Dude, put down the salt and watch some hockey. Imagine bagging on a goalie who brutally owns your team. And FYI, they also have Zherenko, who is an equal prospect to Hofer, plus Ellis, who is likely more of a backup type. No need whatsoever to waste a 1st on a goalie.

Thread:
this is how the draft finna go
Ok so here's the thing:
1. Top 4 you nailed. Though the Blackhawks need centers, with their current timeline to compete for the Cup, I see Michkov being picked instead.
2. There are a lot of playmakers that could go in the top 10. Sale is 100% worth the top 10, but NOT the top 5. Montreal will draft either Smith or Benson. Maybe throw Perreault in there. More than likely it will be Benson because there has been chatter that they are looking to take a guy that can play in the NHL next season. As for 17th overall, if they don't use it to acquire Dubois, they will draft Yager, who has been linked to Montreal for a while.
3. Speaking of Perreault, he will not go outside the top 10. I have him at 6th on my draft board. Production alone, he's a top 10 pick. Also I've seen many mocks having him fall solely based off size. Currently smaller players are finding success inside the NHL, so it makes me believe that his size won't be an issue. Skating is what wins over everything, and Perreault is a really dynamic skater.
4. From 5-10 it should go like this:
5th Benson
6th Perreault
7th Smith (yes, he falls to seventh, the Canadiens and Coyotes don't need centers at all)
8th Sale
9th Leonard (Kasper and Larkin is a solid 1-2 punch, Bergeren may become a center in the future as well; Detroit needs snipers and power forwards, but if they were to address a center I would pick Moore since he's from Michigan)
10th Moore
5. Cristall won't go near the top 10. I would say he goes between 13-20. He had a injury, and after the injury he wasn't the same consistent player that he was before the injury. Also he's undersized and slow, which is the worst combo that a prospect could have.
6. Blues won't draft wingers at all in the first round. If Moore is available, the Blues take him. Dvorsky would be a solid plan B.
7. The Canucks aren't a good defensive team, they should draft Reinbacher instead. He's a heavy shutdown guy with a nice offensive touch. Sandin-Pelikka is all offensive.
8. I could see Gulyayev going to Arizona so you have that nailed. Picks 11-13 should be:
11th Reinbacher
12th Gulyayev
13th Sandin-Pelikka
9. Heidt is too high. Barlow would be the pick for the Penguins in this case. I could see the Flames taking him, he has a lot of Gaudreau qualities in him.
10. Chevy would immediately lose his job if he doesn't pick Perreault or Leonard. I love Pinelli, but is he worth the 19th pick? I don't think so.
11. Leonard doesn't fall past the top 15. That would be a steal for Seattle, but they should go for Bonk. Really good defensive defenseman, offense is slowly improving.
12. Final point, I love the Lindstein pick for the Blues. The Perron pick not so much, as said before the Blues should avoid wingers. In this case, they immediately take Bonk. If anything, Bonk should go first then Lindstein.
Hope this helps, thanks for posting!

I think the Blues would take Price before Bonk, but all three of those guys you chose for them have a decent shot to be picked by STL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kmerk12</b></div><div>A
I actually think this is the reason you'll see more move up. Cost (in # of picks) would be less considering how deep the draft is as you pointed out. I can see Detroit going for a RHD, whether in this draft or outside it, they have the cap flexibility and draft capital to make it happen. I can't imagine that make all 5 picks in the top 43...</div></div>
That is some real galaxy brain thinking indeed lol. Dont see that happening. These scouts fall in love with a half dozen prospects that will be available to them and the Gms never feel the need to pay the price needed. With analytics so prevalent these days, they use the <a href="https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2020/05/06155402/Screen-Shot-2020-05-05-at-4.55.33-PM.png" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">draft value charts</a>

ASP - pretty sure they'd not pass on Moore to take a smallish offensive D
Price - excellent pick, very likely
Musty - I mean maybe, but I think they'd rather have someone like Bonk

Hell no to Chiarot. NEVER.
And we're not spending two 23 1sts on a winger, we have other areas that actually need fixing before we start going after luxury items.

I'd love Barlow and all, but the Blues almost certainly will not take a winger with that pick. They'd probably grab Moore or Reinbacher. And I cannot imagine Dragicevic going before Reinbacher.

STL - NYR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kmerk12</b></div><div>*NYR 2023 2nd conditional - If NYR makes it to the Eastern Conference Finals then STL receives NYR 2023 1st.
Tarasenko to NYR makes sense to all parties involved. It is known Tarasenko has waived NTC for NYR, NYI and NJ. NYR needs top scoring RW, Tarasenko is pals with Panarin and STL has basically no chance to resign Tarasenko. Robertson has progressed well since being drafted in 2019, he's a reliable defender and is rumored untouchable...but I think NYR lets him go for the chance to win with Tarasenko's scoring ability and proven playoff record.</div></div>
I think this is a super solid trade. I think the condition makes a ton of sense for both parties.
On behalf of the Blues organization, I accept this trade and award you with the "Best trade i've seen on capfriendly today" award.

I gotta disagree man, this will be pretty much what he gets at the deadline. If it was just his offense, he might get more. But he's terrible in the defensive end, which is key in the playoffs. Kravtsov is still young and has talent. A first and a young former first rounder with a 6th for a kicker is pretty good.
