DeAngelo was fourth in points for defenseman this season...I'm all for trading him but his current value is much more than two second rounders

Sure but it still remains that if one of Chytil, Lias, or Howden disappoint they will still have the upper hand having played under Quinn in the NHL. Kravtsov is a sick prospect, don't misunderstand where I'm coming from, I simply believe that if all 5 of the forwards you are mentioning have mediocre showings in training camp then the guys with prior experience with Quinn will win out. That is my opinion.

Because I would give the upper hand to the guys who have actual NHL experience

Think thats best case scenario. More realistically he will be middle six with pp time here and there. If he disappoints in training camp/preseason don't be surprised to see him starting in Hartford. Highly doubt they keep him as a 13th forward. No value in that.
For the record I do think he makes the team, but this is a scenario for if he disappoints.
Fans always have unrealistic expectations

Think he's gonna be a stud don't get me wrong, still think us fans gotta temper our expectations a bit here. By no means is he guaranteed a spot on the roster right off the bat

saad has such low value at that cap hit. Why would the rags give up one of their best young players and a 3rd for an underachieving forward at a position where they already have Panarin and Kreider?
Orlov way better than Maatta
Hagelin better than Carp
2nd rounder doesnt even out the deal
Perlini for goldobin makes most sense. both could use a change of scenery

I know he’s a legit goal scorer, but that’s all he is. Dobson is a blue chip, can’t miss possible #1 defenseman who plays an excellent game on both sides of the puck. You especially don’t trade Dobson for a player like Laine when you can just OS him for just under the 4 1sts level and force WPG to make a tough decision.</div></div>
chill, dobson is a solid prospect but if you are getting Laine straight up its a no brainer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>I thought the 1st trade was pretty terrible....
And then I read the 2nd.</div></div>
Explain what is so terrible about the first? Perhaps on the second I may be overvaluing Lindgren but the first is a trade that makes sense on both sides. Columbus is loaded with cap space and take a chance inserting a two way forward who has shown in the past he can score at a high rate in a top six role, not to mention they add a 3rd round pick for the expense of absorbing his 4mil cap hit (which is for one season). Pretty low risk for them. As for the rangers they acquire a former first round pick who to this point looks to be a bust. Columbus has to be reaching their breaking point with him after his off ice issues continuing into this summer (<a href="https://nypost.com/2019/07/07/nhl-players-a-j-greer-sonny-milano-arrested-in-nyc-brawl/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://nypost.com/2019/07/07/nhl-players-a-j-greer-sonny-milano-arrested-in-nyc-brawl/</a>).

hopes for a good team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYR_DAN_77</b></div><div>in detail what is "turrible"?</div></div>
Well for starters this isn't NHL 19, but then again I doubt these would go thru there either.
I'll go trade by trade to make things easier.
1. Selling too low on Buchnevich, didn't have the best year but still had a very strong finish. Rags are still looking at a potential 60 point player here would be foolish to settle for a 2nd round pick at this stage.
2. You do realize Vegas is in the worst cap situation in the league right? They can't afford to take on any contracts let alone both Vlad AND Smith. Nor is this in anyway equal value. Gusev is by far the best player in this deal and while he is a bit of an unknown this trade makes 0 sense for Vegas. This may be your worst but i'll come back.
3. Why would the rags retain salary if they are only getting a 4th rounder in return? And also giving up Nieves? Terrible. Shattenkirk has not been as bad as many of the folks on here like to think. In a lesser role with more emphasis on PP ice time, he'll have a much better season. Could be flipped to a contender at the next two deadlines for a much better package.
4. Just not enough for Kreider. Return's gotta be more. A start for Kreider is a 1st, 3rd, and young roster player or GOOD prospect.
5. Vancouver easily declines. Horvat is a great two way center on a good deal. Hank doesn't line up with Vancouver's window.
6. Cmon now. Even you know how absurd this one is.
7. Quantity doesn't equal quality.
8. If the pick included was like a 2nd or 3rd then maybe? Idk I don't see the point here for MTL.
9. Yea I guess they not all turrible. You can argue for this one.
Overall, not the best i've seen on this lil forum. Better luck next time!
