman that is already putting up elite underlying numbers and 50+ points as a defenseman under the most conservative, boring system in the league under Trotz. "fs Dobson is an RD", so you rather not take the best player you could get because he's a rightie LOL. This logic is so flawed, you always draft or trade for the best possible player, for instance the Blues could trade Faulk if it bothers them to have 3 highly paid RD. Would you have chosen Laine instead of Matthews in the 2016 draft if your team already had good center depth but a need on the wings?
<a href="/users/Db1899" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Db1899</a> this guy wouldn't trade Tarasenko for Dobson lol. And <a href="/users/HolyShildt" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@HolyShildt</a> doesn't even think Isles give up much in this deal "but are they really paying a lot?" Haha these fans...

No, Columbus still needs their 1c, Sillinger is probably a 2c and Johnson looks like a wing. If it’s not cooly, Columbus goes Nemec at 2 because their have a major hole on the right side of the defence. I’d say Columbus probably stays at 6 and 12 and goes for Juricik at 6 and a center at 12.

That isnt how this works.
While Chy may only be worth the 2OA in a draft that lacks franchise changing players, comparing the pick of a player to the traded pick aint how this works at all.
