You’re asking Trotz to take on 20 million in cap for a goalie that isn’t even good enough to be an AHL starter. A first is the base for any trade where you’re giving us Campbell for his albatross contract alone.

Ceci is barely top 4. His numbers have not been all that good the past few seasons and considering the place Nashville is, he doesn’t bump anyone out of our right side. He’d be a cap dump to us.

Now add the fact that you’re asking us to give you Saros, Carrier, and Trenin (with retention)… yeah… keep adding. None of what’s in the package is at all enticing.

If EDM wants to get Campbell off the books, a buy out is the most painless way to do it. Trying to trade him to a team that already has two buy outs and two retained contracts on their books is going to cost significantly.

Ceci may have played in the top four for most of his career, but at what point has he played for a team with more than 1-2 good defencemen?

Also Toronto’s top 4 with Rielly muzzin and Barrie
Ottawas top 4 with Dylan demelo and chabot in his last season he played with Ottawa
