OEL trade

Don’t think this makes the team better and doesn’t really improve cap flexibility</div></div>
Not this year but the year after Hornqvist comes off and we could also make some moves to free up space like moving Pearson, Dickinson, Poolman. Reinhart is a big upgrade from Garland and he will be our top right wing, Gudas and Schenn is pretty much a wash in terms of value. The main thing is OEL is off the books. I like OEL and keeping him isn't bad because he is a good D-man but we have prospect depth at LD with Rathbone Jurmo Petterson, and OEL will never get a lot of PP time which is what he was originally paid for in AZ. The 1 mill retention is a hit to the cap but it isn't awful, especially if our left D is eventually occupied by Hughes and a couple young guys on cheap deals. With OEL and Hughes here for 5 years, all our young left D will never get a proper chance and their development will be delayed.

If Canucks had anything close to defence they would have been in the playoffs. Great group of forwards, consistent vezina caliber goaltending.

Lol, if he did he would have been traded long ago. He's horrible and makes 6m.

I could see this happening. I think leafs would accept with a 2nd rounder. we have an excess of good wingers and a lack of good RHD. This trade evens out pretty nicely for both teams if the 1st is reduced to a 2nd, maybe a 3rd. Leafs have to find a way to find sandin though, I think removing Crouse from the ARZ deal makes it more even and allows that cap space to sign him

If the 1st was removed I think its fair value. Leafs get two guys in Myers and Miller who can help then win now but also get Boeser to replace Nylander on the wing. Nucks get a top line right wing in Nylander, a top 4 RHD in liljegren and 3C in Kampf which is exactly what we need. Mikheyev Petey Nylander would be a sick line.

Dob Son
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>Dobson doesn’t have the same track record but saying he’s nowhere near Pettersson isn’t accurate. Fans tend to overvalue guys who put up a lot of points even if they don’t win while doing it. Barzal’s numbers have declined since year one but with the exception of last year he’s made 3 deep playoff runs since then. Miller’s production is impressive but he plays with a lot of high end talent which makes it easier.</div></div>
Comparing Petterson to Dobson is very similar to comparing Barzal to Evan Bouchard. Now if the Isles needed a RHD would they trade Barzal for Bouchard? Absolutely zero chance. The value isn't close at all.

Definitely more value going to the Isles here. It makes the Isles roster a lot better but the only downfall is losing that power play QB in Dobson. If Lekkerimaki was replaced with Rathbone, they would have added a high upside NHL ready defenseman who will likely be very good at quarterbacking the 2nd or 1st power play. Also the trade would be more fair in terms of value.

I was really excited for Lafreniere when he was drafted. Watched most games, put him on my fantasy team even. Well now I don't watch the games anymore and I dropped him from my fantasy roster. Do you know why? Cause he produces at the same rate as Juho Lammiko.
