Changes Are Needed
Hawks obviously decline. Trading a 3rd on the off chance they might get a 2nd for Brodie at the TDL isn't realistic. Reaves is a cap dump. And Timmins has no value to the Hawks. This trade is beyond bad for Chicago.

I don’t want Kakko. The Bowman years are over. Let’s stop accumulating the island of misfit toys and focus on our picks and developing them.

The rangers got a late first out of Lundkvist so I would think thats a pretty reasonable comp. something in that range anyways

Outside the Box Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rajvinder</b></div><div>One of the great things that Capfriendly did recently was partner with a scouting firm to provide free scouting reports on all players.
Now I'm sure you guys didn't take the time to read the press release but this firm makes millions selling it's scouting reports to NHL teams and offers a more limited free version on this site.
I'd highly encourage you all to navigate to the players names, click their name, and click on their scouting report. It includes amazing things like projecting the role of that player.
If you took the time to use this feature which was inbuilt to raise the quality of discussion on this site instead of people just saying random BS. You'd see that the consensus scout report for Vlasic is that he will be a mid-range 3rd pairing D. The kind of guy you pickup in FA every summer on a League Min deal.
If you looked at Robertson you'd see a higher end 3rd liner as his projections and Timmins is also a higher end 3rd pairing D than Vlasic.
These types of comments from Hawks fans really put this data into perspective: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/797075</div></div>
Robertson has a track record of not staying healthy.
That scouting report on Vlassic is from October 11. Very early in the season. He is proven to be the type of partner that Seth Jones needs, defensively responsible that allows Jones to focus more on offense. But hey, just look at the number and not the player. That's how games are decided, add up the scouting numbers on both sides and whoever has more wins.

lol. I am well aware of CapFriendly's scouting report tool. It's nearly useless and wrong on just about everything. They aren't a "legit" scouting firm, they are a bunch of nobodies making pennies on the dollar doing scouting reports in their free time. I have much better resources, including my own eyes. Also, I'd be willing to bet most of the reports on him are from before this season. You think your being sneaky posting that. Go sell your bologna to some other team.

Wasn't necessarily asking just for CHI. But just trying to get a general idea of what LA fans think his trade value is at currently. I saw the report that LA was taking calls on him, so I figured I'd pose the question.

Mack Celebrini Incoming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newman23</b></div><div>Obviously we have the best odds at celebrini at the moment but if were not picking 1st I think Levshunov will be the guy. Cant see the front office looking past his size/skill combo.</div></div>
I would not be opposed to Levshunov, but when I think about who is available and what CHI needs, Demidov and Lindstrom make much more sense. Especially when you consider the depth of RHD in this draft, we should be able to snag a very exciting RD with the TBL pick, another possible 1st if we trade up into the 1st for a third pick, or even with a 2nd round pick. And we still have Murphy for two more years and Jones for 6 more. Crevier has shown flashes and could still turn into a decent third pairing guy, Connor Kelley is having a great senior year and could get an ELC, and Rinzel is looking like the real deal. Plus, we have a few interesting LHD who can play both sides. We don't really need to go out and get a #1D right now. Also, I've watched quite a bit of Levshunov this year, and he is great, but I think there are a lot more holes in his game than his stat line might have us believe. But, again, if they pick him there, I wouldn't be opposed and I totally get it.

Celebrini sux. If we get the 1st overall pick, we should just trade it to DET for the negotiating rights to Patrick Kane.

I'd love to draft Celebrini but I'm okay with anything in the top 3-5 this year. I'm really intrigued with Levshunov and Lindstrom. I think either of them could be future cornerstones.

Was looking at some stats earlier and was pretty shocked to see tampa are 30th in GA yet still in the hunt</div></div>
yeah the only reason this team is still in the hunt is from kucherov dragging us above .500 every night, without him we might be in contension for a lottery spot. At the start of the year the individual players on the defense were very bad but they have improved and the issue has become more glaringly obvious that it is the coaching. We have a new defensive assistant coach and he is terrible, makes them back up on the blueline giving the other team free O-zone entry, let guys screen our goalie with no pushback, and sitting deep in our zone when the other team cycles so they get free shots from the top of the circle that seem to always go in. If we fire him then that is like half our problems fixed

That's probably the exact trade that gets made for Dickinson. Just not sure that Tampa is the partner. And I doubt Calgary goes for that offer for Tanev - especially with retention.

we would need a .670% win percentage from here on out to make the playoffs, I dont think tanev and dickinson would make the difference and the issue is really more of a coaching problem than anything

Big swing
I doubt CHI would even retain 500k for 7 years. Locking up a retention slot for that long is just not feesible. Over the next 3 to 5 years CHI's cap space is going to be eaten up pretty quickly, and that retention would be a huge headache waiting to happen. Plus, this just isn't enough to justify moving Jones even without retention. Unless, KD has some plan that he REALLY needs that cap space for and is willing to take the retention cap hit, which I highly doubt.

Seamus Casey wouldn’t be part of deal like this. Can take the picks though.

conservative offseason no trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newman23</b></div><div>Interesting. I hadnt realized CHI had intervened in his diet like that. To me anyway, the IQ is probably Reichels biggest asset. Even though hes playing poorly I think his best moments are when he makes the smart little plays like tapping the puck centrally to dickinson for that tampa goal or his little behind the back pass to raddysh for the secondary assist on TJs goal I believe against seattle. He thinks the game super quickly, he just needs to move his feet and fight to get into position to be able to use that.</div></div>
Well, they wanted him to put weight on. Which implies a change in diet, and is something he talked about in preseason interviews that he had done.
I agree that he has all of those attributes you mentioned, though. I was mainly just speculating that the changes in weight and diet that he has made may have forced him to think and play a bit differently. Most of it will pass with time as his body and mind acclimate, though. I'm not worried. I just think it sucks for his next contract. Not only for his sake, but, personally, I was hoping he would have a solid year and CHI could get him locked in for at least 5 or 6 years on a larger deal. That way they don't have to give inflated contracts out, again, like they did this year.
