Ofc he would sign with the Devils. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense. (sign-and-trade, or something like that). And I'm working with the theory that he'll say yes.

No chance. These bottom-six guys have short career with low earnings. They want to make as much money the can - especially when they are older.
He had 34 points in 82 games and 12 points in 15 PO games. This season, he is on pace for 31 points. He can easily make 2x$2.5M.
And he is very SOLID on defence.

Waddell Magic
This won't work, because:
Long Term Necas is signing +$7M. But we can let this one slide.
Jack Drury for 2 years is going to be $2,5M.
Seth Jarvis, 2 years for $4,5M.
Martinook, 2 years for $2,2M.
Teravainen atleast $6M.
Pesce will get also more.
Altough I see Guentzel signing for less ($8M).

24-25 with plan to sign both Drai and Bouch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>For an organization that employed not only Ken Holland, but Peter Chiarelli, you would be familiar with bad moves. Just like this one would be for the Canes.
Going down the offer sheet route first, the Oilers only have the draft capital to offer sheet a player within the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th bracket of offer sheet tiers. Necas won’t even bother signing within the 1st or 2nd, and potentially the 4th depending on how much he is looking for. The 5th and 6th bracket would be where Edmonton would likely have to send an offer sheet in for there to even be a remote chance that the Canes consider not matching, and I don’t think that the teams that they traded the requisite picks to are going to be returning those picks anytime soon. So the only chance the Oilers have to actually land Necas via offer sheet, would be in the 7th tier of an offer sheet, and for the requisite AAV of 10.725+mil, Necas is an Oiler.
As for a Necas trade, I think there is a high likelihood of him being traded in the offseason, but it would be in a package for a forward upgrade. Canes can certainly keep Necas if they want to. All they would have to do is bridge Jarvis, and they have the extra cap space for both Guentzel and Necas.
But keep going off on how Waddell and Tulsky are dumb.</div></div>
Wow, someone really took that to heart.
The offer sheet was just an example. Why do you think I didn't do it? Because the Oilers don't have the right picks. You don't have to explain to me how that works.
Of course the Oilers can throw in more capital.
I'll just give the example of Guentzel - if I had told you a week ago that he would be traded for 4 "prospects" and a 2nd and 5th rounder, you probably would have laughed pretty hard. Wouldn't you?
Yes, Waddell is doing a good job so far. But look at Zito (maybe the best GM in the league), didn't he trade a 1st and 4th rounder for Chiarot for 20 games? Everyone makes mistakes.
And I don't know exactly on a dime the Canes cap situation, but can they afford to give Jarvis a bridge worth 4.5M? And he may not even want that bridge...
And most importantly - it's only capfriendly.

Agree. All Ken Holland draft picks as Edmonton Oilers GM (since 2019) have scored 9 goals in NHL in total till today. I would rather send them away than waste it.
You have 3 years of McDavid left (2 of Draisaitl), no time to wait for draft picks to grow. You need finished players.

I would rather send away 1st with him than buy him out. Late 1st round is the most overrated thing in NHL. And you need space for resigning Draisaitl and Bouchard after next season.

That Saros deal has zero chance of happening... Moving Campbell alone is like 1st a 3rd at least.
Then add Saros value to it - all together it would be like 3x 1st + prospect at least
And Ceci played really well in first season here, since then he has been bad. Nurse has to carry him.

That leaves about 9.9 Woll should get about 3.5 ish that leaves 6.4 mil McCabe likely gets 3 so now you are down to 3.4 mil for Knies but he should be looking at around 6, not to mention Hildeby likely gets around 1 mil and you still didn't improve the 3rd or 4th lines</div></div>

Foegele is literally an UFA after this season. Anderson has negative value, he is on pace to have 9 points this season while making 5.5M. They can literally go 1-for-1 with Campbell.
