Thread:
Konecny Johnson Killorn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barbs</b></div><div>The Marleau situation was a bit different cause he literally sold his house and said he wasn't going to play for them for the upcoming season as he and his family wanted to move back to SJ. Since the cap hit would still be there if he retired, Toronto had to pay a steep price for relief (its even higher when you consider a replacement players salary now being added). I agree that Killorn and Johnson have slipped down the organizational depth chart in Tampa but they should still fetch assets and not cost to move.
Also re: Marleau, part of the reason the cost was so high was due to the buyout window being before July 1st. Carolina had to deal with Marleau's signing bonus which made the buyout cost far more in cash, which doesn't really matter in Toronto but does in Carolina</div></div>
Again was spitballing; I was thinking of adding a couple prospects from VAN's end
I agree they are more serviceable than Marleau, but it seems to me TBL have just as good players, who are younger and cheaper; also that's a lot of cap relief
Also it would be VAN's 1st; they would still have their own 1st haha

Konecny Johnson Killorn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barbs</b></div><div>...While also throwing in a 1st rounder. I also think Philly would match that even if it's not ideal.</div></div>
Just spitballing this TBL trade; TOR gave up a 1st for 1 year of 6 million; TBL will be getting 4.5 years of nearly 9.5 million of relief
They will probably match, pending on how much Provorov signs for

you may be right, but it seems like that they have just as good players who are younger and cheaper

if he stays healthy and does what he usually does, no unloading of anything will be necessary
hence my point noted of MTL vying for a playoff position, his services can be employed at that time

most likely these are foreseeable lines that you put together:
-louie won't be buried, with gaudette in the minors
-like the def pairs
-like ferland with the 2 young guys as well

also dont think virtanen has a spot if green is gone; virtanen might be one of the few successes of green's tenure so far

Think he can still play, NSH won't just give him away imo
ANA needs an actual center until Steel takes over, perhaps in a yr or 2

Obtaining Ferland defeats the purpose of getting Anderson now; and Brock by far is the most valuable part of that proposed deal.

idk bout that as "they" claim ANA is small market, and sutter is serviceable 3rd line center, people just forget
