If I feel like I'm overpaying then it's probably close to fair. Just need to find a team that would be interested in Matheson and would trade something like 3rd line affordable forward + 1st +...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Necas start with Maurice Richard, 25 palette of Molson Ex, the next 4 first round pick and Suzuki, Guhle and Slafkowsky. That the cost for a 60 point winger who is terrible defensively.</div></div>
I mean, it's probably something like
20th pick
25th pick
Bottom pair affordable D
3rd line forward
Don't think that's crazy for a young top-6 forward. If we go by quantity, we need to overpay somehow.

Idk man haven't watched them, but good to know. I feel like he'll be the odd man out if cap is tight though

Any tweak could make it better? I feel like its a good match for both but value could be adjusted.
I'd do it without the picks but I'm not sure Kent Hughes would in reality.

Yeah ahaha for sure but it's a tricky one: i don't think toronto trades Nylander mid-season for that package, but if they don't get what they want before, say, the draft, then it could be a sign-and-trade and value wouldn't be as high. Idk.

Caufield was on pace for 45+ already lmao. Seriously though, in the event where Pettersson does not want to sign a contract, I don't see how Vancouver gets more than what I offered. You can swap Engstrom/1st for equal value pieces, idc. Realistically if you're going to lose him and you can get a low end 1C / high end 2C ++, it's a pretty solid return. I don't think many teams would offer a package around a player who's as good and young as Suzuki.
If Petey wants to sign a contract then it's all irrelevant anyway, ge'll stay.

Come on now. I'm only having fun, but you have to admit that this would be an amazing offer if Petey doesn't want to sign. It's highly unlikely, I know. Still, it's being reported that his decision depends on team success so it's not impossible.

Chychrun can play RD. How does he not fit the timeline, being 1 year older than Suzuki? He should still have 7-8 years of prime hockey + 3 more of being a very good depth piece.

Didn't know Levi said that! Fair enough. I think habs will try to find a young goalie with potential somehow, and trading from a position of strength probably makes the most sense.

they don't need "good" years. Dadonov's value in that trade is super low, Monahan's still isn't that high either. Look at past deadline deals where players were traded for a 2nd or a 3rd and tell me it's unlikely they play good enough to be worth that.
