nasty playoff squad
Arizona isn't paying Myers' $5M signing bonus. McWard plays RD not LD and he isn't ready for full time playoffs.
I'd be shocked if Bear gets that little AAV on that term.
CBJ doesn't need more wingers and the value is skewed.
Hoglander is getting AT LEAST $1.25M if not more at the term you're suggesting.
Barbashev is not coming to a mushy middle team after winning the cup lmao.
Hirose isn't taking a 3 year term, nor should the Canucks offer it to him. 2 years max but likely 1 year to cash in on the cap increase.

Its Miller time
I don't think this is enough value for Canucks. Toffoli got a 1st, cond. 5th, young rsoter player with limited upside (T. Pitlick), and a prospect. Miller drives play more, faster, can play C, marginally more expensive AND contract is expiring (less risk of drop off for Rangers).
If Canucks wanted K. Miller (I'd be shocked since they need RHD) they'd get him, a 1st, a roster player, and whatever value difference separates him from Toffoli.

Thanks for calling me a low life. I nailed almost every single one of those predictions.

JV is getting bought-out. Beagle is likely not going to be LTIR-ed. Green doesn't like Bowey. Seattle likely won't take Myers, even with a 2nd. That 2nd could be sent somewhere like St. Louis, Tampa, Carolina, Winnepeg, etc., where we can leverage an expansion spot for a player instead of that team losing a quality player for nothing. RR is a terrible trade target to give up a pick for when Hammer will cost nearly half that. No way Green trusts both Rathbone and Juolevi for a full season of deployment. Montour isn't worth that price or that term and he doesn't fit our organizational needs. Rathbone, Hughes, SSchmidt can all QB a PP and transition the puck. We need rush defenders. MacEwan is gone. Roussel on the 3rd line is asking to get caved in. Should I keep going?

Flat-cap Off-Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>Tampa matches and Ottawa doesn't want your trash.</div></div>
How does Tampa match with only $5.33M in cap space without nuking their roster? They have Cernak, Sergachev, (who will cost even more than Cernak), and Cirelli, plus more to re-sign. You'd have to move Killorn, and Palat, and still need TyJo to waive his NTC to get all 3 under the cap and that still leaves 5 empty roster spots pending roster players in the returns.
Ottawa might be wiling to take Eriksson if they value DiPietro and Virtanen. Eriksson is owed $5M real dollars for $12M worth of cap hit. That's a $7M savings for a guy you can defer up to 30% of escrow across multiple years. If Dorian says the other 2 assets are enough, Melnyk would green-light this trade. Add a 3rd round pick and/or Tryamkin's rights as well. I don't think it's as outlandish as you'd expect but Canucks won't be the only team trying this tactic.

Sens
Benning has said that he won't move picks to move out salary. Obviously, if the right deal comes along he does it but I don't think this is it.

Canucks are obviously open to moving Virtanen's rights but I doubt he signs for that little AAV.

Take advantage of the Cap
Benning has already said that he won't move picks to move cap-space. Even if that wasn't true, a 1st & 3rd for 2-years of Loui is too steep given that he's owed $8M over the next 2 years. Ottawa likely takes Loui with Virtanen's rights and a 3rd. Stop getting your contract and trade ideas from NHL 20.

Canucks Off-Season Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hatt_91</b></div><div>That bozak contract is atrocious, I think he would be good on the Canucks but if he signs for a shorter term with more money, it shouldn't be over 3x5.25-5.</div></div>
I agree but looking at his contract history, he just came off a $5M cap hit and will likely want a pay raise. Everyone knows UFA bidding pushes contract costs up. I kept the salary high in an attempt to keep the contract length low and hopefully keep his movement rights loose. 3 years isn't that bad when you consider we have lots of medium sized salaries set to expire and only a small handful of paydays to hand out (Boeser, Goldy, Leipsic, Demko)
