WIld card cup champs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>The Isles, assuming they end up snagging a WC seed, will have a hard enough time getting out of the first round, let alone winning the cup. As it stands, they would be set to face either Carolina or Boston, and neither of those matchups look to be favorable for the Isles. The only way I see the Isles progressing out of the first round is if NJ takes the M1 seed (Isles take WC1), or the Isles snag a divisional seed, which neither of those scenarios are likely.</div></div>
thats what they said in 2020 and 2021.

Isles 2022-23 - a couple ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bensartena</b></div><div>LMAOOOO touch his contract?? Fans are soooo soooo oblivious. Pageau is a top 3 faceoff man in the NHL, very good defenisvely, a fantastic penalty killer, and still prodcues decently on offense. Another team won't be able to "touch that contract" becuase there is 0 chance the Islanders trade him.
Also their "logjam at center". It's not a logjam one will move to wing and gives them so many interesting lineup options LMAO. My goodness some of you need to stop posting on here</div></div>
both the eye test or advanced stats will tell you that youre sadly wrong. I wish you were correct! But pageau is a player in decline. Nobody is paying a guy 5 million a year to win face-offs. Its a poor contract, but they also didn't pay him for now.

Not sure anyone would be willing to touch that Pageau contract. Not like he's a worthless player, or anything, but those miles seem to finally be catching up to him.
Regarding Chicago trade, comes down to can they get a second round pick for Domi without taking a cap dump? My guess is yes, they can.

The people that think Palmieri is worthless, I think, are incorrect. He has been solid in the brief time since his injury. Still, probably a tad overpaid. But I dont think "nobody" would take him.

Thats a whole lotta nothing, in my opinion, for Terry.
Wahlstrom is done for the season and showed so little before that.
Salo has been looked over for several other minor defenseman.

Potential deadline deals
I hope the isles don’t trade Fasching because he’s an actual fourth liner in today’s NHL, as in he’s fast, plays the right way, etc. I just want the isles to move away from the “identity” “best fourth line in the league!” nonsense.
Rant aside, Idk, maybe he’s worth a third

Yeah no, isles will pick the phone up…. That said, they will decline the deal, as another user pointed out, mayfield’s value will be higher.

Nelson is him, genuinely good player rotting with talentless teammates. I think someone will give up at least a 1st eventually, probably more likely in offseason. Fair to Leafs decline, I assumed someone would be willing to give up a 3rd for a cheap 15 goals, realize they're probably not in the market for more goals.
