Draft Deals for the Post-DeadCap Era
I know Russo keeps saying the org could Rossi if they got a 1st but what he means is a mid teens pick. Like 12-16. It would be tragic for the org to take this deal.
And I think we’re all undervaluing Addison.

Is Rossi a bust
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>xercuses</b></div><div>That’s fair, only reason i posted this ques was A wild really need low cost good players next year cause cap
And B because I thought it had been 4 years since his draft but I was wrong and it’s only 3</div></div>
I hope he can contribute next year. I would love to see him do well. Maybe an insulated 3rd line role? I could see that working

Buyout Hell Year 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lafavs</b></div><div>You might be correct and maybe the Wild wouldn't go for this trade. You never know trading an 18-year-old prospect if you're going to end up regretting it, but given how flush the Wild pipeline is with more highly regarded prospects and Petrovsky's smallish stature (eliteprospects lists him as 5'9" and 170 lbs), it felt like a deal BG could make and live with the outcome. Petrovsky was a 6th rounder a year ago coming off a season nearly identical to his '22-23 campaign, so it's hard to imagine his stock has appreciated <em>that</em> much to price himself out of a deal like this. But maybe the swap of draft picks included in that deal makes it an overpayment for Minnesota.
I notice in a lot of these Armchair-GM simulations that people overvalue players on their favorite team and create trade scenarios that are completely unrealistic. I wanted to avoid doing that, so I tried to put myself in the shoes of the other team's GM (or more realistically, their fanbase lol) in any deal I tried to build. I feel good about the fact I've had at least one Flyers fan and one Wild fan saying they don't think their team would do that trade haha.</div></div>
Yeah not saying Petrovsky is untouchable, but guys like Seeler are a dime a dozen and there's just no real reason to spend draft capital on them. In all reality, his value is barely above future considerations.
I like Seeler, but he isn't really any different than Beaulieu, Burroughs, Englund, Tinordi, etc. That's off the top of my head and 3 of the 4 are all pending UFAs this summer, while Tinordi was a waiver claim last year. Those scrappy 7th D are always looking for jobs and easy to find.
Seels would be a press box player on almost every single playoff team, and certainly a press box player on any team making it past the 1st round. I'd take him for a 6th or 7th if you can dump Goose or Merrill, but otherwise meh...?

Shaw doesn't get 2M. More like 850k. He's out with his 4th ACL tear and it's gonna be a very long road back. Guerin will give him a contract out of respect, but Wild are not planning for him to be in the lineup. Hope for the best with him, but gotta plan around it.
Also you're just missing Duhaime altogether here.

I'd take this for Seeler. Petrovsky is solid

Minnesota Wild trades Goligoski to the Chicago Blackhawks
But why on earth would the rebuilding Blackhawks trade two 2nd round picks in a deep draft for a 37 year old defenceman with one year left on his contract?!
